Something I loved about this movie as a kid is that it flipped the 2000’s “woman is only pretty after taking her glasses off” trope and did the opposite. Reporter lady (I think Sam was her name?) is seen as beautiful with her glasses. Idk, as a kid that had been wearing glasses for years, that made me really happy to see.

This film proves that Lord and Miller are writing geniuses. There's so many hilarious quotes and gags throughout. Mostly with the giant food, Steve, and Officer Earl. But they also know how to balance it out with just the right amount of heart. The conflict and ultimate resolution between Flint and his father is handled really well, and overall, this movie just has a great message about embracing who you are and supporting your loved ones.

What is even greater is how they're able to sneak in comedy into serious scenes and still have it work. Like that restaurant scene where Flint and his dad are having a genuinely heavy emotional moment while hilarious slap-stick humor is happening around them. The fact that they're able to balance it all out so perfectly is incredible.

They are absolutely cracked writers, but it's also important to mention that they also give a lot of artistic liberties to the animators in their films, and that's mainly why their movies turn out so good, because they actually let the artists do their jobs and be creative rather than holding them down.

I'm pretty sure it was unintentional but this movie felt like it was telling the autistic perspective of both sexes.
Flint represents the male autistic experience as in, he's very intelligent about the things he's interested in but because of his social skills and the fact that boys mature slower than girls, he's stunted to that of a child or teenager and hides away in his room/clubhouse doing whatever.
Autistic men and boys are often treated as if they're babies who can't add up 2+2 or delinquents who can't stay out of trouble.
Meanwhile, Sam represents the female autistic experience as she has hyper focused interests too but people see that as "weird" and expect her to fit in. She also seems oblivious to social cues as in the people at her job sending her away to a remote island and Flint very obviously crushing on her.
Autistic women are often seen as "more mature" or "more intelligent" thus, a lot of pressure is put on them in social events or academics.

Agreed…old people asking for help on a computer is an absolute pain. Normally it just starts with “do you use the computer?”
    “Yeah, I use the computer.”
“Great! I had an email I used on a previous software version of the operating system but now I can’t access it because my computer updated. Can you reverse the update without losing any of my files?”
NEVER tell an old person you use a computer…

I love the foreshadowing in the beginning "there I was looking at defeat(the feet)" and the shot shows him supposedly looking into the hole but hes looking at his feet.
Also I love the art direction, the 3d characters are probably the best 3d versions of the clone high art style, phil and lord said so in an interview. They tried with having them look angular and sharp in 3d to copy clone high better but the sharpness made the characters look to unnatural and to early 3d. You can see it though in the poses and movement of the characters though

I'm amazed that someone as ordinary as you can have something as special as your channel.
You are so talented, most interesting, and your content is breathtaking.
Your Patrion's always knew you're going to be special and they'd be replying to this comment right now they would say "I told you so."
