I like your Camera set up and view. What did you use for the camera and support? My old Go-Pro's from 12+ years ago aren't goin to cut it for my next trip... Feel free to ping me directly if that's easiest. Thanks in advance!
I used an Insta360 X3 mounted on a PVC pipe that fit in an umbrella holder. The camera shoots in 360 and the software stabilizes the horizon which makes for drone like shot.
Pretty much all your runs in Hance were too far right. And splitting the horns at Horn Creek would have worked better for you.
I appreciate your feedback. This was my 1st trip down the Grand and we had members of our crew who were on their 28th trip in 30 years. I took their advice on lines and then watched other boaters successfully take them. I know at 5,000 CFS and from looking at the river at the time they didn't feel that splitting the horns was the safest line. Being able to go back and look at the video has opened my eyes to other lines. Hopefully, I will get another chance at running the Grand and can take other lines.
