I had a cod p0302 and it was an easy fix. For the number 2 cylinder, I took the coil off and the plugs out the plugs were loose the coil I changed with cylinder 4 so the problem was loose plugs. Fixed IN 15 min Ram 1500 2014 5.7 L.
If you guys need help with the leak, take some spray starting fluid. And spray a little bit around the engine until you hear it rev, the. Just find the source by spraying a bit more towards where it's reving. Then you'll find the problem. 2000 Silverado
Thank you! I started getting this code after I suffered a coolant leak and an overheat. Never got any white smoke coming out of anywhere, and pulled over immediately after the alarm went off. So now I know where to chase up the issue.
@arckra I had the same thing I had a bad lower radiator hose and and radiator replaced both of them. I immediately said to myself watch me get a misfire, and sure enough the next day I did. So I swapped the coilpack from cylinder 1 over to cylinder 2 and cylinder 2s coilpack to cylinder 1. Now my scanner reads a misfire in cylinder 2. So I have to replace my coilpack for that cylinder
P0303 on my 08 OB when left sitting in garage where humidity is off the charts. Running rough as you'd expect on 3 cylinders. Tried spraying water around wires and coil but no sparklies. Removed the cylinder 3 spark plug tube and there was moisture around the tube. Dried it off and replaced it and all seems fine now. Will need to use some sealant on the tube to prevent moisture infiltration.

I had this problem happen to me today. Out of no where with no prior signs that something was up, my vehicle began to shake as I was driving. RPM was high, and the car started to become sluggish. When I pulled over to turn off the car and to turn it back on, the car died within seconds, I started it again, and the car died within a few seconds again, and this would keep repeating. I finally tried ruffing the engine immediately after turning the car on, and that would keep the car alive. As long as I kept my foot down on the gas pedal the car would not die. As soon as I took my foot off the gas pedal within seconds the car died. My check engine light is on too. I was finally able to get the car in gear before it died again, and I took my car to autozone to have my check engine light scanned. It showed engine code P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire. The guy at autozone told me to buy a new ignition coil and plugs. I bought 4 new plugs and ignition coils that cost me around $300. I had a relative put those parts in for me, and the 4 new plugs and ignition coils did not resolve the issue. It's still wanting to die after turning on the car, and I have to keep turning the car on and ruffing the engine until I can finally drive it. The car is sluggish after idling or after a complete stop, but starts to drive normally as I build up speed. I can get my vehicle up to 60-70 mph without any issues. The engine light is on, not blinking. But when I start to slow down to come to a stop, I feel the car vibrating, and jerking me a little at each voom voom voom and you can hear it go voom voom voom (I hope you all know what I mean), but improves during acceleration. Question if there is a Vacuum leak why would it only affect Cylinder 2 ? Wouldn’t it be a Random misfire ? Im thinking my problem is a bad Injector. Because my Plugs are Brand New and the Coil for Cylinder 2 is also new. My misfire is random but only in time it’s always #2 and I have periods when it’s fine and out of nowhere SEL comes on and there’s a slight change in idle and over a few days the light will go away and the idle gets better but not perfect.
The answer is it can be both. Cylinder 2 misfire could be caused by a vac leak depending on how the air is entering the engine. For example if your intake manifold gasket is leaking at cylinder 2 this would allow extra air into one cylinder and not all of them. Depending on the flow of the intake manifold the air can favor one cylinder over another. Now most times if the vac leak is from a failed pcv or a faulty evap valve you will get multiple cylinder misfires. If you have replaced the plugs and coil pack on cylinder 2 a good next step would be to have your fuel trims checked and this will tell you if the engine is running lean or rich. When the misfire is one cylinder in particular and you have verified the coil pack and spark plug are in good working condition, check the fuel injector, could be leaking or not spraying correctly. Another check would be a compression check to ensure the internal components of the engine are ok on that cylinder
Full tune up full injectors cleaned tested new coils plugs fuel system cleaned fuel filter but for P0302 just comeback after like 10 seconds of running and cel blinks so haven't been able to use vehicle and I have had it at 6 shops. And the last shop broke more stuff and still says can't figure it out. Starts fine just sounds horrible with vibration. 2015 Fiat 500 pop non turbo.
I get this code on my VW Scirocco 2.0 tsi. Changed the fuel injector, swapped over plug and coil from cylinder 2 to 4 and vice versa, and the same code still appears. Possibly a vaccum leak? Where would I check for leaks exactly on that engine? Around the intake manifold? Any ideas? Thanks.
Coilpack and plugs are the best/easiest place to start. Vac leak is very common on tsi engines especially from a failed PCV. Most of the time this can be heard as an external leak on the pcv. When a misfire is partial to one cylinder or another and the coil pack, spark plug and injector test ok, time to go a little deeper. Are there any other faults? I would look into the cylinder with the misfire by removing the plug and seeing if it looks wet in the combustion chamber, look at the plug for signs of failure from fuel and or oil.The injector may be new, however if it staying open to long or not long enough that can cause a misfire. I would also do a quick compression test on cylinder 2 and make sure you have good compression. normally around 160 to 180 psi.
Do you think it can be a collapsed lifter? I only changed my spark plugs and coils and nothing else. It’s still having the cylinder 2 misfire and i took it to the dealership and they said it has a collapsed litter and suggested I change all lifters and camshaft.. what do you think?

