  • Daily fluctuations in testosterone have not been shown to drive muscle protein synthesis. However, supraphysiological steroid doses are anabolic. Many testosterone boosting agents are on the market, but Dr. Phillips states they are ineffective, and it's better to focus on resistance exercise. In this clip, Dr. Stuart Phillips outlines steroid biochemistry and why he thinks testosterone boosters don't work.

I'm no scientist but after I started taking a Tongkat Ali supplement my annual T level test results jumped from 250 to 780, 850, 810 respectively. I'm 69 now and have always weight trained and also take creatine and protein

Can I ask if you take Tongkat daily and what brand do you use? I take Blue Ribbon whey Protein. What Creatine product do you use? Back in the day I took it. That was 30 years ago. GNC. I’m 62 now. Thanks.

Damn dude I was going to tout my results but you just put me to shame. I take tongkat Ali and fadogia Agrestis , coupled with Dr Saladino's head to tail diet. I'm at 750 total testosteron right now and I'm 50. What else is your secret? Your my hero.

@@RobertBrecknerwith all due respect being At 750 isnt going to give these supraphysioligical results your looking for, to do that its simple. you must be in a supraphysiological level which only happens when u take a exogenous form of testsoterone and supress your natural.

The two "hot ones" of late are tongkat ali and fadogia agrestis. Andrew Huberman reads a bunch of the latest research on those. I'll leave that to you to peruse if you wish.
To the lift weights part, yes. Anecdotally, I lived in the area of Brad Gillingham, at the time, the world's strongest drug free powerlifter. He was probably in his early 40s (still competing) and said when he did deep heavy squats, his T would jump 300-400 pts and his grey hairs would go away over a period of 2-3 months.
I also notice big changes in outlook, motivation, sex drive when I lift heavy things, particularly the squat and leg press. Heavy meaning, I have to push hard and getting 3-4 sets of 6-10 reps is hard for me even when taking 3-4 min breaks between sets.
Lastly, another anecdote, a single data point, yes, I have tried tongkat ali and fadogia agrestis and don't notice much of an effect to be honest, but it might work better for you. Even if your T is higher, lifting weights is still needed. Get to the gym as much as you can. :)

All in good fun. However, there are some testosterone boosters that will slightly help you. Nothing drastic but some zinc, magnesium calcium and vitamin D will help. Most importantly to lift weights regularly

Question...I just started taking a supplement called “Prime Test” and it contains 85 mgs. of Calcium and 1484 mgs. of testosterone stuff, (I guess). Problem being is that it makes for a rather large pill, (and 9 out of 10 horses agree with me), so instead of “gagging”. I dissolve the pill in a small cup of water for about 5 minutes and take it that way. By doing so and stirring it up...I noticed a small-ish “core-like” version of the larger pill that won't dissolve. What exactly is that? Finally, how long do I take this stuff before I notice anything? I've heard for around 90 day's.

I have seen men build substantial muscle with T levels in the low-normal range (300s) and people lose muscle who had T-levels around 1000. People with lower T may tend to have a higher percentage of free T, or may be more T-sensitive, or may have lower estradiol levels so it is very possible for someone with a 350 total T (provided there is not an underlying pathology) to have a strong anabolic effect from that level of T due to sensitivity, and someone with a 850 T may have low free T, lots of estradiol, or genetically or "environmentally" lower sensitivity. The high T may even be a response to lower free T or lower sensitivity. Supraphysiologic levels of T from anabolics can put people in the 3000-10,000 range! Now in those ranges, muscle growth is profound. Individuals dose to supraphysiologic levels can experience 2-3 times more muscle gain WITHOUT training than someone with normal T can produce with training, over a span of months.
