I’ve had this go kart for 3 years. Have gone through countless motors. I bought it for my daughter and same deal.. she did not get enough time on it. I really hope you do an update or diy if you do end up completing that idea!
Yeah man I’m glad you’re tackling this project. I’m at the same point you’re at. Have a 2 year old that loves ours and a 6 year old that wants to go faster. We haven’t had any issues with ours but I want longer run times and higher speeds. Live axle is what I was thinking too. Maybe use my Ego batteries. That would be perfect.
I’ve had my sons less than a month it’s stock and within the first five minutes broke the gears so got radio flyer to send me new gearbox/motor assembly well put that in and lasted a couple days till the other side broke. The gears break so easy do you have any recommendations
What about a old alternator or starter would that be enough torque for her? Just thinking them because you can get them free for most part someone has one laying around and you can control the speed of them and should have enough torque for her for at least a couple more years.
@@themontemoto Yeah I got a huge pile of glass in my yard from there and have tons of green marbles are what I call them, but they melt both the green marbles and the clear huge 70lbs or more chuncks of clear glass.

Oh nice if you bought into the ego system those batteries are huge! I’d try to make those work too

Working on it 🫡 coming soon
Any updates?!
Rc car motors? (The monster truck version?
Not a bad idea. I salvaged an electric scooter I think I’m going to try to make that work

Not a bad idea! I have some starter motors lying around 🤔🤔I’ll look into it! Thanks for the tip!
@@themontemoto No problem thats what I was hoping you had one, knew ya would :D
Daaaahhhh!
Lol
My whole family worked at Owens Corning in Newark, Ohio my grandfather retired from there after 55 years.
That’s cool I’ve done some video work with them!

I’m in the same boat. I may put a small gas motor on it. Harbor freight here I come. I 😅also could not find a pressure sensitive pedal if any sort
Gas is the next step after I try a bigger motor I think 🤔
It was a really bad idea directly power the motor without the controller(brain), the current will burnt motor immediately
Yep that’s what happened 🤷♂️
I was drifting mine, and the go kart motors blew up, both motors, it made a huge cloud of smoke. And there was no modifications on it
That’s interesting because the fuses should have tripped first
@@themontemoto yeah, I think they just got too hot. Would something like that trip the fuses?
UPDATE?!?!?!?
Still planning on doing it! Life’s been super busy but I’ll get to it
