SDJR7F88 you are so right. I have had a layout in this garden for 29 years, although it has changed a bit over time. The locos just keep going. I have 8 in total, the youngest 0-6-2 i bought second hand in 1984 and they all run perfectly.

Hi mate,another very good video,can i ask your advice,with your G scale layout is it fed by mains through the Piko or LGB electrical clips?,if so do you find any problems with this,being exposed to the elments,and do you use the extra rail joiners and again do you find any problems?I'am planning to build a small G scale layout myself,thankyou for your help.Ant
Hi Anthony, yes I do. However, I unclip them and take them in with the controllers when not in use. As for the extra joiners yes, highly recommended. They add strength to your joins and help with conductivity. Hopefully some of my updates on the construction might be of help. They also show how to use graphite paste with the joiners too. Hope it's of help
@@SDJR7F88 Thankyou that's a great help,i have experience in N gauge with Kato track and also with 00 Peco track,but my experience with G scale track is zero.I have watched several of videos on building your layout,they are great and helpful too.I did have a Bachman class 66 and Piko Tauras,but i traded them with Andy at Kent Garden Rail.He did me a good deal,and i got a Piko starter set,with an oval of track,a 0-6-0 green livery loco BR 80 and 2 coaches,and a controller,i also got 2 4ft lengths of track aswell as part of the deal.I had some waggons already,the same as ECR trains sell.the plan is when i move later this year to build a small layout with maybe a passing loop and maybe a siding,approx 16ft to 20ft long,nothing too big,i scaled down because the other locos needed an 8ft radius.thankyou for all your advice cheers all the best Ant

Okay, thank you! I was looking at a few on eBay and Amazon, and they didn’t say if it worked in America or not, so I was nervous to buy one if it would not work on my indoor layout. Thank you for responding so quickly! ;)
For God’s sake : 1- transformers have multi voltage inputs nowadays and in the rare case they do not then there is always the good old voltage converter . 2- LGB is already big in America for many years now . As a model railroader I find LGB is tough and reliable plus it runs with no trouble both indoors and outdoors 👍🏽😊🚂
@@KCSRailstudios You can have a 110V transformator especially for useing them in the USA. The output of the transformator will always be 9-22 V at the track so the locos are the same you only have to buy a US transformer to use them in the USA.
1. LGB produces equipment for the standardized 45mm gauge that all G-scale equipment uses, with a maximum track voltage of 24v which is standard for G-scale. All modern LGB digital equipment is DCC standards compliant, although their own control systems use a 14 speed step system rather than 28 speed steps to maintain backwards compatibility with early proprietary Lenz-MTS equipment (which otherwise still uses DCC standards). 2. LGB also produces transformers and power packs designed to take 110v 60hz AC input. This used to include starter set power packs, but recently LGB has switched to a power pack setup designed to take a standard "wall wart" style connector in order to reduce costs - as a result, only the transformer is region-specific, with the throttle being standardized across all regions. 3. You don't have to use LGB power packs/transformers. I run my LGB equipment with a USA Trains Train Power 4 power pack since I run multiple trains at once with analog signal block control on my layout and I need the extra amps. This includes multiple 2-motor locomotives and multiple pieces of rolling stock with interior and/or exterior lighting.
Bought my first LGB locos and rolling stock in 1975, they are still going strong after 45 years!!!

what set does the orange stanz come in? I have never seen one before.
It's a Otto from the LGB ToyTrain Starter Set :) It came with a orange and grey open wagon with digger
