I met Gary Moore many many years ago at the Marquee Club in London ! He was with Thin Lizzys Phil Lynott They were super guys & i even had a dance with Gary! Lucky me I still rate Gary as a brilliant guitarist & singer My fave song is Parisienne Walkways With gary playing & phil singing It brings a lump to the throat! God the guitar playing here is gut & soul wrenching! 🇬🇧👧
Gary Moore was a different breed of cat. He was a great guitarist, singer and composer but the thing that made him top level aside from the aforementioned traits is the fact that he put every fiber of his being into every note he played or sang. One of the best ever. I would love to see you react to the live video of "Parisienne Walkways" at Montreaux, 2010. It has to be this particular performance. It was recorded in the year before his death and he left it all on the stage.
He joined and left Thin Lizzy 3 times between 1973-1980. This song along with Parisienne Walkways, The Messiah Will Come Again, Spanish Guitar and Nothing's the Same are somewhat all related with eachother!
You won’t find a better live performance for a single artist. The guy is an absolute legend and an inspiration to all musicians. Gives me goosebumps every time I watch his video. RIP GM
Gary Moore was a phenomenal guitarist. He's like Ireland's version of Stevie Ray Vaughan, and has even covered some of SRV's songs. He played for a while with Thin Lizzy, but I don't think he was an original member. He's best known for his incredible blues.
He was in Thin Lizzy twice 1st time for around 6 months in '74 when original guitarist Eric Bell quit and again in '78 when Brian Robertson left, he walked out on Lizzy about 18 months later due to his disappointment and frustration with Lynott and Gorhams escalating drug habits.
Jayvee: "I hope he delivers" Me, I lean back relaxed with a big smile... A few minutes later: WOOOAH, I have never heard the live version before! That's why i love this channel.
@@marymargaretmoore9034 My ex partner grew up not far from where he lived in Belfast. Not only a fantastic guitarist but an excellent vocalist too. Sadly missed.
Great reaction! That, my friend, is what real talent sounds like. No auto tune, no backing tracks, or anything. Just blues played straight from the heart. One of the greatest guitar solos of all time.
I saw him 1989 when he had announced it would be the last time he would play hardrock although he broke that "promise" the last years of life. I heard all the '80s classics including Parisienne Walkways, Empty Rooms, All Messed Up, Over the Hills and so on. Then i saw him 1990 with Albert Collins on the Still Got the Blues tour. He did several encores and the last one was The Messiah Will Come Again which he played with such feeling and passion but also with lots of improvisation!!
First moments... lol. “He better bring it” lol oh yeah!! I don’t think I’ve ever heard this. I don’t know how I missed it. Outstanding. Thanks for the treat of hearing it for the first time. My reaction, same as yours.
Thank you so much for doing a reaction to his song (I know I had asked you for this reaction). This song always hits me in the feels. You can feel the passion in his voice and his guitar. You should hear the studio version also.
Great reaction, bro. You just discovered one of the GOATS! I literally had goosebumps on my arms and legs, and I've heard this 100 times. Legendary talent! It's up to people like yourself to keep this great music alive. 'Parisian Walkway' and 'The Messiah Will Come Again', bro, please. Gotta do him live.
I always loved your reactions and you have upped your game regarding your choice of video. Gary was phenomenal and there are other tracks like "Parisienne Walkways" LIVE to enjoy, which I guarantee you will, my friend :)
This is one of all time fave of his, I could listen to this all day, he's one of the best blues guitarists. There's not many who would say they don't like this, glad you're enjoying it too Jay. Two other good songs of his are Parisienne walkways , Empty Rooms & The Loner all really great songs too.
Found this looking back over older postings; this is taken from a performance of Gary Moore and The Midnight Blues Band that I own on VHS & have been unable to find again in DVD 😥 He is my favorite guitar player ever, I have all but 3 of his albums, including a bootleg with a 12 minute version of Wishing Well. Could tell your ears were highly attuned to that string play.
