It was a neck shot so that’s to be expected. I personally wouldn’t have taken that shot but can’t argue that it worked. But I shy away from head and neck shots, especially at any distance, as too much can potentially go wrong and cause a horrific but not immediately fatal wound. I know I’m capable of making shots like this, and further out too, and my rifle and reloads are very accurate, but I still always opt for boring old chest shots. Double lung or break the shoulder and take out the heart/lungs. Way bigger kill area and provided you’re using an appropriate cartridge and projectile for the game being hunted it’s very humane.
What do you want to know? I read a lot about them before I bought any, I was really skeptical but looking for something that filled the gaps between traditional copper and traditional lead. If I can't answer I can probably point you in the right direction.
Maybe it acts different below freezing? I live in Saskatchewan and can tell ya that even with a bunch of snow on the ground the air here, especially from the last half of December to the first half of February for sure, is BONE DRY.
In the winter below freezing humidity is very low. There is no vapour trail, there is however bullet trace, which tends to show up with hammers especially because they have a particularly poor aerodynamic design that disturbs a lot of air.
Dang apparently this is how the Indians and white men killed them off! They just stand there!😂 It's like they say " man he must be having a bad day just falling out like that... Oh well"
@@litsci4690 You'd have to be miles away from a win mag to not care about the noise. Or be a bison apparently. 250y is still close enough to need earmuffs if you're in the line of fire.
@@mitchasris3267exactly, they don’t always run. A lot of times they’ll turn around and fight. That’s why they’re not eaten by wolves near as much as elk are. Plus it’s not like they know what a gunshot is. They were hunted very heavily for a long time because they didn’t know what humans were. There’s an episode on meat eater that talks about them. Real cool creatures from the old west.
"Something is wrong with Bob. Safest thing to do is to just stand still." - Every Bison ever
Damn they dropped like rocks. 👍
Spine shots?

Honestly they usually do.
And that is how it's done, good job.
very impressive clean kill on that first one.
I do want to learn more about hammer bullets

Bonjour
C’est quoi comme balles utilisé ?
Merci
Those other bison not even notice their fallen comrade?
Bobs tired!
With that much moisture in the air, you'd think there'd be a vapor trail
There is a little on the first one. If you look at the animals on the right of the screen you can see it.

cold air is dry genius...
Let's eat.
Is there any way Hammer can make a .303 bullet heavier than 150gr???🙏🙏🙏
Not super stoked about the fact that they could have easily hit another buffalo with a pass through, great kills tho!
.300 win mag is on the small side for bison. While a pass through could happen, I wouldn’t be overly concerned.
@joew5792 They deliberately shot two that had no other buffalo on the exit side. How did you miss that?
those ain't buffalo
Real question. Why do they just fall dead and deer run?
100% shot placement.
I suppose the little one was more for soft meat like veal?
Lol its not too hard to see why they were nearly hunted to extinction, lol

May have been a LONG way off in the distance.

I don’t think they’re dumb I just think by nature they’re a less timid animal than deer and other animals people hunt
