    The Satisfactory 1.0 update or full release version is out and today I'll be starting a new let's play going through the entire story, then beyond!
    With 1.0 we know what the Mercer Sphere and Somersloops are for, what SAM does, and there are tons of new items that change everything!
    We'll focus on decorating and detailing our huge turbo fuel power plant, as well as mess around with hyper tube cannons!

      You can change splitter type without deleting. Eg, regular to smart splitter. Select the desired splitter, hold ctrl and aim at the splitter you want to replace.

      each video covers somewhere between 20-30 hours of gameplay i would guess. like the amount of time to build up the resources is probably 70% of it. but its all cut because its just him planning off screen and most likely AFK from the game.

    Hey Kibitz great series as always ! At 9:14, you can transform any splitter/merger/etc into any other splitter/merger without destroying them ! Just select the splitter in your build gun, look at the merger, hold control, replace it and voilà ! It can really save a lot of time when our past selves try and prank us xD

    You should connect your geothermal to your backup power system so you never have to worry about turning the grid back on.

      I would put the geothermal on the battery circuit, so the battery can recharge even when they are disconnected. I would also store turbo fuel in a few large tanks with a manual output incase there is a blackout because fuel production stopped.

    I like the name "Turbo Vivarium" since that basically means the turbo fuel aquarium which fits the fish tank looking control room!

    0:40 I started my world and held off on watching Kibitz for a very long time. Then I started and caught up to where I was really quickly. I ended up doing a similar Fuel Generator setup as him but I used MK.5 Belts and it's supposed to produce around 80GWs. I, too, have had this same issue with it. It is only around 46GW.
    Edit: My solution was also to use smart splitters. It failed. Thus now I am coming back to fill up a bunch of industrial buffers with turbofuel as extra stored power so that I can destroy my canisters and reroute three 780 belts for 3 sets of 5 overclocked packagers. Then the odd few extra packagers go on one 780 belt by itself
    Edit: Power Grid is up 61GW out of 80GW. I'm letting it run for a bit to see if needs more balancing or if my modifications will balance it in time.

      Since you only have 3 lines...
      Before your belts hit their current "load balancing zone", put in a merger on each source line.
      After the new merger section, put a smart splitter on each imput line.
      Configure each smart splitter so that its primary output is a straight pass-through, with one of the other outputs set to Overflow and the final output disabled.
      Belt each of the 3 Overflow outputs into their own basic splitter. (Recomend placing the basic splitters directly above the imput lines they came from to help keep things sorted.)
      From 2 of the output sides of the new basic splitters, run a belt to the mergers (on the OTHER 2 source lines) you added to the beginning of the load balancer setup.
      This will logic-lock the game into evenly splitting any backups that occur onto the other belts. If 2 belts are fully saturated at different "pressure rates", the 3rd belt will seamlessly take whatever surplus load that it can handle.
      If all 3 lines fully back up...
      Install a second set of smart splitters in each line (between the mergers and smart splitters you just installed... even if you have to move the mergers farther "upstream" to make room for them lol).
      Configure these new smart splitters so that their primary outputs are straight pass-throughs with the second output set for overflow.
      Belt from the 3 new overflows into awesome sinks.
      This will cause your belted materials to shift to wherever they can possibly be used BEFORE they get purged to keep your system running at capacity. It also negates any inconsistencies or glitches that might crop up if the game gets funny later on.
      I'm pretty sure that this should be called a "3 to 3 Balancer, with pressure relief", but the community might already have given it a name😅

      @mmorris2830 the way I solved my issue of a closed loop canisters not being balanced is as follows:
      All packagers are fully overclocked (150 p/min * 5 = 750) 5 packagers on 780 belt * 3 + a weird one.
      Those four belts go into separate small storage containers, and I let them auto balance manifolds while keeping any eye on the storage containers to make sure there were always a stack or two there but never accumulating more. (This way, empty canisters are always full in the water packagers and always flowing in the fuel unpackagers)

    For the name, I like the sound of "sanctum". Like maybe "Turbo Sanctum" or "Power Sanctum" or "Turbo Control Sanctum" etc. Sanctum kinda sounds like tank and aquarium put together, but also has like an isolated connotation. The vibes just feel right to me.

    Kibs, just so you know, 1.0 introduced a bug with the smart/programmable splitters. They're sending things into overflow even when the other paths aren't overflowing. Doesn't seem like that'll be a problem with what you used them for here, but they're definitely not working quite correctly.

    I really want to introduce you to my belt differential. just uses splitters and mergers. No 'smart' stuff needed. And it keeps things moving. Basically stack splitters/mergers to whatever height for in/outputs, and have the center go straight over to merger, but on sides, one side goes up one, and one side goes down one (with a loop at bottom/top of each side). Will perfectly balance things and is jam proof

    For names for different factories, I go with company sounding names. I usually do clusters too. So one company does oil products and fuel, another one does steel based products, etc. And each one has their own architecture style and colour pallets. Just a personal preference.

    And here I made coal power, basicly skipped oil/fuel power entirely, and then went into nuclear power for my first 1.0 playthrough. Pretty much always had at least double my required power. And once the first nuclear reactors in my initial facility of 40 came online... oh ya... plust the alien boosts and the old coal still running, and every geothermal on the map, power never become remotely an issue again. Also had some nice sky scrapers of batteeries so even if stuff failed I had a lot of backup.... Never ever got even close to using them though, but oh well. I'll probably go back and do more work in that map after some other games/stuff later on.

    There's a simpler solution for the canisters, I have constructors pumping out cans right before the water fillers and a smart splitter just before the constructors to sink the extra cans. Sinks the excess resin, keeps the belts saturated, perfect efficiency.

    did the splitters and mergers the hard way, horizontal. You can make any two lines balance by with two splitters and two mergers.
    The splitters should be after the mergers flow wise. each splitter is connected to the other lines merger. This balance and mixes the two line pretty well. If you use smart splitters have them only send back overflow and pass through everything else. Should work with plain splitters though. If you're just using two belts to carry more of one item than a single belt can this also auto balances so it doesn't how much you pull from either belt as long as you don't try to pull more than one belt can handle.

    that geothermal generator looks like it uses pressure to lift the pistons up and down. meaning magnets on the pistons that create a current with each cycle of the piston. not that it's explained in the game i just wanted to say what i thought it was doing. pistons and release valves is quite simple and you'd need a pretty durable metal for it to not break down quickly along with it being rust proof.

    23:00 I had turbofuel jetpack long before my fuel generator factory. I had made a computer factory that used various recipes including plastic and rubber. I used the heavy turbofuel alternate to create a byproduct disposal system. It was originally all packagers @ 101.6 turbofuel per minute and then I put most of it into fuel generates (11) temporarily

    I want to be kind and say great design. I just can't ever get onboard with the whole packaged water to packaged fuel method. It is a waste of energy. If we get all of the geysers linked up in a single grid, with a power storage bank of a few thousand, and some alien power augmenter buildings, we will never have a shortage of power for critical restarts.

    Using the Somersloops to double production isn't working for me, I inputted 1 hog remain and only got 1 alien protein with the Somersloop. It might have been because I was testing it on a creative world but I don't think that was the case, I remember researching Somersloop production in the MAM and doing it in my survival world. Anybody know why this is happening?

      It's not a bug, the first cycle is normal after you input sommersloops or power shards because it needs one craft cycle to update.