@eazybandz is it running poorly? When mine did this nothing felt different. I scanned the code and took it to a mechanic and they said there was nothing wrong with it so they just cleared the code. Check engine light never came back and was running the same. If yours doesn't feel different then just clear the code. If it feels odd like it's running poorly then take it in the shop and just have em check it over So no. There was nothing wrong with my eclipse. Just decided to have a misfire at 130mph
ok i changed all plugs, swapped the #2 coil with #3 cylinder, also replaced air filter while taken apart. check the vacuum hoses and looked fine. deleted code and ran car for less then 20 miles and engine light came back on. ran diagnostic check again and still shows a p0302 code. what else can i check?
Have a shop do a leak-down test, not a compression test on that cylinder. A leak-down test checks for bad valves and bad piston rings and lets you identify exactly which valve or if the rings are bad. A compression test doesn’t really tell what’s wrong if it fails. Sometime you can pass the compression test just fine but still have a bad valve causing a misfire. A leak-down is less fallible/infallible.
I have a mercedes c230k and has this code, already did change all the spark plugs and ignition coils but didnt work, the code is still there and my car still feel weak. I haven't change the harness wiring yet, do you thing it would be heads?
Hey Omar, it's hard to diagnose from here - but did you try testing the fuel injectors as well? If you ruled those out, you can test the compressions in the cylinder to see if it's an engine issue. Best of Luck.
Try the acceleration pedal sensor And also check your catalytic convertor these are things that I've seen no one mention that directly causes misfiring also
I'm not sure if there was a massive change in price of ignition coils or maybe the year but both fuel injectors and ignition coils are about 20to 60 single coils are like 12 to 15 and fuel injectors are 20. It does depend on where you buy them eBay no! Amazon yes. Sometimes Amazon warehouse will have them for dirt cheap and high quality
I have replaced the coil the spark plugs and spark plug wire done a compression test everything is over $125 on the compression test seems to run good but it still has a p302 permanent code in it and they suggestions it all started out because it had a misfire on number two changed coil but new one in but still has code
I have an Audi A4 and I’ve been having a misfire I took it to Audi and they changed some bad injectors , it was still misfiring and they told me I had cam and rocker damage to the cylinder head ... I was wondering if that could cause a misfire ? I also got told I had a bad battery and I’ve heard that can lead to misfires also ?
Ask the dealer about carbon buildup on the intake valves. If they look confused or get a dear in the headlights look, find another dealer, because yours has got no clue. Very common issue on German direct inject turbo motors.

👌
i deed change spark plugs new cables and still do the same problem on cylinder 2 misfire?
Catalyst converter
Coil pack spark plug feul injector timing belt crack in the distiputer
Is it a Escalade?
Changed all the spark plugs and ignition coil on one cylinder and I’m still getting the code , now what??
2016 escape 1.6..same issue..new plugs and new coil packs
Same on my 2015 jeep Cherokee also diagnosed the fuel injectors and they are good, now I just have to check for air leaks... help anyone?
Omar Haro would make a diy smoke test device or take it to a mechanic and get a diagnosis. They should check for leaks with their smoke test.
@@jimmygrant8388 check your injectors
Same
I still have a po302 after changing the sparkplugs and coil packs on my nissan pulsar 1.2 petrol 2016. Car drives fine for 5 minutes with a missfire then cuts out.
Can you tell me what I have to do
I have p0302 and p0304 any correlation that would be both of them? Obviously they are on the same side is all I can come up with.
Got a 99 Suburban, code misfire cylinder 2, changed spark plugs and wires... No effect, still misfires.
Can you do a video on code P0202, please, ASAP.
Thank you for the feedback! We will put it on the upcoming video idea board 😊
I have another question. I mistakingly cleared to check engine light. How long will it take for it to come back on and what do I have to do?
is it the line order or the firing order for p0302?
What if u have just only 1 ignition coil.my truck only has one.

