Hello, greetings from Ireland :) At approximately 6:03 in the video I have placed the subtitle "press the brake pedal a few times before driving the car" this is to as you have mentioned bring the pedal back to its normal state.
Maybe it's a good idea to change the brake fluid too. BTW: I don't think copper grease is the best for this (ATE Plastilube is better I think). BTW2: I'm using the same torque wrench.
John McDonald Yes the brake fluid got a full flush on this car, not just because one of the rear callipers had failed but also because it was a dark brown colour. Im editing at that video currently. Copper grease is grand if its metal on metal I've never had any issues with it. The red rubber grease is used to stop any rubber parts from swelling.
wow! thank you so much, I will subscribe to your channel. And one last question, last weekend I tried to change the petrol filter (fuel filter), my car is a Xsara 1.6 16v SX from 2002 (Phase 2), but was impossible, because the filter can't be move left or right, or even up and down. It seems that the fuel tank should be released a little, and then the gasoline filter will be accessible. I'm right?
Hi! Thanks a lot for your videos! The low guide pin (it has a rubber cilindre part on it) i feel that makes hard to move because it make vacuum when i test it with new grase. On the 5:55 i see that top guide run more freely than the low guide ( i refer to this part). On the 3:53 i see better movement on the low guide ping. Do i need a new rubber part of this guide pin?
The slide pins should move freely. Have the bores been cleaned out thorougly first to remove old grease/corrosion? The rubber boot prevents dirt getting in which could cause wear, they can be replaced along with the pins.
Meu amigo. Bom dia. Pois me passei aqui e me atrapalhei na colocação dos comandos.e enpenou valvulas.
Ok. Eu fiz o motor. Só que misturei os comandos de valvulas. As engrenagens e as chavetas. Ok. Me dê uma ajuda. E chegou a enpenar as valvulas todas. Obrigado pela sua atenção. Fiquei muito feliz. Obrigado. E boa noite
Those stupid torx countersunk bolts are a pita on these, same on Peugoets of similar years. God knows why the french have such a hard on for them, they are always rusted and useless. Cool videos as usual.
darkwaterblue They are okay if copper grease was used. I reckon enough time with wd40 or similar to seep in (atf and acetone works well) or heat and the bolt might be persuaded to come out. However i had the MOT test coming soon and needed to get these out quickly. Generally the torx ones are not too bad there is at least a chance, someone used star head bolts in the back disks and there was no chance of getting them out.
I have to do this job in my Xsara but I don't know what pieces to buy. What rotors and pads should I get? At least the sizes?

Nice video, do you have a tutorial from the back brake pads? Thanks

More so a replacement of the rear calliper but it should cover the pads

Obrigado.
