      Yep. They gave my niece and her dealer boyfriend 9 different "safety plans" over a 3 year period. The kids were living in filth, with actual shit on the floor. They finally took the kids, but only because the parents were arrested and charged with felony child endangerment after the cops were called out for a fight and saw drugs on the table. CYS was there 2 days before and were actually going to close the case at the end of the month.

    • @louderthanwordsInclusivity
      @louderthanwordsInclusivity 5 місяців тому

      @@crazychase98 everyone who disagrees with you isn’t an addict you weirdo, and most addicts don’t say that, most with Substance use disorder in America have been indoctrinated by a non medical or science based cult like concept from the 12 strep program NA rhetoric, and parrot other weird ass made up information, that doesn’t include “they can’t help it”.
      (And before continuing, just to stop your likely very restricted critical thinking on topics that you have already been programed by the society you grew up in such as this topic here, no, I am not “an addict” either. I was raised by and even removed from my mother who is however, and have put a lot of time and energy into studying this field in general.)
      I wouldn’t say they can’t help it necessarily no. All disorders are much more complex than that. But I will say simply pretending like substance use disorder is a chosen issue and someone with it can just “choose to stop when they want” when the entire nature of the disorder is that they CANT, or it wouldn’t be an issue. Majority of people who use substances don’t develop SUD and CAN just stop. But those with SUD show a completely different functioning of portions of the brain, including the portion of the brain that controls survival instincts, with identical activity taking place during active addiction as what occurs during starvation, IE their brain literally believes they are going to die without the substance subconsciously, and therefore this causes identical desperation and reflexes as what one who is starving to death would experience regarding accessing and consuming food to prioritize survival, With over 75% having comorbid psychiatric or Neurodevelopmental disorders present prior to the development of SUD.
      We also KNOW for a fact that countries who follow the similar ideology and societal views of the US, similar to the US maintain the worst substance use disorder epidemics in the entire world, with the countries who have evidence based views and procedures in place instead have the lowest rates of substance use disorder and best rates of recovery, with countries like Portugal showing that when they switched abruptly from “drug war/moral model” approach to evidence based treatment and societal views, they actually solved their opioid epidemic completely within less than 10 years-not to mention many of their treatment programs have up to a 96% long term, success rate, compared to the 5-10% success rate of the treatment method used in 98% of American treatment programs, including those mandated by drug court and CPS.
      So we obviously KNOW that the views that you yourself hold (which I can accurately infer just based on you assuming anyone who says anything about addiction you disagree with or don’t like being an addict, EXACTLY what your views are, they are not unique or special as they are the same views held since the US switched to the moral model over 100 years ago which led to the rapid increase of Substance use disorder/addiction problems and began as a political move initially, and hasn’t changed since then despite the mountains of research evidence we now have) are just not entirely accurate-because if they were, they wouldn’t have contributed to the issue worsening in every country that overwhelmingly aligns with those views, and improving in every country that leaves these views in favor of what science and medicine, and the ever increasing evidence, supports.
      So in short-the countries who only blame the people with Substance use disorder/addiction and treat them as bad people, punish them, shame them, etc, are the same countries who are failing miserably with the issue taking over, with more and more children growing up to repeat the cycle.
      The countries who treat substance use disorder/addiction like the mental disorder that we know factually from brain imaging that it is and support getting them intensive intervention and help rapidly instead of punishment, have the best rates, majority of addicts recover and live normal lives, majority of children receive treatment for any trauma experienced from having a mentally ill parent and then are raised by a parent who is successfully treated and in remission and they are less likely to repeat the cycle going forward so we see Decreasing numbers of SUD as opposed to increasing despite population incline.
      So at some point you have to drop the random insults to anything that questions your restricted cycle of thinking, and recognize that maybe the core views you have were programmed by your societal teachings as opposed to a conclusion you yourself came to from real education and knowledge on the subject?

CPS is therefore obligated to protect those children. We've established the parents are out of their fqkn minds. Those children should not have been in that home. CPS failed the children. The "adults" in that home were obliterated and beyond the point of being able to parent. Of course the parents shouldn't be drug addicts without a doubt. Instead of $14.50 an hour, let’s start them at $30.00 an hour-which, still is not a living wage, but it’s for the entry level positions. Then, supervisors and managers start at $75K per year. These wages are not exorbitant and would help, somewhat attract professionals. Teachers should start at $65K and teachers in training or assistants start at $50,000. Both fields need bonus pay incentives…based on testing results. It’s not rocket science, these solutions.

I work in Healthcare and see it first hand. For everyone that they successfully help one or more falls through the cracks. People complain but wouldn't do the job themselves. Similar to people complaining about the mental health crisis and not enough facilities.The problems start in the home. Society has changed dramatically and people wonder why there's an overwhelming crisis. I worked acute care for 25 years. I saw many child abuse cases. I never saw a single case where the children were protected from their horrible parents. In 1979 we had a 3 year old with a head trauma caused by her father, admitted. The hospital was part of the Sisters of Charity. The child had neurosurgery, and was our patient for close to a year. Initially an armed guard was posted to keep her parents away. She had her 4th birthday with us, she had to learn to walk again and had lost most of her vision except some shadow vision. The other children in the home were never removed and when the little girl was discharged, she was sent back to the home with the same people that injured her. I still think of and wonder about her to this day. Never expect a single government agency to be efficient, cost effective or to do their job. I could write a book about the failures and vindictive nature of CPS.

      I'm so sorry how this has haunted you. In 1979 I was a kid myself and I watched a TV movie called "Mary Jane Harper Died Last Night." It was about a little girl whose mother constantly beat her but the court wouldn't remove her from her bio mom and also the dad only wanted his own freedom with no responsibility for the child. At the end of the movie, the court judges secretary got a phone call from the police and she turned to the judge and said "Sir, that little Mary Jane Harper died last night!" And the judge that let the crazy mom keep the girl looked up in shock as he realized the awful mistake he made, because now the mom had beaten her daughter to death... And that ended the movie. I have never forgotten that show and it's been over 40 years since I saw it.

      Where are all the wonderful homes, with loving and caring substitute parents, for these children to be taken to? There are not enough places of safety for the horrific numbers of children out there needing them.
      As a society we need to change, take more notice and care in our communities, if that happened this wouldn’t be as bad.

      @@CazPeaThe desire to “keep the family whole” is huge. My sister neglected her kids. My mother felt she had to sue for custody. They lived with us for a bit, but the judge was always looking for excuses to send them back. My sister was nearly arrested in the courthouse for threatening my mom in front of a sheriff. She was just upset. She was proven to be in contact with the man who was not appropriate for kids to be around. The judge didn’t see a willful act of contempt. She grabbed my niece’s broken arm in a Walmart. My niece needs to obey her mother. She was fired from the court ordered therapist for lying. Everything she said in court should be assumed to be true.
      Ultimately, the older kid was finally able to stay after she became such a nuisance to her mom it was easier to let her go. We were blamed for “coaching” her. The judge was devastated because the kids should be with their mother.
