Can you beat Master Mode Terraria with Gungnir Only?

- Ever since I uploaded my wand of sparking run to UA-cam back in 2020, I've been getting a ton of suggestions for a Gungnir-only run. And up until recently I didn't think it would be possible and worth a video. However, as of 1.4.4 this thing has been buffed. But will it be enough to take on Terraria Master Mode? Today we're going to find out!

melee speed MASSIVEL increases the range of the little light tip thing
it would have made the challenge way more manageable
also it's possible to kill moon lord with a minishark in master mode, so him being the reason a run is impossible would be very unlikely
wasn't there someone who took him out with a flare gun?
Someone once beat ML with a wooden bow and ichor arrows iirc so yeah, but those both have range so idk
@@crep50 Sorbet cafe beat it with a copper shortsword so there is no way a hardmode weapon is impossible.

This was really fun to watch on stream, loving the content, in my opinion, we need a Terra Lance. That would complete Terraria. :)
I do like the idea of more terra items/zenith items. I'm pretty sure Calamity adds terra bow/shortsword/staff, but it should be vanilla. Having the terra blade being something only made if you're going melee class is pretty dumb.

I actually really enjoy the pre hard mode parts of your run even if you have a good weapon. I think a good middle ground would be to just show a couple of the boss fights and important moments

Not gonna lie I'm kind of sad that Pre-Hardmode was entirely excluded. I would have loved a brief summary of each boss with some visuals to see how good the weapon is in that scenario!

i would like to point out that the bottle of honey still gives you the potion sickness debuff. meaning that your method of dropping honey on yourself with the bucket preserved your potion use for a much higher restoration of health ^^
don't knock yourself too hard, you still got the strats
im pretty sure that if you quick buff you dont get potion sickness but you still get the honey buff
@@gCarrot would you waste your buffs by quick buffing every 15-20 seconds for honey?
@@gairisiuil Quick buff doesn't waste potions if you already have that buff active, so potions would not be getting wasted.

Only once
When using the gungnir vs the twins, you can do more damage by just using a cursed flames flask instead of an ichor one. A box also helps with phase 2 retinazer once spaz is down. Once you gain access to flasks of venom, they can help chip down duke and empress as well.

something that you could do to make turning around during the moon lord fight easier during future challenge runs would be setting up teleporters at the edges of the world so that you can just teleport behind Moon Lord when nearing the edge of the world

Despite many content creators would've just grab all the items from a cheat server or playing in journey mode, you have the patience to grind everything from the START everytime you do a new challenge, and I appreciate that.

Just being honest here, love your content always, but I would have liked to see pre-hard mode a bit - even if its the same as every other playthrough lol, something about seeing the progression is satisfying. That being said, I enjoyed the video without the pre-hard mode progression! 10/10

Honestly, Chlorophyte armour's crystal deals pretty good damage on its own, it's always weird to see it in x weapon only playthroughs since if the weapon is bad enough the crystal will deal more DPS than it. (I don't think it's enough to invalidate a run like this though, and avoiding the set bonus would be annoying.) On that note, Chlorophyte armour-only playthrough please! You'd have to have some exception for things it doesn't automatically target like Cultist summoning illusions though.
Well it is a gungnir only run and the crystal is a weapon so yeah.
Ngl I would've enjoyed watching you shred through pre hardmode, then suddenly struggle in hardmode

I thought this was going to be a batshit insane run where he starts by getting the npc combat book one by blood moon fishing and he kills the wall of flesh this way, then he finds the wizard, buys the tome, shimmer transmutes it, beats skeletron prime, and then crafts the gungnir

Instead of having to pour the honey bucket over and over again, why did you not use honey bubbles? They work really well and you can make them of any size.

On for the worthy legendary mode skeletron prime can mess up your land, because it's bomb destroyed tiles and and also does not go through platforms.

5:23 Nope, had no idea about this because I've never fought this boss before and it is not something most people mention because, I guess, they assume "everyone knows".
I've actually done very little in actual Hard Mode for a long while. I _have_ a world and character that's got a lot of Hard Mode gear but it was a long time ago before many of the updates were made and bosses introduced. Never fought Golem, Fishron, Queen Slime, or Empress let alone any of the post-Golem stuff.
