4:40 Reaction start _Shakariki mosh!_ 🦊🤘👯 Welcome back to BabyMetal Galaxy. They become very good friends with Sabaton during live tour and they were the support band, later Joakim was a special guest during "Meta Taro" live at Dark Night Carnival 2018, during an interview Joakim revealed a possible new collaboration with BM, those words and wishes were real with the Sabaton's Europe Tour 2023 as a special guests, many fans were expecting this could be one of the songs performing together, but sadly that didn't happen. Oh MAJINAI is a folk metal song, following the spirit of Meta Taro, is part of their 3rd album Metal Galaxy and following that theme going around the world and gathering metal and rhythms from all over the galaxy, they're telling us a story about a metal paradise where you can't get in with an adult mindset or else you'll be curse with the spell dancing the "shakariki mosh", that cossack dance style you saw them dancing. This is a good reason for kitsune buddies to hug each other while dancing and drinking a beer 🍻 This is a live compilation from Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 and Budokan 2021. Momoko Okazaki (now MomoMetal) was the third backup dancer (avenger) and the East Kami Band once again as well in all of these shows at Budokan 2021. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time.🦊🤘🔥
Great reaction. Sabaton opened for BABYMETAL in 2018 at the Dark Night Carnival. It will have been then that they asked Joakim to collaborate and got him into the recording studio to do his parts.
⚡ 💕 / 🏴 ☠ Su really seems to really like Folk Metal. She's mentioned that 'Oh! MAJINAI' is a favorite song on the Metal Galaxy album, and 'Meta Taro' was a big favorite from Metal Resistance. I'm sure they all had a lot of fun learning the choreography. Like a lot of BABYMETAL songs, there's some wordplay going on in the lyrics. Majinai or Omajinai can be magic, a talisman, or like a curse or spell. By itself, "Maji" can mean "really, seriously, not joking", and "nai" can be "can’t find, no way". When a Japanese person is searching hard for something, they might mumble "Nai. Nai. Nai… Maji Nai!". (Thanks to the great Japanese fans who help explain this stuff) There's also a picture story narration (kamishibai) that is sometimes played before this song. It's pretty funny. Heavy Metallers land on a magical island and are compelled to start dancing.
1. Love you guys! 2. Apparently "Oh majinai" is another Koba-Metal pun that refers to a Japanese colloquial that is used as an expletive. . .I have seen it's meaning could be. . . ."Oh no! This can't possibly be good!". . . .used mostly when you loose something you need and are looking for it, for example. . .lol This song certainly fits that description, and yet . . .as you said. They pull it off! So many ingredients in the fondue! 3. "Hey reactors, what genre is this?" Response: "Nordic/Celtic-folk-ska-metal-character dance" . . "Hey Kitsunes, what genre is this?" Response: "Babymetal" 🤘🦊🤘🔥🔥🔥 4. A group that can do this, can do ANYTHING!!!! LOL Truly Unique in the industry!!!!!
Aaaaaw yeeeah, great reaction! While not my favorite Babymetal song, it was absolutely entertaining, and an awesome performance. I laughed a lot when I first watched this performance. Babymetal never ceases to put a smile on my face! 🤘🦊
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。This is a compilation video from two shows. BABYMETL is the one and only band who can employ Joakim, the famous muscular metal singer, as a comical character in a playful song. After the world premiere of this song on Jan. 25, 2020 (I was there !), Su and Moa complained jokingly that every audience did not see the girls dancing but watched gigantic Joakim on the backdrop 😄 . "Oh! Majinai" has dual meanings. Japanese word "omajinai" simply means a good luck charm or magical spell. But if you separate the word into two parts you will find different meaning. "Maji nai" means "seriously impossible" or "absolutely no", the phrase used by young people. This song is a little bit controversial. Many European fans are claiming the origin of this song. Irish, Russian, Swedish, Polish, Czech and Finnish. From a neutral position as a Japanese, I can say this is Europe-ish 🤔 .
A fun reaction guys 👊🏽⚡️Su has said this is her favorite song on the Metal Galaxy album. Babymetal is the most American (melting pot of music and culture) Japanese band👊🏽⚡️🦊🤘🏾
Probably also has Russian and Irish influence...? The lyrics seem to take inspiration from the Brothers Grimm I think we can just say: broadly European.
