My grandfather (who, among other professions, was a session pianist and played with a bunch of popular jazz musicians throughout the 40s and 50s), listened to Django Reinhardt growing up and introduced the music to my dad, who introduced the music to me. I'm probably not going to have kids, but when I have nieces or nephews, I'll make sure they hear this.
More magic from the maestro. I have greatest respect for anyone who overcomes any sort of physical handicap, but Django almost re-invented the wheel with his adopted style. Brilliant!

Tony Iommi's initial inspiration - there was a very strong Jazz influence evident in much of Black Sabbath's discography. Air Dance, Breakout, Wicked World, Sweet Leaf immediately spring to mind.

@@deathmagneto-soy almost 100%…it was Tony’s boss who bought him the albums after he suffered the injury Tony loved the music and it was the boss who told him that Django had similar disabilities and he wanted Tony to continue on the guitar cos he had talent too

Fantastic soloist, of course, but hardly anyone ever mentions what a sublime rhythm player he was. He carried the whole band. I don't do solos, but I managed to get some musical success out of studying his rhythm playing like mad.
