- I recently picked up an old rusty LODGE cast iron skillet. I stripped, cleaned, and re-seasoned it as good as new! I tested it out with a 3 egg omelet and pork sausages for its trial run and now it's time to get it clean! The pork did leave some stuck on residue which I had to do a special technique that works well in this situation. Watch as I get it all clean once again so you can do the same!
Interesante vídeo 👏👏👍👌
Thank you!
Why do you not like the Buzzy Wax?
It's not that I don't like it, I just don't think its the best value for the amount you get and the packaging makes it less convenient to use when compared to Easy Beezy Seasoning Stick which I use for regular seasoning.
You are lucky u picked up silver libertads when they were cheap. Those days are quickly coming to an end and those libertads may help u weather the financial storm
Yep, I’m glad I had the foresight to stack them when I did! I am not buying now due to the high premiums and the sales tax in my state. It just doesn’t make financial sense. I look back to 2015 and surrounding years as the good old days. I had so much fun stacking and sharing. Good to see you. I hope you’re doing well.
@@ladylibertystacker2014 I’m with u on that.
Hola Miss LLS and everyone ♥️
Hola Mr FS! I hope you’re doing well!
Hello so picked up a griswold iron mountain 1034 and 1035 what do you think it’s worth
Without seeing it, I couldn't give you an answer. Plus I would need to know what condition is it in. Used, rusty and cruddy, restored, etc? Does it spin or sit flat on a flat surface? Any pitting? Any other damage? There is a lot one needs to know first.
I use a chain mill when washing in the sink works well and quick. If you have any old Buzzywaxx tins. Melt your pucks and poor into the old tins. That’s what I do. I don’t like using in puck form either. Nice to see your back doing videos.
Hi there - nice to see you! That's a great idea to melt down the seasoning and pour it in an old tin. I do love the smell of Buzzywaxx and the way it performs. I am just not a fan of the packaging! lol I haven't been buying as much cast to resell so I need to come up with different content which involves my own stuff, cleaning, and/or cooking! I have noticed a slow down on some of the smaller pieces so I will be focusing on larger skillets and or rare pieces no matter the size. Since I don't see them everyday, the purchases won't be as frequent unfortunately!
Sometimes I don’t even wash the skillets, just wipe them out & put them away but I use the kosher salt too if they get bad enough, great job as always!🤙
Haha! I just used that skillet tonight to whip up some scrambled eggs for dinner and the pan performed like a champ. I too just wiped it out. The eggs just slid in the pan /no sticking! But this was AFTER the first use. lol. Anyway, thanks for stopping by. 😊
bought a very large rust dutch
oven with large lid . I thought
it was a Lodge but after put
dutch oven a lye tank and a
E-tank , this dutch oven was
made in China. the lid have a
1/4 " rise and flat. the dutch
oven 5" deep and very heavy .
I test for lead, negative test .
I paid 30 dollars for dutch oven
with lid . this is a no.12 dutch
oven . a lot of work but it was
worth it .
As long as you are happy with it, that's all that matters. Good decision to test for lead as the Dutch oven came out of China. You just never know!
Hey Lady! Great video! I just picked up a new cast iron pan. It's an Iwachu 9" round omelet pan (made in Japan) and I absolutely love it. I cooked bacon and eggs and nothing stuck. I also just got a Smithy 10" cast iron "chef's skillet" and it's pretty slick. It's for my niece for Christmas; they sold out last year so I ordered early this year. I may have to get myself one now.
That is awesome SilverStrike! I'm so happy to see you and welcome to the virtues of cast iron! I got in back in 2016 with the modern Lodge, then vintage, now anything that will do the job and have never looked back! I hear great things about the Smithy skillet as well. I ended up getting Stargazers mainly for the design, but they are too slick and don't hold seasoning well but do cook very well. Anyway, thank you for stopping by my friend! 😊
