  • One of the essential aspects of painting is always choosing the proper tool for the task at hand. It nearly goes without saying...BIG jobs call for a bigger roller. Wooster's 18-inch rollers are the best way to achieve faster results on larger surfaces. See for yourself.

    I’m a decorator for 32 years trust me on this as I e used 9” and 18” it’s important to have the biggest roller on bigger walls YET cutting in is the worst part that takes the most time and there’s no quick solution for this just experience and speed and using as an example a Wooster 3” silver tip 😊

    I got a 9 inch, was considering 14 inch, but where I live it's hard to get a pan for such size roller, it's either too small or very big bucket. Looking at this video the man is doing it pretty fast, I hope it will go smoothly for me too. Never rolled walls in my life, wish me luck.

      Get the 14" they work as good as the 18", especially if your walls are not new or very flat.

    The lady could've doubled her production had she spread the paint across the surface THEN spread the paint from ceiling to floor...in case anyone wants to use dark colors when you cut in at the ceiling, cornerss and bass be sure to use a much lighter coat that what is demonstrated otherwise you're going to re-paint that wall until it blends..

    Hence the word Production!

    • @willmurphy6996
      @willmurphy6996 3 роки тому

      Yes production. You know when you work you produce something. Maybe you should try producing something worthwhile. I work in multimillion dollar homes. Dining rooms bigger than your house. Bathrooms bigger than your living room and thats not even the ensuite. So yes production matters. Nobody wants a team of painters in their house for 3-4 weeks just for a repaint so 18 inch rollers are a must to produce top notch $100000 + paint jobs. If you are unable to use one, thats not the fault of us that can. I hire guys that have ZERO painting experience so they don't come in with a stupid mindset like yourself and other shit habits pick up from oh datta do type painters. Then again to make such a stupid comment you are obviously not a professional painter. Not saying you don't paint. Just saying I can already imagine your quality of work is probably lower than the average DYI'er. Getting paid to paint don't make you a professional. Professional quality work from the first meet with a client to following up with a bottle of wine or whisky or a dinner for two gift card makes you a professional.

      for walls its not an issue at all. For ceilings you can hold up a 9 inch for 4 hours or an 18" for 2.25 hours. Its been a long while since I took notice. ^ yrs ago I started using 18 inch when I first started doing 3-4 million dollar homes over the typical bungalow of $300k which are now selling for near 6-700 k lol. On a 6-8 foot pole there is no difference really. Once you get to 12-18 ft then you notice it but at the same time. If a ceiling is 18 feet high. Would you rather roll it out for 4 hours with a 9 inch or 2.5 hrs with a 18 inch.

      I have NEVER used this W or N style when rolling a wall. The way she does it on the left by starting in the centre of the length then moving it slightly to the right to spread it, then go back to the left and do the length and move over slightly to the right and pick up the bit of excess to do the next section is perfectly acceptable. You would have to be putting an exceptional amount of paint on the wall to not spread it properly with a wooster roller.
