    Thanks so much for the upload, Appreciate the full flight! It really gives you a sense of just how much the country below you changes! I believe N837AW was the old Arizona Cardinals livery when it operated for US Airways!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Рік тому +1

      I believe you're correct. I think I remember seeing that this was the old Arizona Cardinals A319 when I originally looked it up. Pretty cool! I've now flown on quite a few aircraft that used to wear special liveries that were now just in the normal colors. Without going back and looking for every instance, I know for sure I've flown on the 777 that used to wear Continental's famous Peter Max colors.

    • @timhubman5052
      @timhubman5052 11 місяців тому

      That's awesome! Its kind of neat to look up the Reg of the aircraft that you fly on to see its history of former colors and Operators. Shows the lifespan of these aircraft in a different way other than just looking at its age in numbers! Always get a kick out of it. @@sla31

    2:36:55 you can hear the PF disconnecting the autopilot on the short final. This is the second video I’ve ever noticed this in. First was an Airbus landing on 27 at SAN.

  • @NovejSpeed3
    @NovejSpeed3 Рік тому +2

    I'd put money this pilot has been living in Phx for sometime. I don't know but I like when pilots give you a "tour" on approach and man that landing was butter. I think ots funny how people get so talkative right before landing. No one talks the whole flights but right before landing everyone becomes best friends 😂. Great video as always!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Рік тому +1

      It's a rare thing these days. I remember when this was commonplace. Now.... A lot of the time you're lucky to hear from the cockpit more than twice. I get some flights in the morning, they're being polite and not wanting to wake people up with tons of announcements, but I really enjoy hearing from the pilots about our route and what we'll see and fly over. Maybe I'm just too old school haha.

    WOWOWOWW!! Good views!! Good job on the part of your captain for skillfully dodging that humungous thunderhead. Amazing to watch how dramatically the landscape changes from green mid-American farmland to the desert SW in on;y 2 and a half hours.
    Back in late December1998, the ticketing agents of TWA at STL did an impromptu strike, leaving the manager having to take care of the .long snakey line. I was lucky in that I was the first person in line so I was helped first. The manager put me up at the Henry the VIII Hotel for the night and rebooked me to SEA with a connection in LAS. She put me in first class and this was the one and only time I ever flew on 1st class in my entire life. I used the time in STL to take the metro train to the downtown to see the sights and to kill the time.
    Well, anyhow, we went over southern KS, along the CO/NM border and then flew over the Grand Canyon on the way to LAS.. Yes, I did indeed take photos of it! It was amazing to see the huge change in scenery from STL to LAS.
    Anyhow, time for me to rest up from the jet lag from watching this video. This is on top of swimming for 40 minutes in the Sound yesterday, so, I'm giving my body the day off today. I think I'll watch the first Spider-Verse movie, the one that came out in 2018 with several different kinds of animation.
    So... another fine video on your part.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Рік тому +2

      Well, that's quite the story my friend. I remember the STL TWA days. I was pretty young at the time, but my mother's side of the family comes from St. Louis, so I'm there quite often. I remember going to STL before 9/11 and we'd go straight to the gate and wait for our relatives to get off. Always inbound on TWA! Anyway, the rest of your plan for today all sounds like an excellent plan to me my friend.

    • @scottbridge9391
      @scottbridge9391 Рік тому +1

      @@sla31 Also, while at STL waiting for my flight, the gate agent said that our flight was delayed and didn't know how long.
      Then, when we were all on board, the gate agent kept holding up the plane to kick people off and let more people on and it went on and on.
      I could see that the flight crew was losing their patience and so was I. I finally said to one of the flight attendants "Please tell that male ego of a gate agent to quit holding up this plane"
      And she agreed with me.
      Because we left so late, I barely had enough time in LAS to make my connecting flight to SEA.
      This was my very first visit to Las Vegas and it acted as a preview for my true first visit in early February 1999. That was my 40th Birthday getaway trip and on the actual day of my B-Day, I was at the south rim of the Grand Canyon ooh - ing and ahh - ing at the amazing scenery.

    What a brilliant flight together with cap announcements. Luved the views, thanks a ton again mate!
    Also mate, at time index 2:39 I noticed slightly choppy frame rates. You have to keep your eyes on the tarmac to notice. Not a big deal, your recordings are outstanding.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  11 місяців тому

      Thanks my friend. I wish there were more captions like this. I know some people don't care, but I love getting a little extra information from the flight deck.
      And hmmm... I'm not sure what happened at 2:39. I don't go back and re-watch every flight to look for rendering errors. I don't have enough time to do that haha, so I spot check them. Might've been a rendering error, or even an import error when I imported the file into the editing software. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now haha. Thanks for watching man!

      @@sla31 Well, this flight defently made a great Saturday apperance because it was much longer than that short flight from Phoenix to Los Angeles and I say that is most likely going to be a regular weekday upload on the channel because those are flights usually within 2 hours and they get posted much later than only on the weekend when the uploads get posted much earlier, but loved this one of the great views and I am hoping that the one that I am so looking forward to also gets posted very soon! You are just moving this channel forward with the coolest flights ever!