Congrats discovering Gary Moore. Gary is in my opinion the most intense, raw emotion, guitarist ever. And so versatile. He could play anything. Did jazz & fusion with Collosseum II and rock with Thin Lizzy in the 70s, hard rock in the 80s, blues in the 90s/2000 and was about to release a rock album again when he passed in 2011. Seen him many times live. Always delivered. He is a guitarists guitarist. Everybody from the guys in Metallica to Def Leppard and beyond has got Gary Moore on the top of their list. Best guitarist ever.
I found myself needing to hear this song today. It is my wedding anniversary, Oct 4 1969. My late husband was my world and I still have the blues each year that he’s been gone, since 2017. 😢❤️
OMG you have to play Gary Moore’s “Messiah Will Come Again” in Montreux...you have to listen to the live version. He plays the guitar as if it’s an extension of his body. He was bloody amazing.......
Thank you so much for reacting to this song. He was by far my favorite guitarist. Sadly he's no longer with us RIP. I really liked your reaction to him.
Totally love you for doing this one. Alas, gary died a few years ago. Check out Empty rooms and parrisiene walkways. He also played with both albert Collins and albert king, which was Wow. His earlier material had a bit of irish political rock to it especially when with Phil Lynott. Worth a listen. Gary, live, was an outstanding experience R. I. P. ALL OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED. PEACE AND LOVE TO YOU. THANKS FOR THIS ONE.
This is from a VHS tape i used to own called Live From The Hammersmith Odeon. Also had Albert King & Albert Collins in the show as well. Sadly all three are gone. There are some funny clips where the 2 Alberts talk about how Gary played with such fire. He was the perfect blend of speed & feel.
Back around the mid 80s, me & some mates walked in to a pub in Weston Super Mare, England, stood at the bar, ordered some beers, and nearly fell over when there, 20 feet away was Gary Moore, playing to this small pub crowd. We couldn't believe it and small venues are always amazing, especially with a few beers! Nice reaction.
This guy could fucking holler. You can really hear the pain in his voice. It's perfect for blues. And he could handle a guitar like a champ. Like, seriously, he might be one of the greatest guitarists there ever was!
Thank you for reacting to one of my absolute favorite musicians! He's one of the small handful of the greatest electric guitarists ever. People used to say "Jimi Hendrix can make the guitar talk, but Gary Moore can make it cry." It was as if the guitar was plugged directly into his soul. He could play any style, too -- jazz, blues, rock, heavy metal, etc. There are so many songs of his for you to explore -- "Story of the Blues", "Separate Ways", his cover of Roy Buchanan's "The Messiah Will Come Again', "Parisienne Walkways" (live with Phil Lynott)... For an idea of his rock guitar playing, check out "Out in the Fields" with Phil Lynott. You are truly blessed to have discovered Gary Moore! May your blessings keep coming.
Gives a masterclass performance. RIP to him and Phil Lynott. Musical gods who we had for such a short amount of time but their music will live on. Love from the UK. Keep safe. Love, love, love your reactions. Keep up the good work x
He isn't just making that guitar cry.
He's making it weep hot, deep, soul-wrenching tears.
Gary Moore was phenomenal!
Gary Moore one the greatest guitarists ever
Forgot to mention, Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy. Boys are back in town. Jailbreak.
Listen to The Messiah Will Come, live at Montreux... Or Empty Rooms Live in 1987... Both are superb solos.......
He absolutely was, amazing. Such a loss when he passed away.

Just 58 when he died, but he literally dripped with talent. Man o man that guitar. Incredible.
Gary Moore had the guitar plugged directly to his heart.

Again, this is why we “boomers” even though I’m a GenX judge the music today harshly. The talent in this era of music was just on a different level.
Gary plays..... i cry
every damn time
RIP brother
FUN FACT: Eric Clapton covered this song on his album Old Sock as a tribute to Moore after his death in 2011.
Lotta great singers came out of the UK and Ireland. WOW!!!👍👍👍💖
also Brian May covered Parisienne Walkways
It takes a very dedicated artist to make a cover, after his death.
