Such a great build and video, absoloutely destroyed by the constant ads, Mr. Schaefer please stop ads, you dont need them, i dont need them, i dont click them, i smash to quit that crap to continue you great build and instructions.
If you would like ad free instruction feel free to buy his building an OM guitar course from his website. If you want to watch and learn for free on youtube, you get to watch ads. Dudes gotta eat.
Super vid as always. I notice you say you pre attach the purfling to the binding. Presuming you use normal yellow glue, when it comes to bending them won’t the glue separate ? Is there a trick to dealing with this? Thanks.
Hey buddy, great Chanel! Question. What is the name of that tool you using by hand to cut the binding channel? It sounds like “gromel” but I found nothing under that search, and similar words. Butttt… I need one! Thanks!
Beautiful and great work as usual! Curious, do you do anything to stabilize / reinforce the “flat sawn” part of the backs? I’m not sure if you spoke to this in a previous video as I don’t recall. Regardless, great work and glad to see you posting again :D
That gadget you use for scoring. Did you call it a grommel? Where can i get one of those things? I LOVE the result of this work. That maple purfling looks simply beautiful. Thank you for showing us.
@@deewilliams6129 Thank you, I did as you suggested, and Uncle Google knows it all. Found one and how to use it at its best, and how to keep it sharp and in good condition., More than I ever thought I needed to know.
If you marked out your miters with a protractor and a marking knife, not a pencil, before gluing, you dont have to fill any gaps. Looking good, though.
I realize this is an older video, but can you share where you bought your gramil? I refuse to pay the ridiculous prices that StewMac ask for their tools (which are no longer the high quality they once were).
Man, the back and sides on this one look awesome!
I don't normally like binding but the way you have done it here looks great.
"Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do." Amen Brother. Thanks for the great video.
Great job on the binding. That is some amazing looking wood
Thanks for showing how to do this! Will try it on my next build.
Eric, I’m glad too see you back posting vids, I was afraid that maybe you got sick or something. I hope all is well God Bless...

thank you Eric
Eric if you were using both side and top wood purfling would you laminate them all together and bend as a unit?

Do a google search on “how to make a gramil” and you’ll find some advice. 👍🏻
