Unfortunately the RN requires her well trained crew for HMS Prince of Wales. This isn't new, the RN have been striking old ships to crew new ships for centuries. At least this ship won't be facing the harpies of the shore with their blow torches breaking her up to make razor blades for many more years. The fate of all three Invincible class light carriers. She will serve the Brazilian navy well...
I have no doubt she will. While Brazil's naval air arm has more or less lost its fixed wing aircraft, Brazil has increased its helicopter arm. The remaining fixed wing aircraft can either be retired or transferred to a land base. Somehow Brazil managed to run a post WWII British built Majestic class light carrier the longest, and a French aircraft carrier past fifty years.
No most likely not, the deck was pretty short and Gripen so far doesn't have a carrier version. Would also mean the installation of arrestor wires, probably a sky jump ramp and blast shields. All of which would have required some serious modifications.
Argentina? lol Britain selling it to Argentina? hehehe. Brazilian Navy will take care of the new "Pernambuco" ship. Come to Rio and see it from RioxNiteroi brigde. A great view, don`t miss it.
Argentina ...i bloody hope she isnt being sold to Argentina mate.....More like Brazil..
did I say Argentina, my apologies, I will add a correction in the description now
The Argentine doesnt have the money nor to buy a boat, perhaps a ship of this size !!!!! hahahahahaha.....
What wrong with this country
Maggie Thatcher was negotiating the sale of HMS Intrepid to Argentina prior to the Falklands War
@@benwilson6145 it appears she also negotiated the free delivery of a naval torpedo to a select Argentine ship

Too bad she couldn't have been crewed by a country in the Common Wealth. Canada, Australia-NZ.
@@abergethirty ... she's been well treated here as the flagship.

Good video Willy :P
What the speaker is trying to say is ocean was not built to naval standard but to merchant standard. I e a death trap for her crew
Informative, but work on your voiceover. 👍

Couldn't adapted it to carry the Gripen?

You really need to work on your voiceover. Very hard on the ears.