POV: you just paid 26 grand for parts and labor on something that “could have been a spark plug” #p0302 gang
Replaced all 4 spark plugs and coils. Had autozone reset the code. Drove 700 miles and now the damn P0302 code is back. Ugh!
My Honda did this today got a code reader got this code so I changed the spark plugs and nothing changed so what’s next?
My 2011 Chevy Equinox seems to idle odd when I’m at a stop sigh/light codes are Po420 and Po302. I just changed the spark plugs and a vacuum leak I found few weeks back.
Hey man I have the exact same codes on my 2006 Dodge Charger srt8 did you ever figure out the issue
Hey man I have a 2011 Camaro LS and just yesterday I had an engine misfire happen but it ran fine afterwards, just today I took it to Autozone to get it checked out and when I turned it on it struggled and white smoke started coming out. Any clue what this is?
Head gaskets
Ouch!
What would make oil and number two cylinder
Can a bad catalytic converter cause a misfire ?
And if is not all of this that u mentioned? Could be the ECU?
Great point, Daniel!
Okay I just had an oil change and I had my spark plugs replaced but the engine light is still coming on and I have these codes on my car which is po 304 op420 and 302 on my 2016 Jeep Patriot
this code happened after the stop/start said it was unavailable and to service. Any coincidence? and the check engine light went out for 1 day and came back on. it doesnt always rough idle until the service stop/start light comes on
Hola what number is calibrated to a spark plug for blazer 1999.
Can anyone explain how to locate the cylinder based upon number ? How to find cylinder 6
When i hit the pedal to the floor, my chevy cruze acceleration cuts off completely, leaving me stranded..
im to broke for shops and its not the spark plug, coil pack, wires, compression is good spark is good. still giving me the same code p0302 any advice would be appreciated. this is a 2014 Chrysler town and country
Well done.
Ok I have a 2008 Toyota Yaris. Where is the fuel filter and how do I change it?
Whats it mean if its permanent
What if I was speeding then my engine light went on, when I plugged in the obd2 sensor it said cylinder 2 misfire but then the engine light went off and it’s been almost a month and the light hasn’t gone back on, does that mean that the problem no longer exists or it’s jus not reading it now since I plugged the reader in?
Same here and yes itll get worse
I have a 2011 Honda Odyssy 3.5 been getting the code 302 changed the spark plugs and it soiled the plug again in 2 weeks so I changed the plug and coil and 2 weeks later got the 302 code again not sure what else It could be
I have 1999 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 6 cyl. with P 0302 code from "Odometer key on off three times". If 1 cyl. not firing, then remaining 5 should still run, but with a skip. Why do I die, dead in road and won't start? Sometimes have to sit and wait till it wants to start, sometimes couple hours, sometimes starts right back up. I was told and looked into it, is supposedly a "Crankshaft Position Sensor". Explain please!? And there is this comment from another viewer.

