Understanding (and using) Segment Routing in R&E Networking
Abstract:
This brief tutorial will give an overview of what Segment Routing is, how it fits in with SDN-like technologies, and how its implementations like SR-MPLS are used in R&E networks, particularly regional networks and NRENs. It will provide a foundation for the second talk in the series, on traffic-engineering, and will also provide some helpful use-cases that can still be accomplished in the most simplistic of configurations. This talk should be useful to anyone who is interested in deploying Segment Routing in their own network, and for those who are simply interested in getting a better eye for troubleshooting their own data flows through R&E networks while learning about an interesting and useful technology.
