I flew on this aircraft! A little while back when American used 772s for international routes. AA175 DFW-NRT, May 25, 2018. Kinda sad they changed the safety video, and it looks like the wing flaps haven't been cleaned since I last flew on this plane. Great video! Happy to see these 772s still in service!

@@sla31 true and relatable... I remember, one day , i was going to a wedding back in Asia and we ended up getting stranded in Qatar ( 16 hours without a hotel stay ) ... This happened due to Fog , as a result, most of the flights were either cancelled or rescheduled. Mine was rescheduled . The following morning, at approximately 9:00 AM , we were due to depart with a planned takeoff of 10:45 AM , we were delayed due to other flights leaving non stop, our Aircraft ( Boeing 777 ) was number 5 for departure (as QR 621) inbound for Lahore ( Pakistan).. It was chaos as we departed Doha 1 hour and 45 minutes late.. Eventually after landing in Lahore , we were held back on the Aircraft for a good 30 minutes, this was due to capacity problems ( overload) which resulted in us getting moved to a Remote Stand , here the flight attendants opened up the door ( Front and Back ), after getting of the Aircraft, we then boarded a few buses that took us to the terminal area and walked through 2 double doors, making our way to arrivals area... The Airport was full to its capacity, the customs and passport control zone was clogged up completely, it took another hafty 45 minutes for Me ( together with family members) to walk from the entrance to Passport Control ( this is just the beginning)... Tired and exhausted, we presented various documents ( including the Coronavirus Tests and stuff).. Finally after an eternity, we got through the huge ques and got to Bagage collection points ( we were Belt Number 4) , grabbed our big heavy Suitcases and got the hell out of the terminal area, making our way to the Parking Area ( Multi Story Carpark) .. Yep. My longest time from pushback to takeoff was 52 minutes at jfk, and this was with two runways active for departure: Runway 22R and Runway 31L. Runway 31L was not far from Terminal 5, but it took us 52 minutes to get off the ground. It was also raining too. If I am not wrong, in Miami, usually for east-bound operations, 8R is the only active departure runway.
It’s so rare to see that 777 on interior flights. But I will say I’m looking forward to flying this one to charlotte from Heathrow. Thank you my friend for a lovely video ❤
Nice flight! Looks like there was pretty some pretty bad weather in Miami when you flew to Charlotte. What a great clear high view of my city(Palm Coast, FL) and Bunnell at 1:33:12. Wow! Safe travels.
Hey Skylite. Once again I was thrilled that you were able to video my favorite B777. And if that weren't enough, you provided a perfect view of the flaperon. (Not sure why I am so fascinated by it, but it just looks so cool acting as a combination flap and aileron.) One of the comments below mentioned the howl of the spool up. Well, with all due respect to this aircraft's Rolls Royce Trent 892 engines, I would suggest that the 777s equipped with the GE90-115b leave the RRs in the dust. The GE90 is the most magnificent when it comes to turbine jet sounds. Especially spooling up! By the way, did you notice a lot of corrections on the base leg? Was it particularly windy? I loved that you were on the right side so we could watch the downwind, and the subsequent turns through final. Do you think he was flying the visual approach? I got your email today and I'm glad that at least there is some room for optimism on the medical front. I hope your recent improvements continue and lead to a more permanent solution. Thanks again for this video and for the email. I will reply soon. Take care. Be safe my friend. All the best!
I agree. I love the Rolls Royce Trent’s, but nothing beats the GE90! I do believe this was a visual approach. The weather certainly would’ve allowed for it. I imagine they were doing visual approaches, with visual separation. As for the wind, I don’t remember it being particularly windy, so I’m not sure what all the corrections were about. Take your time replying my friend. As you know, I’m flying for the channel this week anyway.
Thank you for posting! After a stressful workweek, this brings me much-needed relief 😅. How have you been dealing with all the flight delays and cancellations across the country?
Oh it's been fun haha. People always try to glamorize my job. Flying all over just filming flights for other to watch. What they don't see is the delays, cancelations, having to book last minute hotels for $300 etc. haha. It's not always fun and games. I've had quite the run with a couple airlines this summer.
