- Here’s an age old staple in the chironomid fly game. Copper beads were once the rage before the addition of the brown beads. This pattern is well known all over the interior and is definitely one to have in your box. Try it with or without the red butt and tie em from a 10-16 in the 1120 scud hook or from 12-18 if you prefer the 1760 curved style hook.

In what fishing conditions do you choose between 1120's and 1760 hooks
All depends if you want to present the cronie straight(er) or more curved. For he most part it likely will not matter enough to notice a difference but sometimes, for whatever reason, they prefer one shape over another so it's not a bad idea to always have a few of both! ;)
love you ties, ASB question...these hanks have different width strips...do you have a preference of strip width to hook size that you go by?
