AHOY MAIDIACS!! I wanted to take a minute and thank all of you. It's a lot of fun to get to talk to those of you who who return each week to watch and comment on these videos, and to get to meet new Maidiacs. A good portion of this channel's growth is directly because of the Maidiacs, and I wanted to tell you all how grateful I am for your support. Thank you so much. YOU ARE AWESOME!!
Hey Bekka, I’m Jeff fellow Maids fan my friend just wanted to introduce myself and let you know that although I am not sure my reacts hold up to the one I’m watching currently lol, I also react to the ladies over at The MCU’S Bleeding Edge. Please consider checking them out I think you might enjoy them.
You can’t go wrong with BANDMAID… These two together was a brilliant decision by the band. Two completely different styles, both just a showcase of talent. 🤟🏻
I know a Captain's duties keep you busy, but you will go far with this crew if you learn the Maid's names: Saiki - lead vocal, Queen of fashion and the Stage. Kanami - lead guitar, main composer, creative riff-monster and shyest Rockstar on the planet. Miku - second vocal, rhythm guitar, lyricist, band founder and heart... and Pigeon (yes, later) MISA - wicked barefoot assassin bassist, probably most technically impressive Akane - master creative drummer elevates the music, consumer of vast amounts of band food, part-time DJ
For Black Hole, Ah-chan prepared different levels of drum demo from easy to hell mode and asked other members which mode they like. All members unanimously chose the hell mode🤣🤣🤣
@@CaptainFaceBeard Lol. Ah-chan said one before the hell was the devil mode, and one before that was the need-lots-of-practice mode😂 Btw, Mincho said she would make a new song at 225 bpm when she appeared in Herman Li's live stream show😳
When B-M last toured Kanami forgot her overnight bag & had to floss using her spare guitar strings. Hotel guests said it was the best solo they've ever heard....probably :)
Ahoy Captain! This from their latest album 'Unseen World', which is actually meant to be a bridge between their style-to-date and some more 'progressive' ideas on the stuff they want to write, and this combo of songs is the perfect example! I've been adrift myself, but now back on course. Glad to have a pilot vessel. Onward!
Thanks for another great reaction! (I love that you also listen to Bad Brains...) Jamiloquai is another musician I like, Misa also plays like Flea from R.H.C.P. depending on the song. Technicality for them is not something to show off but is a tool to make their music more interesting. Making great songs is their top priority and that's how they bond. Band-maid is the ultimate team. 👌 ❤ Did they make you happy? I am happy whenever I listen to their music! I'm looking forward to next week already. ☺ Have a lovely weekend.
Very good comment between the two songs. You may be the most technically advanced musician on your instrument, in the end it's your choice of notes that defines you - some are great musicians, some not that much. More than technical ability (even if they're extremely good technicians!), it's their musicality that defines Band-Maid.
@@kent-oveprestberg3578 Yeah you nailed it. "Soul" is the perfect word to use. I often get bored of guitarists playing a million notes or going off on noodle-fests ( just because they can) :)
I suspect, in the unseen world, Mincho can hang with the "shredders" surprisingly well. She can definitely shred, but she doesn't have to, the music is in her soul and it shows( onset 1:46 ). "With great power comes great responsibility."
You're now approaching live performance waters Captain! This is where our Maids really shine to guide our way. the most massively popular live performances are 'Domination (live)', 'Freedom', and maybe 'Real Existence (live)' or 'Moratorium'. Happy navigating.

I have every CD, DVD and magazines of theirs. If they sell anything on their website I buy it. Yes, I am a Maidiac. I have been a musician for 56 plus years and Band-Maid is talented beyond belief,a self made band. Great reaction 👍👍🤘🤘
I would expect this is a band that a lot of musicians are interested in. We tend to find virtuoso performers and when we find an entire band of them, we are easily hooked.
@@CaptainFaceBeard I agree, I keep thinking back to when you had the Beatles, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, The Police, Genesis and Yes and many more that had very talented bands? I don't know of any bands like that today except for Band-Maid in my opinion. Thanks for the reply.
This is such a great video to check out from BAND-MAID. You can really see two different extremes in music they are capable of performing. It really gives you an idea of what this band is capable of and also shows they dont just stick to one thing.
Subscribed! Appreciate your reaction this is probably top 3 Maid songs of what I’ve consumed with their catalog( Manners I mean although I dig Black Hole) and I’m Jeff it’s nice to meet you. If LOVEBITES are the saviors of Heavy Metal, BAND-MAID are the saviors of Hard Rock. Oh how I love the japanese music scene! MISA, on the bass, is from another universe!
Regarding Black Hole Konami came to Akane and asked her what the highest BPM that she had drummed to. They then bumped it up a bit because Akane wanted a challenge! Also keep a close eye on Saiki's eyes!!
Now I am wondering what the highest BPM she played at was, and what the BMP of this song is. For myself the highest is a Steve Vai song, and 160BMP and it's all 16th notes. Took me a while to work up to that speed.
You mentioned you like harmonies. Wintersun is a pretty extreme metal band that does a lot of great clean and harsh vocal harmonies. Their song "Time" performed live at Sonic Pump Studios is a great example.
I just love the "crazy eyes" on Saiki at times in 'Black Hole'. Gorgeous. Also, I don't think I've ever seen Miku concentrate so much on getting her vocals so perfect. A true professional. And as always , beautiful. But let's face it, both of those songs belong to the bass. And yet, all the women are absolutely brilliant. They are the perfect example of the 'Gestalt Theory' ( as someone stated on a different reaction) "The whole, is greater than the sum of all the parts".