P0302 on a 1999 Jeep Cherokee 4.0l 6 HO. Not on the scanner, on the dash. Wouldn't start. Crankshaft position sensor had failed. If you drive a Jeep, moreso the older ones with ODBII, codes are fucking useless.
I have a misfire on #1 and #2 cylinders, any idea what I could be looking at?
You might want to check into whether cylinder #1 and #2 share the same coil. If yes, coil looks suspicious.
Also ignition coils for my civic are like 35 dollars not 200
I change everything in this problem and still come the same code what u have to do
Unplug battery for 15 minutes
Not the plugs or the ignition coil no intake vacuum leak no exhaust leak what next injectors. Compression andd leakdown test passed.
I have a big slit in my intake boot or elbow. It kinda looks like an accordion. Anyways, I’m thinking that it’s causing a cylinder 2 misfire. What do you guys think ?
I used black silicone on my BMW that had a split intake. After cleaning it up totally with 90% rubbing alcohol I just squeezed it to cover the split and let it cure over night. That $4.00 fix lasted me for a whole season until I replaced the whole intake system from the filter to the throttle body.
Parts are expensive in the US... damn!
My truck acted up and was shaking..had the code..had a tune up down. Truck ran good again except when would come to stop would vibrate a little and code still shows up..what would be the problem?
Vacuum or intake leak.
My friend has a 2017 Jeep Wrangler 6cyl. It seems to only get this P0302 code after it has been idling for a few minutes, and it idles fine. Would that be a clue as to what specific problem it could be? This is the only code that shows up.
I have the same code on my identical Jeep. I replaced the plugs & ignition coils and the code cleared but only for a few drives. I should have replaced the gaskets when I had the engine open. That will be what I do next. Did you find a solution to your code?
06 ram 5.7 hemi, 2 cylinder miss fire, after I clear the code, run my truck, no check engine light, time frame can be 20 minutes, or 4 hours, but the moment ignition is off, and restarted, code appears..
Engine is running rich at idle, but not when driving, no performance loss, but why is the check engine light not on while driving, after clearing code ?l
1:05-1:15 cool graphic, but the valves go into the cylinder when they open, not magically into the head 😂
🤣
Also, the spark plug is placed into the picture backwards. No spark that way!!! Still, a good vid.
Could a bad gas cap cause the code P0302?
No
I have a strong spark but still misfire cilynder 2 Ford f150 4.2 2003
Changed spark plugs and wires, still misfiring
Coolant may be leaking into your cylinder meaning warped head or head gasket
Maybe coolant is going into your cylinder caused by warped head or head gasket
I have a 13 kia soul, 90K, car wouldn't start, dealer replaced spark plugs and fuel injectors and did the pressure test on all four cylinders came back good (170 to 180psi), after a hundred or so miles check engine light came on, I checked with ODB to find P0302 error, did the swap test still no luck. I am gonna call up the dealer again to see what's up.
Hey, just wandering if you have an update on this? I have the same make & model & am having the same problem.
Can a bad camshaft cause a misfire?

Ok so I’ve changed spark plugs coils fuel injectors an fuel filter I’m lost
what if the code comes and go ?

Very Shakespearien...
Got this code on my 3g eclipse after doing a 130mph pull. I do this normally but guess it didn't like it this time
How’d you get it fixed I think I got the same problem
@eazybandz is it running poorly? When mine did this nothing felt different. I scanned the code and took it to a mechanic and they said there was nothing wrong with it so they just cleared the code. Check engine light never came back and was running the same.
If yours doesn't feel different then just clear the code. If it feels odd like it's running poorly then take it in the shop and just have em check it over
So no.
If its gmc 5.3 can be intake gasket .
no it's the 2.2 engine on a 2011 hhr
Cat convertor
Try the acceleration pedal sensor
And also check your catalytic convertor these are things that I've seen no one mention that directly causes misfiring also
Helpful
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching.
I was going to say he got the prices right on spark plugs but wow where im from nothing that high in WV.
Direct injection fuel injectors are very expensive
Helpful thx
Glad it helped!
Hahahaha the final was very epic 🤣
Where they find this guy Starbucks? Get into the location of the plug and change it!
Can I drive with this code . My mechanic can’t get it today 😢 @FIXD
I have replaced the coil the spark plugs and spark plug wire done a compression test everything is over $125 on the compression test seems to run good but it still has a p302 permanent code in it and they suggestions it all started out because it had a misfire on number two changed coil but new one in but still has code
Check for leaks at the intake?
I have an Audi A4 and I’ve been having a misfire I took it to Audi and they changed some bad injectors , it was still misfiring and they told me I had cam and rocker damage to the cylinder head ... I was wondering if that could cause a misfire ? I also got told I had a bad battery and I’ve heard that can lead to misfires also ?
See thats when I question the mechanic if he is telling the truth or trying to cash in.
Ask the dealer about carbon buildup on the intake valves. If they look confused or get a dear in the headlights look, find another dealer, because yours has got no clue. Very common issue on German direct inject turbo motors.
I have a 2002 Chevy Prizm, is this still safe to drive? The car shakes when I’m at a light
great ,,,,,thnx
No problem! Happy driving!
Don’t replace the fuel filter for p0302 unless you have a fuel filter for each cylinder. Which you don’t!
Care to explain
