Every country has the right to build military equipment's they can use to defend themselves. Iran was once attacked and bombarded by chemical weapons supplied to Saddam by the US where thousands were killed. That experience taught Iran valuable lesson to stand up and produce their own means of defense, and now that they are making significant progress they are also being told not to do it and are sanctioned because of it while other countries are increasingly becoming more powerful with greater threat of elimination of leaders by force and staging regime change through sponsored coup.
Imagine if Gaddafi was as powerful as Iran militarily, no one could have tried the nonsense of invading his country and bombing it to ashes and turning it into a terrorist hub. Though, he was into nuclear weapons production as well but was convinced to gave them up in exchange for lifting sanctions on Libya and he agreed, after 8 years of that mistake, NATO which was not an African alliance and has nothing to do with operating anywhere in Africa was unleashed on them bombing palaces, killing thousands and eliminating Gaddafi himself which was the actual target and not protecting the civilians as they falsely made the world to believe.
