    In the burning of Atlanta scene, where you see red butler, leading a horse and wagon as a building collapses behind him, was an actuality the gate set from king Kong. The fire was so big that he panics the surrounding area because nobody thought of telling the neighborhood that they were going to burn the set.

    I actually just watched King Kong for the first time at 1 am this morning; I think those who say it's the best movie ever are right in saying that; I thought it was great, the acting, the sets, the stop motion animation, while stop motion has gotten more sophisticated over time, is still amazing to look at; I just really loved it; looking forward to showing it to my Grandma.

      @@MindMazeEntertainment it's a great film I would recommend watching the most dangerous game from 1932 or the invisible man movies,Frankenstein movies too😊

    The scene with king Kong is trying to reach Driskel in the cave is a projection. You must remember that this movie was the Star Wars of its day. 11 processes either improved upon or invented for this production.

      This film's greatness isn't just about the sfx; we also get a great story with some timeless themes. KING KONG has it all and it all comes together beautifully.

      It was more than the Star Wars of its day. It was totally unique. Star Wars wasn't even unique in it's time. Logans Run, Superman etc were all being made at the same time.

    The map paintings in the background is supposed to be hazy and slightly blurry because they were gone for a Gustave Dore style of painting, and if you have a looked at real life, you notice that things do get fuzzy and blurry as the further they get from you

    9:32 "they didnt kill something needlessly"
    Im sorry but if im stranded on an unknown island with large bloodthirsty preestoric animals no one knows anything about, im killing what i deem a threat.
    That dinosaur also charged at them first, they needed to put it down to make sure it wouldnt come back up and potentially attack them

    Reason why they changed the King Kong attraction at Universal was because the original with the giant Kong animatronic went up in flames one day and they redid it in a safer way, with just a screen

    • @MindMazeEntertainment
      @MindMazeEntertainment  Рік тому

      I was referring to the Kong attraction in the Universal Orlando park, which was probably the same ride, but they ended up replacing it with The Mummy back in 2002. I actually enjoyed it more than the remake, was more fun and had more of a ride than the new one.

    great reaction! This Movie should be recognised for the ground breaking masterpiece it was for its time. Jurassic park is the closest to this in terms of blowing peoples minds with what was presented on screen

      Jurassic was the first film I saw twice in theaters because of how mind blowing it was, and iv seen it in IMAX and in 3d when they rereleased it in 2013. Great comparison to King Kong in terms of advancement in filmmaking

    Yeah, the hair on the model Kong would move, but I've heard people say that it makes it look even more realistic that way, as if it were being blown around in a breeze. In this day and age, the dolls do look rather phony, what with being able to pause shots, look them over & over, etc. but I'm betting in depression era 1933 when going to a movie was a luxury for a lot of folks that the doll shots are brief enough that they wouldn't have been noticed nearly as much and especially if you only got to see the movie once. Is the last 5 minutes of your commentary like that on purpose? I had to take off one side of my headphones as the echo was really distracting.

    • @MindMazeEntertainment
      @MindMazeEntertainment  Рік тому +1

      Sorry about the echo. That definitely wasn't on purpose and didn't realize it. I must have moved one of the audio layers over by a fraction in editing and it came out echoed. My apologizes.

    Even though the dinosaurs are pretty good, somebody should’ve told Willis O’Brien that brontosauruses are herbivores

    • @austingillum4807

      I personally always figured the brontosaurus just crushed the sailers in its jaws and left the bodies behind afterward without actually eating them…

    Actually, the Kong wall that is shown was full size and was on the lot for several years, being finally destroyed in the "burning of Atlanta" scene in Gone With The Wind in 1939. What I always wondered was, why build a door in a wall big enough for a giant to come through if you didn't want the giant to be able to come through? Why not instead put a people size door in the wall to take your sacrifices through, lol.

    • @MindMazeEntertainment
      @MindMazeEntertainment  Рік тому +1

      lol Now that you point that out about the door size it's funny that I've not ever noticed that in the thirty plus years I've been watching it. Never knew that about the wall. They went big back then with set builds, bigger then than today in many ways.

    One of the greatest films of all time; in my top ten list. Yes, of course it is tainted by its overt racism and that is only excusable--for its time--because that was the dominant culture back then. by the way, you call it "claymation" a few times. Clay was used to sculpt the basic puppet form and as a model for the over-sized animatronic bust, but the puppet itself was, beneath the rabbit fur, made up of layers of foam rubber and latex built over the metal armature.

    • @MindMazeEntertainment
      @MindMazeEntertainment  Рік тому

      Claymation is the technique they used in making Kong move by taking a still and moving the character a little at a time to create movement. It's also known as stop-motion, which is more widely used. Definitely ahead of its time.

    • @Rebel9668
      @Rebel9668 Рік тому

      @@MindMazeEntertainment I've only ever heard it called "claymation" in the latter mid 80's with the popularity of The California Raisins figures. 99% of the time I've heard it referred to as stop motion animation...unless I'm watching the special features on a Ray Harryhausen disc where they always have the "Dyna-mation" video, lol.

    • @WillCWilson
      @WillCWilson Рік тому

      @@Rebel9668People had lots of fancy names for stop motion back then; Will Vinton [California Raisins] called it "Claymation", Rankin/Bass [Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer] called it "Animagic", Art Clokey [Gumby, Davey and Goliath] called it "Trimensional Animation", etc., but the general term has always been stop motion animation.

      I thought the original The Thing was good, but also believe the 1982 remake is even better, same with IT!, Casino Royale and Dune. Regardless if it's good or bad the remakes will never diminish the original film.
