I've trained wushu but stopped for a while and when I saw that video reminds me of the importance of having trained, and because of this video I came back to practice, thanks dude.
These are merely kids in action. Their adult masters are in a different category altogether. Not saying the kids are bad or anything. They are enjoyable to watch. Probably the best acrobatic martial arts video I have ever seen. Thumbs up.
I study southern kung fu but I must say this is quite impressive / entertaining to watch. Thumbs up for the performers, and the video creator. Well done.
Nice photography with track sound i must say its wonderful, despite other language but i herd it many times, hy must upload more i wish to click you again and again, keep it up my warm support is with you, press Like and waiting for another like this. Thanks
Wushu is wonderful, to say it's impossible is a terrible thing to say, once your passion is there it doesn't die, only if you let it, Your still young and your driven believe and just never give in to doubt...
This is a visually beautiful sport. Wish they would add this to the Olympics. I am here because I am a fan of EXO-M Tao, who is Chinese and and who in middle school won a national championship in this sport. His "teaser" videos is the first time I ever saw wushu. I am now a new fan of the sport/art form after watching this video.
I used to do wushu at a old wushu school in my area. But shortly after I joined it discontined there wushu classes. And now I'm a college student who is in a current searhc for a job. So even if I did find another wushu school I dont have the time or money to start again. In the short time I studied wushu I felt that my dreams of become this awesome gravity defying martial artist would come true, but now its gone. Whenever I watch video like this, it makes me very sad.....
these guys are unbelievable i mean 1.there are very young 2.there body control is perfekt i respect them P.S. i really don`t like rock musik but this song in this video is very good :)
This is freakin awesome, and for people who think that Wushu can't be used in fight; Wushu is NOT a fighting style ! Its a performance art , but if you wanna fight with Kungfu, then train Kung Fu Toa, Iran kungfu. As you know, there is difference Kung fu styles, and wushu is not for fighting but performance. Im training too and that doesn't mean i can fight
Fantastic! Amazing athletes... I did copious amounts of wushu - I used to get the critique "It doesn't work, it's just for show..." etc. If applied correctly wushu is as efficient as any other martial art. I have fought muay thai fighters, bjj-fighters (chinas work miracles on the floor) etc. and won. Wushu is as impressive as it looks!
WuShu is NOT just a sport. It is even not just a martial art. It's a way of living. For instance training or doing stuff which is hard to do for you more and more until you are able to do it and become skillful. But this you can do in all parts of your life; Learning, Cooking or Music(Thats also called Gongfu). WuShu also starts with learning manners, learning to understand WuShu, respect your teacher, your training, your mates and to understand yourself. It is a complete System.
agree, don't be restricted by doctrines and thousands of years of accepted development. be open minded. However it is good to keep tradition. it is not always about being invincible rather keeping the art.
Awesome I love this video. I took wushu for about 8 years and I think I'm pretty good but not that good. Its very acrobatic and very good for conditioning, but if your looking for a practical martial arts I would consider mma, or if you want something closer to this stuff you should take sang da. They don't teach you how to fight in wushu, they teach you how to perform. But that doesn't mean you can't use any of it in a fight.
I don't really know a lot about wushu, but it looks sweet. Do a lot of wushu people end up being fight choreographers for movies? Seems like they'd be good at it.
People learn martial arts for two different reasons: for sport and for self-defense. I personally learn street-oriented martial arts, but I do understand and appreciate that many practice these styles for recreational purposes. Plus, in modern society, many people forget that the famous martial artists are usually in their 40's and 50's for a reason. It takes time to learn martial arts, you don't just get good by attending a few classes a week, it takes years of hard work and training.
Wushu is more for aesthetic purpose, just fluid movements and forms. Wing Chun can be applied to real self defense, and will work on your blocking and close quarter fighting. Wushu would be good for flexibility and acrobatic moves. Take your pick.
beutiful and i do kung fu my style is tien shan pai ku shu and wu shu style im a 3d dgree brown belt and tell me if you do any kung fu cuz i mite see you at baltimore the inernationals this summer
Chinese Kongfu is a combat role, that's why ancient Chinese army so powerful, it decline in the industrial revolution in the west. Now only be retained as an art.
All the asian kids at my school talk about their wushu classes. LOL. It's hilarious cause they bring it up at the most random times and make it funny :]
Im a bit to old and simply too large a build to ever consider Wushu. (35 yrs old, 6'10 and 250lbs) However, it works well to my advantage in Brazillion Jui Jitsu and Muy Thai which Ive been taking fo the last year. Its a beautifull martial art. I wish I could master something like that.
