Louise, you have done the Agapanthus proud. Its lovely! They are flowering here too though not as a weed but as an indigenous lily. There are so many lovely, unique indigenous plants in South Africa, I would love to see you paint more of them!

Weeds, I wish agapanthus grew like weeds in my SW Florida yard! The first one I planted died in short order. Louise I do believe this is the first of your classes I am actually going to attempt. I am a fairly new patreon student though I have been enjoying your youTube videos for several months now.

It's hard to believe that these lovely flowers are weeds. Some of the most common flowers are the loveliest, Queen Anne's lace is one of my favorites. You've done a gorgeous job of this painting!

For anyone not a Patreon of Louise then I urge you to join, Louise is so very generous with her sharing of her talent and takes so much time to get it all perfect for us - amazing! Just have to say Louise - if you ever give up painting - there is a career in comedy waiting for you - love the ends of your videos!! Keep well.

I love this demo... thank you. I love your story of the “weeds”. When we moved to our home 10 years ago I had an opposite experience.... I was told a plant with lovely white flowers was a weed and would take over our garden.... so many hours later of removing the plants and roots, I visited a green house to replace the plants.... and what do I see.... the plants I just removed!

Watercolor was my favorite subject in college, but I dropped my art degree and did something else (math hahaha! Seriously.) Now that my kids are grown I’ve come back to watercolor and your tutorials have even taken it up a notch. Your technique is different than I learned in college, but as I always told my kids you can learn different things from different coaches. I watch at least one of your videos a week.
I have to add that I love your confidence in showing us the bloopers at the end. I can totally identify and it makes you even more lovable. I’d love to have coffee (or tea) with you some day!

Btw, love your work, your incredibly lovely home(and landscape with it’s critters!), and the way that you teach. I.e.you’re voice, technique, etc. You’re quite gifted, Louise! I love your work. 🥰I am an artist, and my favorite medium/technique is pen and ink, most specifically stippling………however, I have always wanted to add a pop of color! I love the vibrant, vivid colors that you can achieve with watercolor….which is also probably why I am drawn to nature…I have had two(1/2) careers! I was an illustrator/draftsman for The US Navy, then as a civilian, I worked in veterinary med. I love all things that my Father created! All animals, especially birds…and also flowers. I would love to do a series of birds, wildlife, sea life, and plants! Of course my desire outweighs my ability, that’s for sure! I am only 58, but I have a rare form of kidney disease that I have had for 25 years, and I also now have heart disease. I had a pacemaker implanted last December. Unfortunately my ideas for pieces, and my physical ability to complete them doesn’t seem to match up!🤣 I would love to take some of your classes, and am just trying to ascertain which is the best way to go about it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks so much Louise!
P.S. thanks again for sharing your beautiful country with us! God bless you and your family!

Thanks Karen. Yes I was reading about them. They are classed as a weed because they escape into bushland and also onto pasture areas where the roots and leaves are poisonous to livestock. I've got them popping up all over the place in areas of the garden where we didn't plant them.
