I love God of war 1 and 2. The only parts I don't like about them too much is the puzzle sequences with the spikes. My least favorite puzzle in the series is the blades puzzle when climbing out of hell

Why people are giving gow 1 so low ranks, that gave was a masterpiece for his era and the reason why we see other gow titles. Kratos was perfectly ruthless and was a killing machine. Even normal enemies are tough to killer in very hard mode.. graphics was outstanding as well for that era.
GOW 1 is such a badass game despite kratos gaining powers as a game mechanic the storytelling is still great you still feel like a human being on a quest to kill a god

The return of God of war in 2018 was a great marketing idea, made the young generation curious to want to play the old games to see Kratos story, but it also creates a gargantuan amount of new fans who have literally only played on PS4 or PS5.

Then I picked up GOW3, it’s jarring and not really for me. But I decided to just sit down and watch the other games, I’d say they’re pretty good, but we all have our preferences. if we're talking about story, the new games are far better. As for gameplay I say they're pretty even. It's all a matter of taste since they play so much differently. One was a button masher and the other is all about combos and parries.

Why people are giving gow 1 so low ranks, that gave was a masterpiece for his era and the reason why we see other gow titles. Kratos was perfectly ruthless and was a killing machine. Even normal enemies are tough to killer in very hard mode.. graphics was outstanding as well for that era.
Literally the only downside were the QTE'S and balance beams!
GOW 1 is such a badass game despite kratos gaining powers as a game mechanic the storytelling is still great you still feel like a human being on a quest to kill a god

The return of God of war in 2018 was a great marketing idea, made the young generation curious to want to play the old games to see Kratos story, but it also creates a gargantuan amount of new fans who have literally only played on PS4 or PS5.
I mean im pretty sure its just the many flaws each game has, that "god of war" fans dont want to admit.

I started with 2018 on my 18th birthday (born in 2002 so I was late to playing it on release). And I loved it, I knew nothing of the first games, so I was actually quite surprised to see the blades of chaos for the first time. I fuckin love those blades (their lore made me like them but hate their nature) then I played ragnarok and enjoyed that one too, the story is alright but can be stomached.
Then I picked up GOW3, it’s jarring and not really for me. But I decided to just sit down and watch the other games, I’d say they’re pretty good, but we all have our preferences.
TLDR, I respect your opinion.
