Great fly Lance. I’ve had great success with standard pheasant tail midges. I’m looking forward to trying this fly.....if I ever get out of Quarantine.

Awesome tie as always Lance. I am going to try the silver bead and wire combination in place of the gold on some of my traditional Frenchie's. Thanks for sharing!

hey guys! with this also being called silver lancer, gold lancer and white lancer does that mean you just use a different color bead and ribbing such as white bead and white ribbing for a white lancer? thanks

Hey Lance, do you also use this with brass beads, or unweighted if the fish are higher? Or do you use different patterns?

I'd like to try this on the San Juan River in New Mexico with it's fabled midge hatches. I suppose I'd have to tie it down to 18-22 size and probably use it as the tag fly and use a San Juan Squirmy Wormy as the point fly... Should be a killer combination. Any suggestions for the smaller sizes? Thanks. Eric

The original frenchie is a money fly and is usually tied in smaller sizes

How do you fish this in still water?

Under an indicator or on a straight line, full sink.

William Klein usually on a midge tip line as part of team of flies. I usually fish 3 flies on Stillwater and with a midge tip this is often my point fly or middle dropper. Top dropper is usually unweighted. Cast as far as you can, allow the flies to sink to the desired depth and slowly retrieve them back to you. Hang the flies as they near your position. Then re-cast and repeat.
