The 70s music will put you on another planet that no one will understand unless you have a love of the 70s music. You don't need drugs or alcohol to appreciate the best music ever. God....take me back to the 70s and leave me there....I'll be just fine.
This tune reminds me of my youth at the roller skating rink . Rollin' around with your girl trying to dance and skate at the same time wasn't an easy task for this guy . But ya had to at least attempt it . Still to this day some 40 years later this tune takes me back . I got to give the credit to my uncle for turning me on to 70's bands . I sure do miss those days . No bills , no responsibilities ( no money either😀) . All we had to do was scrape up $10 for some good weed and a few more for gas money and we were set !
As did I. I was working at Tower Records in Boston when I discovered this band back in college, late 90’s. From there I always took Aja into the store when buying audio equipment.
One of the better time capsules for capturing our youth and Steely Dan is one of the best 70s bands from America. Unique sound and style still classy today.
Steely Dan was just so almost perfect. Best musicians, great engineering, there really aren't too many bad Steely Dan songs. I mean...there are so few. R.I.P. Walter Becker

Love this song ! Brings back those 70’s and 80's memories 👍🎵❤️🎶 There is that better , I'm in my 70's and stuck in the 70's cuz that was when life was Grand and I found the Love of My Life ❤️🫶🏻 Love You Always Tom Tom
Memories of my 1st time ever hearing this song I think i was about 6 years old around 1981'' Its now 2023'' 40 plus years later And im just now hearing this song again at age 47 maybe for the 2nd time ever.🎶😎
This song was vaguely stuck in my head for years since i was a kid, i had no idea who sung it or the title, all i knew is i loved it! I finally found it on Spotify last week and I have been searching for videos for the song as well, yours is so cool! What a great song!
this is quite special as a 15 year old i was able to hear this on a cd player with great head phones .....now im 53 i have a DAC and Audio Technica headphones its got the crisp back .. nice not quite 15 again but close ...
Reminds me of the days I worked at PHASE LINEAR, the mfg co got high end stereo, AND as the products were being assembled on the mfg floor, we had very high end music pumping thru app 30k sq ft of the building, in Lynnwood, Wa! Best years of my life!
Thank you so much! I've been searching for exquisite source material that's actually properly encoded for once. You're obviously an expert and deeply love sound, and must have an amazing turntable and great AD convertors, etc. Record companies' so-called remastered versions on UA-cam can usually be counted on to utterly pale in comparison(!). Can't tell you how much I appreciate your sharing of this stuff.
I'm digging that comment I had a friend with a great 8-track player and nothing ever sounded the same since he played that sound... That was a happy time in my life.... And the cuervo gold....🎶🎵🎶.... Make tonight a wonderful place..
Their performance of this song on stage became epic when Becker took over the mid-song bridge improvisation role … worth the price of concert admission alone! 😂
This song is why I'm not swiping right on anyone who's my son's age on any dating apps. We got nothing in common. And, I can't even take a guy seriously whose age preference are girls their granddaughter's age: skate a little higher now.😂
I have discovered your channel a little late but absolutely love it. So, are you capturing and playing back the audio via your TT and overlaying it into the video? Just curious as I love the idea if so.
I bought my first Sony CD, LP and radio unit at Best Buy in 1988 and this was the first song I played..., 👏😂 !!!

It may not be required, but sitting back with a cigarette or a joint and putting on some Steely Dan is a good time in my book.
So mellow back then for all of us. So nice.
sorry this song was released in late 1980 but i get your vibe

Can't hear this song without imagining myself in a roller rink.
Nice
Sure looks good
Mmm, mmm, mmm
Skate a little lower, now
When I was a kid and there were still audio stores around, they would always use this song to demo their equipment.
For good reason IMO. Steely Dan has impeccable recordings.
I remember that too. I was a thing.
......with a MoFi pressing if you were really lucky! "I Robot" too.
As did I. I was working at Tower Records in Boston when I discovered this band back in college, late 90’s. From there I always took Aja into the store when buying audio equipment.
Now everything is hyper-compressed via mp3 and bluetooth. Sound quality is no longer a consideration at the consumer level.

Beautiful melody. 🎶🥰
Such a sweet rhythm. Takes me back to growing up in Dixon, California

I love this song!! Oh to be 19 again and run the other way.😊 Steely Dan will always be one of my most favorite groups. Thank you!!❤
Pure rhythm section domination. Sounds so much better now than it did on AM radio.
Some of the best music I remember from the 70’s.

This record came out in the ‘80, but I guess I know what you mean
The record came out in '80, and was, on a sense, foretelling 80's sounds, but I think it was bringing the 70's with it too. One man's opinion!
in a sense, not on a sense

i always thought this song was late 70s....fantastic groove
It has a late 70s sound for sure. Steely Dan was mostly a 70s group and they brought that sound into the 80s. Love this song.
I bought this album in 1980 still listening to steely Dan today at 64
Una autentica maravilla.Que gran nostalgia.
