- Not all of our survivors come out of their crates with their tails wagging.
Recently Beagle Freedom Project rescued over two dozen beagles who had spent their entire lives as test subjects inside a laboratory. Every rescue is different because we don't usually know what they were tested for. Sometimes beagles come out of their crates and into the fresh air with tails wagging, eager to experience freedom for the first time. We wish it were like that for every survivor, but it's not. Unfortunately, some beagles are traumatized more than others, like Remy. When it came time to open his crate, he just froze in fear. He would not budge no matter how much we sweet-talked him, and he was frightened of even the softest touch. After about half an hour, our President and founder gently reached inside his crate and carried him out. He trembled as if something terrible was about to happen to him. Shannon softly reassured Remy that no harm would come to him and wrapped him in a blanket. She held him for the rest of the day.
Remy is now in a very nurturing foster home, learning that humans aren't all bad, and that there is also love in the world.
The rehabilitation for these laboratory survivors is not just physical. The emotional scars can be more profound.

Our youngest beagle is an Envigo survivor. The trauma our sweet girl endured has left many deep psychological scars, but with time, patience and endless love, healing can begin. Bless BFP for all they do to save these precious souls like Remy.
God bless you guys for rescuing these dogs. There are just not words to describe this animal testing. I do believe God is keeping score because these are God's creatures God's creations we are supposed to be stewards good stewards Godly Stewards. Thank you for rescuing these jobs from the absolute demons that work in those labs
Dogs insticts can be your best ally in the path of recovery. Place Remy in a pack of healthy and confident dogs. We could never be better teachers than other dogs can. Good luck to Remy ❤

I saw this it just broke my heart I adopted a Envigo Beagle in Aug of 22 The Chatt Tn Humane Society got 21 my wife and I got one im a tough guy when we went to get her I wouldn't go in where they were she picked alittle girl out and when she came in the Waiting room I asked her how she made her decision she said she looked the saddest, She was born in that hell hole in Vir in April of 2017 she stayed there for 5 yrs she was scared to death of every thing outside opening a coke can door etc she is doing much better we have had her 8 months she is very loving loves treats we spoil her she has lots of accidents we just clean them up she will never be yelled or spanked we knew what were getting into she had her first Christmas that she was free.Zher birthday was this month In April she is 6 I worry about the effects down the road that me shorten her life I hope not were just happy to have her and give her the kind of life she deserves didnt mean to make this so long , but just wanted to know what kind of trauma somecof these dogs go through 😢it is heartbreaking .
