Take note that i only had this issue when trying to connect my iPhone XR or iPhone XS to my Windows 10 laptop, however all previous iPhone models worked no problem.
Please comment on what step worked for you.
iTunes could not connect to this iphone. An unknown error occurred (0xe80000a) or (0xe800000a)

5 minutes of your video just beat 2 and a half hours of Apple's "tech geniuses". Thanks a lot dude you deserve all the praise in the world
I worked for Apple as a contractor for AppleCare for the better part of 5 years, I specialized in all iOS and MacOS devices within the last 7 years. I was good at my job, my customer surveys were mostly extremely positive, and my supervisor was happy with the support I was able to give. Found a workaround from the background bug forums we had for an issue with the (then) new iPhone 7, but I forget what it was now.
They never taught us about the Lockdown folder. You gave me the answer I needed to fix an issue I've been fighting with for hours.
Your first solution of deleting the lockdown folder and a reboot worked for my 6s - thanks!
Dude, holy smokes, THANK YOU!!! The first step worked exactly as you said it would! I've had to carry around a cheap little mp3 player on account of iTunes actually rewriting my new phone and then that error kept me from uploading all of my old music onto it.
Now I can listen to all of the good stuff I loved! You are wonderful.
Also, found you while googling how to fix this message. THANK YOU!
The second solution worked for me. Why couldn't I have found your exceptionally simply explained video before?!?! I've been working on this for months to no avail, and then your video was recommended to me and I fixed my problem in a twinkling. Thank you!
You're a god amongst men my dude. Had to deal with this problem for so long!
YOU ARE AMAZING! I actually had the same issue with my ipod touch, used your first solution and resolved it right away. I was so close to smashing this against a wall after troubleshooting for three hours.
omg i was already thinking of buying a new iphone usb cable bc i tried everything but nothing worked but i watched this video. thanks so much dude! x
Didn't have time to watch whole video but, I deleted the error codes as suggested and now my iPad backs up perfectly. Brilliant. Many thanks.
Thanks Bro. This helped me. I was looking for the solution all over the internet for days. But here I got the solution . Now my iPhone got connected to my windows PC. Thanks once again.
I've been having this issue with my daughter's phone since December, I wiped it 3 times. Thank you ! great video
THANK YOU!!! I tried so many other things to get my iTunes working with my iPhone and nothing worked until I tried the steps in your video. Legend!!
THANK YOU! I thought I lost 2 years of stuff from my old phone ! I just deleted the files and updated iTunes, much appreciated !!
This worked for me as well! OMG, thank you so much! I spent days trying to get my iPhone 6S to sync back up with my HP ENVY computer running Windows 10, and nothing I tried worked until this! This video is well done, is easy to follow, shows you step by step what to do, what folders to open, and what to delete so you can get back up and connected to iTunes again! For reference my iTunes was up to date, and my iPhone 6S was also updated to the latest IOS, so step one of the video worked for me on the first try!
Spent over an hour on phone with Apple Support to no avail. Finally checked for online help. Worked after removing Lockdown folder and rebooting. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!
Thank you! This worked on my wife's computer. I deleted that folder, rebooted, deleted iTunes, rebooted, then reinstalled iTunes. In 2016 I had the same problem and ended up buying a Mac to replace my PC, just so my iPhone, iPad, and computer would all play nicely together. (Backing up your iPhone on a Mac doesn't require iTunes.) I since got Apple TV too and it plays nicely with the others too.
You're awesome man! thank you so much!
- First step was all it took, even without rebooting.
It works! You're a legend. Step 1 got my iPhone 6 connected.
Oh my God THANK YOU, I searched for so many fixes and yours was the only one that worked
The only guy in the internet that solve my problem.
Thank SO much.
So true.
I was looking for the solution all over the internet but here only I got the perfect solution. Now my iPhone got connected to my windows 10.
Thanks for the video.
Deleting the lockdown then the restart got my iPhone XS Max connected! Thank you!
You are my Hero ! The first step of deleting the folder and re starting the computer worked for my iPad mini. Been trying for a week to fix this. Thank you so very much!!!!
I don’t speak fluent English and still i could understand everything and it worked. I love u. You saved my life
Fabulous advice! Saved me hours of agony. You are a super star. Thank you
Thank you for this, took a while but your video actually helped me with my daughters iphone 5s as well.
It worked for me. I had to delete the "lockdown" file, restart and I also suggest just deleting iTunes entirely and then installing fresh from the website. That is a lot faster than trying to go through the update process in the software.
*Thanks for the help, sir!*
Who's here in November 2020? Please give this man a medal! Deleted LOCKDOWN and it worked! The irony with Covid-19 and all 🤣

Just like to say a BIG Thank You. This fix worked for my iphone 6s plus. Followed some apple instructions, without success, to get the phone recognized so it would then be able to install a backup. Just followed your clear instructions ... the program data wasn't hidden. Only had to do the first step to achieve success. Woohoo!!!

So many options on the web for fixing this error so my ipad could be recognized, but they involve deleting a bunch of files... scary for an amateur like me, worried I might do some unfixable damage.
