Lu Bu: When playing the Chinese, there are 3 things to remember~
1. Do NOT pursue Lü Bu!
2. Yuhuang Shangdi is above the Sanhuang / Santsai
3. No step on half-snek goddess
@@royasturias1784 Do not make 3 fathers
Prostagma! so excited! Tiger calvary is awesome. Blazing prairie sounds soooo chaotic
Great concept, sounds like they’re bringing a lot of new mechanics
I hope some of the other civs show up. Part of the fun of AOM is the crossover of mythologies.
Yeah, I remember the the chinese campaihn in EE and it was all chinese vs chinese,, boring
The trailer actually shows the temples of other pantheons in one the shots, and one of the previews from the steam store page features Ajax next to the heroes, in the same location as the temples were shown!
they werent kidding about a ground up remake theres nothing simailr
True! It looks great
I can’t wait for this dlc
same
Im so hyped. The art and units look so good. I especially like the buildings. Im only a little sad at there only being 9 levels. It feels awfully short. I was hoping for at least 15. I thought theyd focus more on the campaign considering the large portion of the playerbase that play this game solo
Also, Zhurong is the same god as "Chongli" - the mythical age god of fire in the original Age of Mythology so he is definitely Mythic age.
Thanks for the video! Couple things I noticed:
-The Baihu is not the same as the flying tiger from the screenshot, that one had visible wings and was a regular tiger without the mustache, not a white tiger with 2 tails. A bit odd that there are 2 tiger myth units, but we'll see. The Baihu doesn't fly, it sends enemies flying haha. So seems like something similar to the Minotaur or Battle Boar.
-For the heroes, I love that we get two types of generic hero in the Pioneer and Sage, and also the named powerful demigod heroes like the Greeks. What I really need to know is: it SAYS right now that "At the peak are legendary demigod heroes, unique to each god..." By peak does it just mean that they are more powerful than the Pioneer (who seems like an early game scout hero) and the Sage (more the mid-game light damage and healer, similar to Egyptian priests), or does it mean that the demigod heroes are only available in the mythic age? If it just means they're more powerful than the other heroes, and the demigods are "unique to each god," does that mean each MAJOR god, or EACH god including minor gods? I have really been hoping that, with all the notable characters in Chinese folklore, there may be a unique hero for each minor god as opposed to the set ones for major gods that the Greeks have.
-My impression of Fuxi's Peach Blossom Spring god power was that it may stockpile ALL resources slowly, so you basically cast it in the Archaic age and let it build up until you need an injection of all resources to help you do something specific.
-Also for Fuxi, remember that military buildings only get 300% faster RESEARCH, which is still very good but not as insane as 300% faster work time overall.
-For Shennong's god blessing, I think it just means that as you gain Favor, you'll get myth units from the next age spawning at your temple until you age up. This would mean that if you expand your buildings outward quickly, you can passively get free myth units from the next age (I assume it'll randomly pick one of your unit options to spawn) until you actually age up. The power boost from free next-age myth units may either convince you or compensate you for staying in a lower age for longer. Very interesting idea.
The flying tiger is Qiongqi, one of four Great Perils in Chinese mythology
I feel like there would be one demigod per major god available in heroic or mythic age because of the way it's stated. If it was per minor god that would be 2 classes of heroes + 3-4 unique heroes. It just seems like a lot of heroes.
@prankster959 Which, hey, I wouldn't complain about lots of heroes haha, Chinese lore certainly has plenty of awesome characters to choose from, but I suspect you're probably right that it's based on the major gods. If it's just one hero per major god tho, I also wish they said who those heroes are on the info page on the website, but maybe it's just not something they're putting on the site. They don't list the Greek heroes after all
From what I gather terracotta cav is more like militia in aoe3, no?
Also, Chiyou is pronounced "CHUR-YOW" (the "You" sounds like "Yo!" like when you informally said "hello")
While "Yazi" is pronounced "Ya-TZUH". Qilin is pronounced as "CHEE-LIN"
Fuxi is the twin brother-husband of Nüwa, yet he looks older than her. hmmm
Deities could be depicted properly and meaningfully.
Goddesses depicted as crones sporting sagging nasolabial folds and visible wrinkles do not sell.
I think the God Blessing is the Major Gods 'special tech' like Thors Hammer of Thunder and such. (I'm propably mentioning that 10 seconds before you point it out 😆)
Looks awesome. They go full Chinese mythology story. Not like the previous one is so bad. The titan is a naked neanderthal
Much better than Tale of the Dragons.
So excited for a new campaign. I agree that the original in retold was amazing, but I’d played it so many times that there was not surprises. Still burned from the last Chinese expansion, so I’ll probably wait to see what the reviews are for these 9 missions before I get them.
Hetimos!!!
Are they updating the graphics?
What?! China in age of mythology???
When can we play it then online?
It's March 4th.
I'm glad they gave so much info! Really making sure people don't forget them because of how lame they were in EE. Looks like they'll be pretty interesting, excited to try next month!
lets go!!! 😁👌🔥🔥🔥
Only 9 missions in campaign? Ha! And this we await from August last year
Disappointed
9 missions, with probably more objectives main and secondary
@@royasturias1784 and remember there were ~ 9 civs in the original for each civ. Actually Im surprised about it, I thought it would be less
But hey, the titans had 12
JUST GIVE US MESOPOTAMIANS AND CELTS ALREADY FFS!
