    one more question, what do you think is the best plastisol ink brand for a printing business

    • @baavproductions
      @baavproductions  2 роки тому

      There is no one ink brand that I use strictly. There’s multiple brand I go with such as monarch ink, fn ink, etc

    Hey Bro, I’m loving your videos! I’m just starting out & I’m trying to figure out what the essentials are to get started. I saw that you use a conveyor, is that something that is necessary when you’re just starting out, or is the flash dryer able to completely cure the ink?

    • @sqgsablon
      @sqgsablon 2 роки тому

      flash dryer and heat press

    Hey man! Just have a question regarding plastisol inks! At the moment I’m printing using rutland black solid ink. My problem is that when I print on a white shirt the black comes out glossy and it looks amateurish… where as I want the finish to be more matte black without the shiny outcome. Is this because I’m depositing too much ink or is the type of ink I’m using?
    Your help would be much appreciated my guy!!

    • @sqgsablon
      @sqgsablon 2 роки тому

      my english bad, but im try to explain, if you want to matte black, try to use heat press, and before you pres it, put white paper on printing, press about 170 degres, 30 second, and the finish will be matte black , not shiny outcome

    • @baavproductions
      @baavproductions  2 роки тому

      I do get glossy look at times but in order to get a matte look I would get a specific matte black ink! That helps. Companies like monarch ink and poly one offer that

    Hey bro I've been binge watching your videos for the past few days... I'm loving it!! Video quality and printing quality is a huge difference now from a year ago!! I especially love your screen drying rack, and I'm definitely going to build one!! Awesome job with everything! Keep grinding and strive for the top! Btw, those fn metallic inks look nice. I'm waiting for a fn gold metallic to come in! Shipping to Hawaii is just ridiculous now

    • @baavproductions
      @baavproductions  2 роки тому

      That’s so cool man glad you enjoy the videos. The videos and prints have come a long way for sure compared to the videos from a year ago! But the growth is documented which is the best part. Screen drying rack is a great addition. I can see how shipping to Hawaii can get pricy but hey man that’s a beautiful island!

    I screen print water based inks (its a pain) in my garage bro and it gets to about 90-95 degrees lol but putting in the work and slowly transforming it into a lil print studio/ shop I also made my own oversized stretcher! hopefully gonna get confident enough to start a youtube channel to show people my progress, i also specialize in all over prints aka megaprints no joke! thanks for the inspiration boss!

    • @baavproductions
      @baavproductions  2 роки тому +1

      Dang water based inks at 90+ degrees?!? Sounds like a huge pain! I would definitely try to get some AC in and control the temp if possible. All over prints are sweet! How are you pulling that off? With a mega screen?

    • @igotnopancakemix
      @igotnopancakemix 2 роки тому +1

      @@baavproductions yessir! I make my own wooden screens by hand 57 in x 47 in, I got a lil ac unit and will insulate soon =] honestly on the brink of just using plastisol, because cleaning the screens from water based inks is not fun lol I know some plastisol inks are softer and not as thick so might try the softer ones

    Are there any things in screen printing that are harmful to breathe in?

    • @baavproductions
      @baavproductions  2 роки тому +1

      I would say don’t breath in chemicals when washing out screens depending on what you use and try to have ventilation when printing and curing shirts cause the smoke can get harmful

    When you print-flash-print, do you have to wait for the shirt to cool before laying that second layer of white? Should I be worried about the heat causing the plastisol to harden in the screen and messing up the print down the road?

    • @baavproductions
      @baavproductions  2 роки тому

      No I definitely wait till let it cool at least a bit! I edited it and added a cut but I usually let it sit for a bit and then print