Refer to the movie "Fearless" starring Jet Li for some somewhat realistic Wushu fighting...I really wish I would have picked up on Wushu at a young age..well I wish I COULD pick up on it now. No schools in my area..but I'm somewhat happy with Krav Maga.
I have long been extremely interested in martial arts. Taking classes have not been an option for me in the past, but now with my own car and a paying job i can finally learn. First off, does anyone have suggestions of which arts i should look into? WuShu has always interested me, but would it be a thing that i would be able to pick up as a 16 year old without much current acrobatic ability? Just had a few questions and was hoping some of you would have some insight. Thanks
wushu are two words in chinese. Wu means "performing", Shu means "physical artform". So basically, it's a performance, incorporating cool stuff from many schools of kung fu into something that looks impressive. It's like taking running, jumping, and bouncing a ball: all three things are different and can be a sport in their own right, but when combined, you have basketball.
haha, awesome xD im thinkin about learning kung fu myself since im partially Chinese and my grandpa wanted to teach me personally.. shame he died when i was 7 :( cancer sucks..
@calwudude I apologize if I did not make my statement clear. Seeing you knew alot about Wushu I thought you might have known, but apparently not. Wushu does condition the body, but in what way? Flexibility, timing, reflexes, yes, but not in blocking (hardening the limbs so that it would be effective), how can you fight if you can't even block?
@zigzigerblat Thanks mate :) haha yeah I actually do train in Wushu, amongst a few other styles in my life so I guess I have a general understanding. And you are correct, Kung Fu means Earned skill and Wushu means the art of combat.
if anyone say it is a movie type of fighting should give it a try. These young people spend their whole life practising, the discipline is beyond your imagination, hope you did not spot any wires, haha!...you just jealous!!!!! They are amazing really. Very proud of them.
@N1ck3lam its never to late to learn kung fu, i have a 70 year old man doing it in my school and his taichi is amazing, ofcourse in Wushu theres more than 300 styles of chinese martial arts, you should be good with atleast one of those.
Just like wushu, wrestling takes endurance, strength, skill, and years of training. Dont underestimate wrestling, its just putting yourself on the same level as people who underestimate wushu.
It's finally nice to see more girls doing Wushu. I do Wushu and let's just say that the normal class of 20 students, there is only another girl and me.
i wanna try and learn that shit but..look at it..can you imagine how much hard work and dedication you need to learn that..i learned about wushu from Jet Li Fearless :P
@AFroHenne Yeah, I wish there were Wu shu teachers near where I lived. These kids are just doing show off, Wu shu gets really tight around the battle field. I guess not many people study it seriously anymore. But yes, your instincts are the most important thing to train when learning martial arts.
0:40 to 0:45, and 0:56 to 1:00, these are the same. These two are amazing, does anyone know where this took place? Or their names? I'd like to see more of their work, fully. Thanks!
Apparently, Wikipedia is lying, because it says that Wushu "was developed in China after 1949, in an effort to standardize the practice of traditional Chinese martial arts".
@Matamune87 you're kind of right, however, it is still martial arts but it is in the demonstration form, its very common in china, it may not teach self defense of course but most of the techniques have a strong root from several martial arts, because the movements are a little similar, think of it as "martial arts dancing" lol.
@xavan312 When you say condition, you are referring to having an advantage as a Brazillian juijitsu practicioner right? When you say Wushu are you referring to the one with all the flips and fancy moves that are similar to or the same as the video posted above?
Such a beautiful style. Can't wait to learn this.
I've trained wushu but stopped for a while and when I saw that video reminds me of the importance of having trained, and because of this video I came back to practice, thanks dude.
Not as good without story of the year....
Mark Banks
These are merely kids in action. Their adult masters are in a different category altogether. Not saying the kids are bad or anything. They are enjoyable to watch. Probably the best acrobatic martial arts video I have ever seen. Thumbs up.
damn. i would gladly train my entire life to get to the point were they are O.o awesome
I study southern kung fu but I must say this is quite impressive / entertaining to watch. Thumbs up for the performers, and the video creator. Well done.

***** Oh, cool, I wish to learn it aswell, but there are no wushu trainers where I live
Tomas Kapr to all dudes not getting it.. it is in fact a joke.
No Japanese can do this.
In history, Frist ninjas are Chinese (lived in ancient Japan) come from ancient China.
i love how wushu is more of an entertainement rather than a fight. thats what makes it so fun to watch
Really great video!
Wushu, to me, is one of the most beautiful art forms. :D
Woow, I never seen this demostration before...thanks for the video, Amazing!!!
.....Woooww that was an overload of awesomeness, and why have I only found out about Wushu now? Awesome video. 5/5
this was first video i watched in youtube. still love this!

Still watching this in 2013. Still an amazing video.

You can do a high kick at fifty. Even with the hip poping, that's pretty awesome and I'd like to have as much resilience as you when I reach fifty.
