- How to convert fairy lights or LED string lights to USB.
Its a great modification for any fairy led lights especially for Christmas.
This can be used with your power banks or any 5V output source. - Навчання та стиль
Thanks man for sharing your a Genius!!!!...
Nice & simple, to the point!
Thank you so much!
Thank you
Mate, I just get one long dowel rod, the thickness of a AA Battery (or a AAA Battery ... you can do the same).
Then I cut them up into the lengths of the AA Battery.
If you have a 3 port ornament to power up with USB, then you put in metal screws at each end of TWO dowel cutouts and screw in one piece of cable to each end.
On the THIRD dowel cutout, you add the USB cable. The USB cable needs to be stripped back a few centimetres ... cut out the Green and White cable, then screw the Red and Black cable into your third Dowel at either end.
That's it. You're done. Just place them into your ornament and ... presto ... it all lights up.
how many ohm resistors do I need, to power the 10 wire LED. previously used 3pcs LR44 batteries
Hey man, But how would you convert an ac plug to some battery powered ones?
OMG WAS THINKING TO DO THIS AND STUMBLE ON YOUR VIDEO.
WAS THINKING THERE IS A WAY RATHER THAT BUY BATTERY ALL THE TIME
I'm glad it was helpful
Can I take the 12 volt plug off my contouring light strip and replace it with a USB? Because I only have one 12 volt used for something else. So id like to plug it into my USB port
hi! may i know the specs of the resistor? tia
Awesome - how about to also add add a wifi modul to control via phone?
You could, just need to find a good one to pair with it
Hi, can you do a Zealot s32 5 watts speaker upgrade?
Wish I could but I don't have it anymore, sorry.
Hey dude, can you do a Christmas light next? 😆 i mean can you convert AC plug to USB? (if that’s possible)
I'll try and see if I can find some that I can convert
What about 3 battery fairy lights box?
Sure, just use a resistor with a higher value.
Great instructions is there a way to combine a number of lights to reduce the number you have to switch on seperately please?
I'm sorry, I don't really understand the question.
@@TaylorSoloaiJR sorry let me explain I have 7 separate lights each one has 2 batteries and an on/off and I would like to get to the situation of having just one on/off by combining all 7 ?
I would also like to know this! My mother has 3 strings of novelty lights exactly like the one from the video and she likes to decorate a shelf with them. I could transform them all to 3 USB operated strings, but is it possible to connect the 3 strands into one string with one USB connection?
@@sharkofjoy I hope to successfully complete my project this weekend if it works I will let you know what I did !
@@sharkofjoy 1st attempt hasnt worked need to take it apart and try again 😒
Can I plug the wired USB CORD to a USB to AC adapter and plug it in yo any 12v outlet?
If you want to use a 12v power source, you just need to change the resistor to a higher value.
how to test without soldering first...n test if my cable work....can i just put the wire +/ to the light +/-?
Yes, you can
Could you post a link to the exact resistor that you used? I'm not sure where to get one, thanks
I didn't buy it online, I salvaged it from a broken TV.
What are the colors? Red, red, black, gold, silver?
What was the reason for adding the resistor and why couldn't you direct wire them to the USB?
You will burn the LEDs if you connect them straight to a 5V USB.
The resistor helps limit the current.
where do you live tylor soloai are you gonna do a face reavel next
Hello, do I need a resitor even I'll be using a powerbank as the power supply?
If you have the same one as the one in this video, then yes, you need it.
Otherwise, the lights will get burnt.
@@TaylorSoloaiJR thank you!
I dont have resistor ,can i do it without it ?
You'll end up burning the lights if you don't use it.
Gow can i do this but back wards? From usb to batteries
What kind of batteries?
Can i just plug this to the wall instead of a powerbank?
Yes, anything that can output 5v, phone chargers will work.
Hello please how can I convert a plug to the one that uses batteries
Are you referring to a USB?
hi, can you do a solar powered led to usb? is it possible?
Yes it's possible. I'll try and see if I can do it soon.
@@TaylorSoloaiJR i hope you can do one 😁 looking forward
Hi how can i convert ac plug to battery
you have to rewire it, that's going to be a lot of work.
Can i use glue sticks to join them
To join what part?
@@TaylorSoloaiJR wire with that operator
I dont get it how do u open it im stuggiling😩
Slide the cover
Is there a way to get rid of the ridiculous, ugly, useless battery box ? batteries cost an arm. Rechargeable batteries are a pain in the butt. The box is in the way, it s annoying. I want to connect my led neon sign directly in my computer or a socket wall like a cell mouse keyboard lamp etc....
Just connect the lights straight in series with the correct resistor to a USB wire.
I thought about that too. I think the purpose is to still be able to use the on/off switch. I am confused about the use of a power bank that seems to have a battery in it.
Powerbank with 18650 battery inside was just used to test it and prove that it works with any 5v power source.
Can you cut those lights?
You can
@@TaylorSoloaiJR Thanks
