I Made EDORAS in Minecraft in under 500 HOURS | FULL HD Timelapse

I've been working on this Minecraft build of Edoras for months now, and I am happy to finally release the FULL HD Timelapse of it. It was a lot of work but as a long-time fan of the Lord of the Rings, it was not a burden. Besides, mostly I was just playing in Creative Mode. 😄
I made the valley and the mountains in World Paint, as I also wanted to learn to use a new tool for the future. This was my first self-made map, as I've been working on locations I've found from the Minecraft map generator so far.
Short background: Edoras is the Capital of Rohan in J.R.R. Tolkien's legendary fantasy books of Middle Earth also known from the Lord of the Rings, and War of the Rohirrim movies for example. This version is not a copy of either but rather an adaptation from several reference materials, including fanart. Of course, I wanted to include as many iconic buildings as possible. Golden Hall (or Meduseld) with the Throne of king of Rohan, is on the top of the hill next to the stables. The town itself expands on the hillsides, and then the wooden wall with two gates protects it all at the foot of the hill. Maybe during some distant era, Edoras could have looked like this.
The project took maybe 400-500 hours, with map building, city planning, and editing included. Some of you may notice, that in some places, I destroyed builds block by block and reversed the video. It was getting difficult to see individual blocks in Litematica when there are roughly 70 houses, and I am not sure if I could have ever finished it otherwise. Or, recording it all bit by bit would have been so time-consuming I'd run out of interest. That being said, each building has interiors built, and I put in as many Villager workstations as possible for it to be fully functional as a Minecraft Village. I wanted it to look and feel like a fortress, so I added beds and everyday necessities for the guards in the defensive structures. The city guard also got a Barracks, a couple of watch towers, and some space under the Golden Hall. I just wonder why a Guard is not a villager occupation in Minecraft yet. They should add it in coming updates.
What do you think of the map and the builds? Let me know in the comments. As always, likes and subs would help me tremendously as a small creator.
Thanks for your time and all the best for your day! :) -L

========= CREDITS ==========
🎼 VIDEO MUSIC:
• The Lord Of The Rings - The Riders of Rohan - Erhu & Violin cover by Eliott Tordo ft Victor Macabies • The Lord Of The Rings ...
• Lord of The Rings - Evenstar, Remix • Lord of The Rings - E...
Both epic songs were composed by Howard Shore originally. I have no rights for the music and I expect I won't be able to monetize this video, but I still wanted to use the music from the Lord of the Rings, as I just felt it would not be the same without it. :)

Thank you so much, glad you liked it! 😊
This deserves a million views
Thanks for the boost! I hope it gets them but every view counts. :)
hell yeah - looks awesome!
Thank you so much! :)
I liked how you made your own version of it still looking like it's Edoras!! 🤩
Thank you, glad you liked it! 😊
it is good to see people building without all the tool assisted. you use some mod for the background but we can see you ar enot building in "layer" it is refreshing
Thank you so much! :) I too had to use some tricks for the timelapse, but honestly I'm not very good at using those kind of tools. Or, the player would freeze for minutes every now and then, so I have to make it "old-school" :D
Just found this channel, really nice!
Thank you! Hope you'll stick around! :)
So awesome, well done! 🤩How long did it take?
Thank you so much for your feedback during the process! Honestly I lost track but I started working with World Paint six months ago and worked (=played) 10-15 hours per week on average. So my best estimate is 350+ hours. 😅 The Timelapse part took less, maybe 40-50 hours when I had everything in place. 👌
p.s. I think the rivers running on both sides of the valley (and which do not even show in the video so much) took 50 hours. Or, at least it felt like an eternity after I made a mess with World Paint and had to tidy it up "block by block". Live and learn they say 🤣
Amazinggggg! I love it. How did you create that big banner behind the throne?
Thanks, glad to hear that! I made those big banners a bit like puzzles, placing 9-10 regular banners with different kinds of patterns. 😉
How beautiful
keren bang
Is it downloadable?
Not yet. I'm thinking to set up a Patreon later.
What would you think if the map (mountains and rivers) without the city was available for free but the fully built city was for paid-subscribers only?
