I remember a brief time period where Cyber Sub-Zero was actually one of the best characters in MKXL. Then again, Triborg as a whole was insanely powerful when they first hit the scene. Sektor and Smoke are still, to this day, two of the game's best characters. CSZ is still a solid (and fun) character today, and still is miles better than in MK9, although it is not much of an accomplishment.
I cannot wait until you cover the competitive histories of the other cyber ninjas. They are my all time favourite characters and listening to you talk about them is about as relaxing as it can get :)

Since Sub-Zero's classic Fatality is him pulling the head with the spine still attached to it, making Cyber Sub-Zero's head similar to the Predator's who does a similar thing is a neat touch. (Also, funny how Predator became DLC in the next MK.)
Watching these I find myself hungering for continuation videos with commentary and analysis of iconic real matches with the characters we've learned about!

i mean all the 4 arms in mk9 can be cheesed hella easy with the jump 2 down 2 if needed. they never could figure that out and youd catch them doing the stomp attack middair that way. of course you can do more combos after the jump 2 but if you didnt know any on the character youd do the down 2

I have been playing alot of mkx recently, and while I knew about cyber sub zero I never really payed attention to him, being more intrested in sektor. This video had brought him to my attention and I'm really interested, I think I will pick him up now!
My Favorite to play as in MK9. I understand why people hated a Cyber Sub Zero but I enjoyed him a lot. I always wished for an action figure of him too. Hopefully one day
Cyber Subz is one of the deadliest ideas Ed has ever come up with Freeze bombs is even. Cooler than the regular ice blast and jus look at the blue Steele of skin he has so sick we need him back ASAP

As someone who only got into MK in MK11, the past game metas are very intresting to me. When I first got MK11 I thought Kotal Kahn, the children, and Devorah were newcomers because I never played MK 9 or 10.
@@PNDKM in a competitive way, yes. Not someone who picks him specifically for those moves and nothing else. The playstyle you mentioned is the way I'd expect a good player to fight, not someone who just picks him up and only runs away.
@@GasMK If you pick him up for the first time and see his mobility tools, you'll probably steer to that runaway style to begin with. It is a really effective way of playing the character, although you definitely get ragemail for it. Lol
to be brutally honest, I prefer Cyber Hydro due to how utterly cool he was in MK Project. especially his ice liquid abilities similar to Glacius even going as far as using Glacius's morphing sfx from the SNES version of Killer Instinct.
My second favourite Cyborg after Smoke! (sorry guys) I really liked him in MK 9. It is a shame they did a complete heel turn on him and "undid" the upgrade in X and 11.

Wow look how unique his drone buffs were... not just a glorified damage buff.
They were mostly for extra damage in the ones you'd use the most, but the added utility for the strings were a really welcome addition.
Triborg Smoke variation was fucking amazing. Love using it.
