    I can't stress the importance of registering your machine,I actually had the orange old model which I bought last Christmas and I believe it's discontinued. Moving a month before lockdown was never gonna be easy and when it stopped working I had to wait and had to resolve to renting a rug doctor ( please don't,it's unhygienic and ... just don't) .. I finally managed to call them on Monday and I got the upgraded version of this one, obviously a far cry from the orange monstrosity I had bought. I haven't used it yet as I love to get a crash course.
    Register your machine and I've looked at the reviews and they are glowing ☺️. I have a no shoes policy in my place so this just makes me that extra satisfied with the cleanliness of the carpets 🤗...
    I just pour my dirty water down the toilet,I would never use the kitchen sink 🤷🏾‍♀️.

    I've just bought this model and used it on my carpet with the provided cleaning solution. It did a good job on deep clean mode and dispensed the water and cleaning solution quite rapidly. The rinse mode also dispensed the water nice and fast. I'm very pleased with the results. I haven't tried any of the attachments so can't comment on those.

    Excellant video, thank you. It showed me everything I needed to know in a very clear way and I look forward to your follow on video. • @ibaisaic

      Rinse involves using water. When you turn the dial to rinse it just puts down water without mixing in the solution. I would wash a small area, go over it without putting down water to remove the solution, then switch to rinse and go over the area again. Finish by going over the area without releasing solution to dry the carpet as much as possible. Remember to turn the dial back to wash before cleaning the next section of carpet.

    @DKTronics70 3 роки тому +2

    Just got one of these. Excellent video, well-made, and clear.
    I will add, though, the reason you had too much foam is because you used too much solution. You are meant to only use 40ml solution for every 1 litre of warm water. Too much solution, and you'll get too much foam, and you might end up damaging the machine. I learnt the hard way, my old Vax died due to overuse of solution to water ratio, it just killed the motor, in the end.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  3 роки тому +1

      This Vax has the auto mix feature. You are supposed to add neat solution to the separate tank and the machine mixes it with the plain water in the larger clean water tank. This is how the machine is able to rinse the carpet as the dial on the tank stops the solution from mixing with the clean water. 40ml per 1 litre of solution is the dilution rate for Vax machines without the auto mix function. I would recommend using a defoamer in the dirty water tank to reduce excessive foam build up.

    • @DKTronics70
      @DKTronics70 3 роки тому +1

      @@ibaisaic Hi, I got my information from the manual for this very machine. Yes, there is a separate solution tank, but it has a habit of using whatever is in there, proof is in your video - you have way more foam than I had when I first used mine. I measured my water amount, and used 1.5 litres of water, then put in 60ml of liquid - at the end, I had minimal foam, and both tanks were empty. My last VAX also had two tanks, water, and solution, and I used to fill both tanks. At the end of every carpet wash, I had so much foam that it eventually killed the VAX, and tripped the electric.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  3 роки тому +1

      Excessive foam can also be caused by residue left in the carpet from previous cleanings. I have looked at the instructions online and it just says to put solution into the solution tank, it doesn’t mention diluting it. I sold this machine a while ago and use a Bissell Big Green that knocks spots off every Vax I have used in the past.

    • @solsburian
      @solsburian 2 роки тому

      Vax's own instructional video for this type of machine shows that they intend users to add the solution neat to the solution tank: ua-cam.com/video/keSBBj6XHBI/v-deo.html

    Really helpful, thanks. Particularly in explaining no measurement of cleaner etc is necessary. The instructions on the bottle suggest it is, and I had already filled the cleaning compartment with diluted solution when I saw the video ... had to ditch it and start again. :-)

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  4 роки тому +3

      The bottle gives dilution instructions for machines without the separate solution tank so yes, you just pour the neat solution into the small tank and the cleaner mixes it with the water automatically. This is how this model can offer a rinse mode that stops the cleaning solution from mixing with the water. It would have been OK to use your machine even with solution mixed into the main tank. Vax need to put something on their solution bottles to say that there is no need to dilute when using a cleaner with auto mix as a few people have made the same mistake as you. Glad my video helped.

    • @juliasteward9505
      @juliasteward9505 4 роки тому +3

      @@ibaisaic Thanks. Yes. I got there. I think you might have inadvertently edited out the bit that tells people there's a lock on the front 'nozzle' (bit that sucks up the water) which needs to be undone to remove the nozzle for cleaning. You replace it clearly on the video, but I struggled a bit to be able to get it out until I found the lock. Absolutely not a complaint,but just to help others who may not have spotted it.

      The float valve can pop up if you move the machine too fast causing the water to move and activate the valve. If the dirty water tank is foaming up, adding some defoamer will stop the valve popping up prematurely.

      @@ibaisaic Thanks. I decided to get the blue one as it's only £20 more. I think that tool will help restore my fabric sofa.

      @@sawley121 Yes it's pretty good. Doesn't quite get out heavy stains, but still good at overall cleaning.

    We have a Vax Power Plus which was on offer, advertised on TV in the summer. It made a real difference to our hall carpets but they very quickly got dirty again- could have done with the post treatment spray....but Roger, would that spray be safe for pets (we have a golden retriever)?

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  5 років тому +1

      I don’t like putting post treatment sprays on my carpets with my dogs. I would recommend that you always rinse the carpets after washing to remove the shampoo residue that can encourage re-soiling. You can also buy carpet rinse solutions from specialised cleaning companies that can help remove the residue. Next time you shampoo, try using just water.

      ibaisaic thanks for this. We do have beige carpets which I know doesn’t help but Penny (our dog) likes to sleep in all kinds of places & where she does sleep, she leaves a mark (she is clean). We are baffled by it but I suppose that’s why we got the carpet cleaner! Thoroughly enjoying your videos now I understand about the vacuum cleaners. I was born in 1970 so I am fascinated by the old machines you show! Thanks.

    I have this model. the bitt9m brushes won't clip up to the bottom tight. hangs about 2". any advice?

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  2 роки тому

      The brushes should move up and down when properly inserted. Make sure the spindle fits properly into the hole on the underside of the cleaner where the brush clips in.

    How do you get the machine to pick up water whilst using the hose part please? Mine won't pick up unless I use the actual machine

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  3 роки тому

      If the hose is properly connected to the machine, the suction will be diverted through the hose and the solution will spray out of the nozzle at the end of the hose.

    Could some of that colour be from the dye in the carpet?

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  5 років тому +1

      The grey carpet is bleach cleanable and colour fast. The fibres were from the entrance mat.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  5 років тому +2

      I have never known dye to come out of a carpet in all my years of washing them. The grey carpet is colour fast and can be cleaned with a dilute bleach solution according to the manufacturer.

      @ASMRcleaning 5 років тому +1

      @@ibaisaic I don't doubt that, I was just wondering if it could be because of how clean the carpet looked and how black the water was. Usually it's dark brown but was black in the video but that could of been lighting.

    I have a Hoover that is very similar to this.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  5 років тому +5

      It is not copied. Do you think Vax would get away with copying a Hoover design. Hoover USA and Vax UK are both owned by TTI and the same designs are sold under different brand names in different countries.
