My little brother is 8 years younger than I. I could not believe how fast the quality of Target trucks went down plastic tires and rims for his compared to mine being rubber and metal rims glass for the windows steering wheel natural seat compared to fake plastic just a steering wheel and a piece of plastic camouflage to hide the hole or the seat and the cockpit for the dump truck used to be. We had a 4% grade Hill on the property we used to live at my talking truck was a heavier gauge tin you could actually sit on it and ride down the hill. My little brothers couldn't hold up his weight it would put pressure on the axles where they wouldn't turn. You still made it look nice though. 🤠
@@RepairRestore I have a few pristine Tonka vehicles in my toy collection but seeing you disassemble them is fascinating, and certainly show just how well made these toys were.
I have several Tonka toys from my childhood and I would like to do some restoration work to them. You make it look so simple but I am still paranoid that I will mess them up and future grandkids wouldn't be able to play with them. Perhaps if I keep on watching your videos, I will work up the courage to do some repairs in the future.
Hi Robert, If I can encourage you, I think you should jump into your restorations. If you make a big mistake you will have learned something and you can redo the work. The nice thing about the Tonkas is that they are the exact opposite of a china doll. They can handle mistakes. You got this! I would love to see one finished.
Otra gran restauracion realizada a este camión volquete Mighty Tonka de 1976, muy interesante y util la idea de esta herramienta para reparar los neumaticos, mis respetos y saludos desde Venezuela.
Despite the severe rust, a beautiful restoration. All that filling and sanding clearly leads to an excellent result.
Cool. I enjoy channel. No music, no gabbering. THANKYOU
Glad you enjoy it!
That is one of the better methods I've seen for storing pen turning bushings! Thanks for the idea!
You bet! I think the shower curtain rings are less than a dime a piece! Thanks for watching!

They definitely went down in quality. So glad that you have those memories with your brother!
A great restauration job for a classic Tonka truck.
I really appreciate that. Thank you!

Top parabéns 🇧🇷👋👋
Thank you!
What do you do about the Lead paint hazards when restoring these trucks ?
What kind of screws were those that you put on the front bumper? What size were they? Love the Tonka restorations by the way!
Those are 1/4-20 socket head cap screws. Thanks for watching and I am glad that you enjoy them.
Use a brass tube as a bushing
👍
Very cool that the same one here. Its rusty as shot. Wich model year u think i got? 1970 /1972? Wich color coat powder yellow u used?
I like to look on neatoldtoys.com to ID my toys. I just use gloss yellow from The Powder Coat Store.com
Keep up the good work! I want to sew you at 100k already and me at 50k 😀😍🛠
Maybe one day!
👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Martin.
Not sure how Lego got away with calling their products "Awesome". I mean, just look at this truck!
Looks awesome. Great job. I have subscribed, liked and notify all. Take care, stay safe and Merry Christmas ♥🎄♥🎅💕😺 I would like to see you turn pens.
Thank you very much! Merry Christmas to you as well! I hope to upload a pen video after the new year.
Yo tuve un camion como ese nuevecito