I love how you can tell how much fun they’re having with this song. As much as I love the intense metal of BABYMETAL, I enjoy the fun clips of the faces and goofs the girls have while performing. The fun makes it even better. 🦊
this song is just pure fun. when this song came out they did a tour with stops in Russia and the crowd started dancing folk style. here is the link ua-cam.com/video/7jOXf-OcnZg/v-deo.htmlsi=06TVu0-FntLajfqA . it shows no matter where Babymetal is, it makes the crowd happy. this is not my favorite but it is just fun metal music. enjoyable. and yes Sabaton had opened for Babymetal in 2018 at their show featuring Sabaton and Darth Vader where some of the west kami band comes from. and then 2023 Babymetal opened for Sabaton. also this song shows you can't put them in a box because they do so many different genres of music.
Polka a Finnish Polka to be exact cuz im 1/2 Polish and been to a million Polish weddings I know a Polka when I see one. I dont know why people keep saying Irish cuz the other 1/2 of me is Irish and I have been to a million Irish weddings also. The dancing is Eastern European not an Irish jig.
It is Eastern European dancing based on a Finnish Polka, no pirates or Celts were harmed or involved in this production. Folk music and dancing right across Europe is similar because it was spread by travelling folk throughout the land but each region has it's own distinct variations. The Irish river dance style is unique in that the arms remain at the dancers sides and they stamp their feet similar to Dutch clog dancing
@@tanewoodley9806 correct me if I am wrong but don't they make certain songs as a tongue-in-cheek response to their haters? I seem to remember that awadama fever was meant as a kind of light-hearted clap back to them being called a bubblegum band or something like that. Maybe this is a similar thing about how people claim they aren't metal
@cy8ercat771 I can't say for sure, as they have never said that in public, I understand it would be impolite for Babymetal to do so. So that's likely more of a fan interpretation of the situation, and one that amuses us no end 🙂. Babymetal are so awesome that they not only shrug at the haters, but use the flak to create fantastic new songs... 🦊🤘
Great reaction, it's just a good, fun song. There is another folk metal type song, Meta Taro. You can find the dark night carvial version on daily motion titled "BM - META TARO - Dark Night Carnival with English Subtitles" you won't believe who shows up. 🤘🦊🤘
Nice reaction. Babymetal having fun. And so does the audience. Even the folks who didn't care for this song have fun when it's played in concert. How could you not? Babymetal going from kawaii metal to kawaii fun metal. Fun tune to listen to in the car too. But watch out, the song is about having too much fun while on a journey and getting lost. Most folks try a map app on their cell phone these days. But when you're Babymetal you summon a witch to get you back on course. where they just go back to dancing and partying. We were worried we may never see them again after this video. LOL.
This song live in Europe is wonderful. The audience forms a big circle with everyone and everyone dances in a group. It is very interesting and fun, as if it were a folk song and dance. 🦊🦊🦊
Babymetal again, not doing cultural appropriation, but appreciation, going around lots of European countries and picking up ideas to incorporate in this one songs/live performances.
I think one of the reasons Su likes Oh Majinai is that she gets to ease up on the singing for a bit, and just dance her heart out, which she doesn't really get to do a lot....If the stories of her and her flying shoes during dance practice in Sakura Gakuin is anything to go by..... Well, after this you really need to take a look at Meta Taro.... It's another hard to classify BM song because its a blend of some very different things.... I would prefer the Tokyo Dome performance over the Dark Night Carnival one.... Sabaton and Darth Vader is kinda cringy... 😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘
Can definitely see why this doesn't have many likes. The first thing you do is make fun of the song title, then make fun of the dancing in the video. Wow.
You guys need to rewatch headbanger. This time you need to do the legend m version , also called Moabanger. It was a show a day or two before her 20th birthday and Moa sings the second half of the song . They always do something special like this anytime they have a show near one of the girls birthdays. There is also a version with Yui singing floating around. Actually both Yui and Moa sang the lead for their 15th birthdays in seperate shows near their birthdays. You also need to do the original music video, and keep in mind it was from before Babymetal become Babymetal and was released in 2012 on the Sakura Gakuin year end album. And Moa and Yui were only 12 and Su barely 14 when they recorded the song and video was originally released. Also, I know everyone loves the legend 1997 versions of songs. But bear in mind when your watching anything from then or before, in fact anytime you see the band in the skeleton costumes. All the music is tracks and the band's session musicians mining playing. Even a lot of the vocals may still be tracks. The girls had to fight management and producers to play with a live band and stop being made to use vocal tracks for a lot of their vocals.

They played this at the Apollo in London, the crowd where bouncing my feet got stomped on a lot , but it was so much fun .😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
