I consider that final Jet Gatling to be the best knockout in the series. The shot at 20:09 where Lucci's getting hit nine times simultaneously in slow motion is just too good.

What's crazy is that when they did the updated animation. It doesn't look nearly as good as the original. Nothing will top it for me. The slow mo, the heat effect the unsteady camera and then we see a full out jet gatling with conviction like we've never seen from luffy. Man just the best. Plus the flash back to aolkiji talking about Robin, damn I love this anime lol
TBH even if the "Remake" is objectively better when you see a thing for the first time, it's that version that has your emotions and nostalgia attached to it. Another good example of this for me is Trigun remake. I just like the 90's one better. Even though the new one is objectively better quality and animation. @@gcoca7450
I still prefer gum gum storm against Crocodile with New World Symphony playing but this is up there for sure
I used to be a die hard naruto fan but this is the fight that made one piece my favorite anime oat. Luffy really showed true resolve by not falling down. I still use that mentality in the gym to this day.

Although one piece has its flaws as an anime. It hits harder than any anime. Those moments of raw determination of Luffy and his desire to fight on is what makes one piece so good

@@doge_69that's in your perspective, my favorite arc of one piece is wano, and I love the way toei approached the fights in the arc, if you don't like it, it's ok, but it's not like everyone hated it.

Amen brother. The biggest mistake Toei made imo is bringing the DBS team to work on the anime. Flashy moves that take ages to hit, the screen literally puking rainbows at us and none of the raw feeling we used to get before make the fights less interesting narratively. All show and no substance.
When the remake reaches the new world. I hope they keep this level of choreography. Simple attacks with good pace and seamless flow, that's the reason I loved the Lucci fight.

One if the most iconic Fight🔥
The jet gatling was one of the hypest anime fight scene moments of all time because of the build up to it and Luffy's resolve. The pause to the release before saying the move name at 19:57 was one of those little things that the anime made so good!
It is also the FIRST time he used it in the fight catching Lucci completely off guard and Lucci knew there was no way he was gonna dodge it. Oda wrote this so well leaving jet gatling as the final move portraying "giving it your all till you fall."

In my opinion this is the second hardest fight Luffy has fought. The first was with Kaido of course, I don't think his fight with Katakuri is that difficult compared to Lucci. After his fight with Katakuri Luffy still has the strength to carry Brulee and escape the mirror world but here after his fight with Lucci, bcuz of how tired and painful Luffy experienced he couldn't even move an inch is like he got paralyzed just from close combating Lucci. No Haki, No overpowered devil fruits just pure strength and will to win.
