I just came back from a M&A negotiation which did not go that well. What they spoke here really holds up and is true in any negotiating situation.

One's a grinning academic, who's never had a job in business actually doing big deals(take a look at her CV), and the other is a highly successful, battle-hardened attorney, who's been there and done that a lot. I prefer hearing from those who've successfully been there and done that...as opposed to someone who's essentially a biographer, who hasn't. An academic lawyer, proselytizing from their office comes to realize the reality of practicalities in the law when they become judges and are faced with the real world, as observed by the most recent SC justice.

Hello. The second woman that asked a question, to my understanding, was asking about proximity, i.e., where to sit physically, not so much about gestures or verbal strategies. When she walks into a negotiation, where should she sit to gain the best advantage?

Danish people are not from Netherlands, those are Dutch. Danish people come from Denmark.

Disagree. Not letting the facts speak for themselves, and creating a story will be viewed as spin. If the facts are strong enough, why need the story? Most folks (not all) will see through the lies of the story.

AxelSituation I see it is not that the fact shoudnt follow the story or vica versa. You want to see it as the facts as a backup because people are driven by compellinh stories (emotions). Like I run an event company and hired 11 people who all work for free and are highly intelligent. I told my story what am about, what they could expect and what vision we share. So this is how powerfull it can be.
