    Yeti supersecret bike you weren't supposed to mention yet? ;)
    I accidentally built a downcountry bike when I was building my meme Schwinn.... I accidentally ordered a Marzochi Z2 in 120 instead of 100. I kinda think I like it better than I would have liked the 100.

    I had the chance to try it, and surprisingly, I found it a bit sluggish when accelerating. Compared to my aluminum Chisel Comp, is this normal? Could it be due to the components? Can someone help me? Is this typical of carbon? That said, the geometry remains very interesting! However, I find the components a bit underwhelming considering the price.

    I like this bike very much. It's playfull and that is what I was looking for instead of a full xc bike. But I agree with some basic components like the brakes and the shifter. But overall a very nice bike and worth to buy🤙

    Great review Guy. This is why I tune in. So many spout so much sh1t just because they think they should please people/manufacturers etc. It’s your opinion that I want. Keep up the good work

    I'm so tempted on this, just to get my fitness back up and have to work for it. Maybe a use suspension post and a riser bar?

    Thanks for the great review, as always. I feel I need to adress what you said about a possibility of shortening stems and switching for riser bars, and also a considerable backsweep in my case, which is exactly what I did on hardtail and a full suspension, both xc. In my fifties, And certainly not racing, I still love the lightness and responsive quality of bikes in this genre, but the forward leaning attack position and low stack are quite limiting, not to say painfull. the result of these changes in the front is a great delight- an almost doubling of the miles I can do comfortably with no bodily aches. I would love to have seen what a tinkering of the components on this frame could do, especially because of the mixed results Youv'e had with it. Thanks again for your absolute proffessional approach and straightforward mindset. Always enjoyable!

      Cheers for the feedback. I’m hoping that Mondraker will let me have a play around with the spec as I’ve definitely got some changes I’d love to try.

    3.5k is a joke for that spec. There’s a lot of better options at that price!

    Hi there, I watch your videos a lot and to be honest, I really like them. I’m from France, and I’m really thinking things over right now. Can you please help me? I’m hesitating between the Chrono DC RR and the Chrono DC RR Aluminum. Currently, I’m riding a Chisel Comp, which I find good but not comfortable enough. I also have a Cube Reaction Carbon that’s sitting in my garage! Thank you 🙏

    Mondraker always seem to do this with their spec; they build stunning, premium frames and then put some basic components here and there. It’s a £3.5k hardtail, there should be no SX or NX here. I could deal with alloy wheels at that price but some other bits just seem mean.
    I do find the geo pretty much as I would expect though, personally. Comparing it to an Epic Hardtail for example, the reach is a full ‘size’ longer - 430 vs 445 in Medium… I wouldn’t want any more reach for a trail/DC/XC bike.
    I would love to hear your thoughts on this bike with proper wheels on it… that very set up is on my shortlist as I love the brand and look.

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  4 місяці тому +3

      Hi Mockle, you're now the third person who's reckons the reach is right for this category of bike so you've definitely got me thinking about whether I've judged it wrong for the intended audience. I've already changed the thumbnail and title after your comment as it's certainly not as cut and dried as I thought. I've got a ton of lightweight wheels and fast tires on test at the moment so I'll get it skinned up with a set of those and see how it goes. Cheers for the feedback and watch this space to see how it goes in a faster, lighter spec.

    • @Mockle07
      @Mockle07 4 місяці тому

      @@GuyKesTVYeah at a towering 5’8 (on a good day), I regard 450 reach as plenty for a trail or enduro bike, and would certainly look for a bit less ideally for an XC/DC focussed bike. Obviously there’s more to it than just reach but when I looked at the geo I thought it sounded spot on. £3.5k is a lot of money but in today’s world I wouldn’t expect carbon wheels at that price but for me, having the standard wheels for tougher trails and a set of light carbon wheels & tyres for gravel/XC duty would (hopefully) give this all the bandwidth I need. Look forward to your thoughts on the lighter set up, keep up the good work 👍🏻

    For a XC bike 445 reach on a MEDIUM frame is perfect, Especially because of the longer stem. Medium bikes are ideal for 5’7-5’9 people. NOT 5’10-11 guys like yourself. Also the 67.5 is very “modern” for an XC/DC bike. I found this review for a lack of a Better word… strange. You mumbled yours words often and didn’t make sense half the time. Do better mate.

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  4 місяці тому +5

      Sorry about the mumbling, I’ll try and enunciate better next time. I’d agree that 445mm reach is OK for XC too with the longer stem. But this isn’t an XC bike this is a DC bike and compared to Mondraker’s other trail style bikes it’s very short. Also given that a hardtail steepens more under compression I don’t think 67.5 is slack enough. But as I said in the review, if it’s what you’re after then great and it sounds like it’s spot on for you so happy days. Thanks for your feedback anyway Joshua, it’s all super useful to hopefully improving and giving others a full perspective via the comments.
