What I really appreciate about M.I.A. is her objective view about some of the global situations. She uses her voice to spread awareness, which is really inspirational to me! And it's helped me to see the issues that's going on overseas. What I don't appreciate is media outlets, like New York Times, putting on filter on her and trying to degrade her to something she's not. Always ask yourself what to believe and question the world around you, it's so so important to now to self educate and look at things from an unbiased perspective. I feel M.I.A. has done that extremely well!

What the Sri Lankan government did to the Tamil people FAR outweighs what the LTTE did as a result, to fight that oppression. The LTTE fought against the government in _reaction_ to the oppression they suffered for many decades. They made Tamil people as second class citizens in their own homeland.