Yes, I've been to both of these airports. Are you sure you took off from MIA and not SEA? That was some serious gloomy, wet weather there. Great view of CLT airport! NC has got some pretty countryside. I visited my father in central NC back in 1991 and loved the rolling countryside. Visited the UNC Chapel Hill campus and also the Moravian village... love those Moravian cookies! Watched the first episode of Season 2 of ST Strange New Worlds. Love the addition of Carol Kane as the ship's new chief engineer. Anyhow, another fine video... time to go watch today's episode of General Hospital.
No he took of from MIA! you can clearly see that there was a lot of AA planes and the terminal also looked like it was MIA. Otherwise why would he put MIA as the departure airport in the title. Also AAs 772s dont fly to SEA
@mustafizchoudhury4853 he was joking my friend. He was being facetious. That said, American's 777's do fly to Seattle. American has a SEA-LHR flight after all. I saw it just a few days ago and it is operated by a 772.
There are several reason why airlines in the US often use large wide body aircraft on such short domestic routes. United Airlines even has a full sub fleet of 777-200's specifically configured for domestic use. Here are some of the main reasons. First, sometimes people forget how massive and populated the United States is. For the example in this video, which is Miami to Charlotte, let's just look at the base populations for a second. Together, their total metro populations is over 9 million people. That is more base population between those two cities than a good number of countries in the world. So, with that many people alone in the markets, it justifies flying large wide bodies. You won't have any trouble filling them up. Second, MIA and CLT are both major hubs for American. They have to funnel tons of people between those two hubs everyday. Hub to hub routes are always busy for major airlines and you'll often find American, United and Delta running regular wide bodies between hub airports. Again, there's already a major base of passengers between the two markets, and they also have to fly a lot of connecting passenger through there too. Third, sometimes they just need to fill a wide bodies time. And what I mean by that is something like this. Say American has a 777-300 flight from London to Miami, but they then want to use that plane to fly Dallas to Madrid. Maybe both of those flights can be completed in one 24 hour period. Well, why not reposition that plane with passengers, so it's still making money. So, instead of doing LHR-MIA then sitting for hours before heading back to LHR, or LHR-MIA and then ferrying the plane empty to operate DFW-MAD, instead the plane does LHR-MIA-DFW-MAD. Which optimizes the planes time and means it doesn't have to sit in Miami for 8 hours or fly a ferry leg. And last, airline crews have to perform so many flights on each aircraft type in set amounts of days to remain "current" on the type. Sometimes that can be difficult to do if you only operate 15 777-300's and they're always operating 12 hour flights. So, sometimes large planes are used to operate short routes to give crew the segments and availability needed to keep them all current. These are some of the main reasons why US airlines use wide bodies on such short routes. Hope that helps
Great fly! How long is the drive between two airports? And also, the Titan that I mentioned, have you heard the USCG found a debris and all 5 people were killed by a implosion earlier today?
It is a 10.5 hour to drive between Miami and Charlotte. Of course, the flight is usually about an hour quicker than this as we had to wait about an extra hour for takeoff due to the weather. And yes, I saw the news about the Titan sub.
@mustafizchoudhury4853 well there's not much you can do about it when it's the weather causing the problem. I'd rather sit for an extra hour in line than have my flight canceled.
What a waste of fuel! More than 40 minutes waiting for entering the runway. AA really has wasted a lot of fuel on that long queue with so many AA aircrafts. Is that normal in KMIA?
No. That’s not normal. Due to the weather and ATC staff shortages, MIA was down to one runway. This was not AA’s fault, or even really within their control.
I guess I can't blame the airline for not scrubbing the wing. If it was me I wouldn't trust anyone except Boeing or Airbus to clean an airplane. Too many sensitive gizmos and sensors.
American how much does it take during normal maintenance to spray degreaser an clean off the Wing flaps? Enter cricket sounds here. A tell-tale sign of shotty maintenance one can only imagine the other unseen parts are filthy & unkept. Nice to see you care about your passengers view. Grease & Dirt Award goes to American Airlines. What an embarrassment.

Yeah, the pesky weather had them down to one runway haha. But, I'd rather sit for an extra hour than have my flight cancelled.

Flaps need a clean
They don’t clean them because it doesn’t affect the plane. The time used cleaning them
is also time the plane could be in the sky making money
@@aviationcentral6742 But that can increase corrosion which can be in safety hazard if isn't clean.
