Sorry Paul. But you are not a foreigner any more. .
I know Mexican people who use Lemon as hair gel. It's actually my mom, and she also uses as deodorant sometimes. It's not a lack money now, I think it was the lack of money back then, so she got used to it.
Thanks for sharing that!
lime as eye cleaner.
During a visit I made to Germany I went to the cinema. I sat just to the side of a very beautiful German girl. However, her armpits stank!!! Fortunately for me she didn´t move almost the whole movie so the smell was bareable. I think some Germans have this idea of being organic or to use only natural things and not to use chemicals, something like that. I should suggest her to use a lime. After all, being organic is not at odds with being clean.
Its not only do to lack of money, deodorants are harmful so my substitute is either Lemons or Limes i use it every 3 days and works a lot better and its natural
Mi mom used to make hair gel with nejayo ( the water left after boiling corn for toritllas)and lime lol only for special occasions
That story about the waitress with limones in her purse was priceless, Paul, and made your point about Mexicans' dedication to the humble lime. One good thing about their taste for sweet drinks is that Mexican soda pop is the best in the world! Love Jarritos Tamarindo!
Yes, it has to be said Mexican soda pop is indeed very tasty. Jarritos is of course classic!
awesome flavor I love it also .
Diabetes though. Soda drinks are something we grew up, sometimes drinking even with breakfast.
Any diet variety of Panafiel is fine for me!
Tonicol
Paul, as a happy and proud Mexican, I truly believe that you’re the only English speaking youtuber living in Mexico that actually respectfully portraits Mexican culture, huge kudos for that. Now, in a different order of ideas, where is that birria place you just went to? I wanna try it, looks bad!!!!
Thanks a lot! It's just a few mins down the road from Six Flags.
"dame la hora" hahah i'm mexican and it's the 1st time I heard this one, good tip Paul!
Miguel Ramos for me too!
the one ive heard before is "no te la doy, te la cobro" 😂
Te manda saludos pati miguel
PepeDawggTM what does that one mean?
"Disculpe podría darme la hora por favor" algunas veces lo escuché.
@@peytongomer2305 that he does not give you the time, he will charge you, it is an answer in the form of a joke for having said "give me"
"No te la doy, te la cobro"
"I don't give it to you, I charge it to you"
to avoid that joke it is better to say, could you tell me what time it is?
Uncle Paul is sure one tough english guy with an iron stomach to thrive in this street food jungle.
These days my tummy is STRONG. But with experience I also know that looks risky and what doesn't :D
Yoo! I thought of that too, I ocationaly get sick in the first 3 days I go to Mexico. I think is mainly the water and milk that keeps me running a few days.
I lived in the Uk for 5 years and I completely lost my resistance to eat food in the streets...I miss that. However, I got the craze for fish and chips, and the Bombay mix haven't found a good place here in Mexico where to get them
That miso soup story made me laugh a lot! #mexicanadas 😂
I know its so funny
Yo amo mis hermanos y hermanas de méxico, soy de columbia británica, canada🇨🇦🇲🇽
It is very nice of you to say "I feel lucky" to have this amazing food on a daily basis.... Believe me, we all mexicans feel that way too xD Specially when we travel, and are away from home for a month or so... it becomes even a torture to think about mexican cuisine and being so far away haha...
Yes, I've heard that said many times. When Mexicans travel they really miss made in Mexico Mexican food :D
True Mexico lol, you couldn’t have said it better, Made in Mexico, sometimes businesses elsewhere just don’t get it right 😅 you might have just noticed that with that Birria or with the Chupacabras!
Damianrock I know that feeling bro. I completely agree.
Damianrock and... in other countries, the "mexican food" they got isn't even near close to our special and opulent flavors.
All 5 are so true Paul🤗👊
Thank you for your work! Love the videos!
Pleasure!
That's true!, most of mexicans are crazy about adding "chile" on everything hahaha
Maruchan con camarón y salsa Valentina.
wonderhomie2011 yummiii 😋
😍😍😍😍😍 siempre comia para el desayuno, almuerzo, y cena cuando era niño hahahaha
O tambien con una salsa que se llama san luis, no me acuerdo bien como se llama
Y jugo de limón.
My mom: “échale limóncito”
Damn, that birria made me mouth watering so much
That was the idea!
hey man, great videos!, just one correction, Birria is made of Goat (Jalisco), Barbacoa is made of Lamb (Hidalgo), and I agree with everyone else, you are already Mexican!
Thanks amigo! That was Tijuana style birria which is made with lamb. But I know Mexicans will 'debate' this stuff all the time ja
I live near the places you filmed! Thank you for understanding and enjoying our culture! Lots of love!
So true about the Chinese food in a middle of nowhere town lol
Exactly! I was once in a middle of nowhere town and even on the outside of the town on the way in, there was a Chinese place. Next to it were little fondas, people selling pottery on the street. You can picture the scene. An Oxxo in the distance...
Great video as always uncle Paul. Hope to be supporting you soon on Patreon.
Thanks amigo.
Great video!!! Yeah, We Mexican have an obsession with green lemon. I hope one day you can visit Baja California Sur, we have beautiful beaches!!
Noe Quintana limes
Como siempre Paulo, Great video and thanks for the work you put into these. Limones, limones everywhere which is awesome. I actually ate at one of those Chinese restos on that very street when I was in La Ciudad! You have to feature that amazing Mexican goat soup in a future video bro. Best meal I had in my entire two months in THAT FANTABULOUS COUNTRY!! Viva Mexico from Canada.
Thank you!
Hey tio Paul. Thank you so much for your videos, as having just moved to Monterrey from London I find myself nodding along and smiling away to your comments on the wonderful Mexican way of life.
I wasn't aware that the word-play thing was so big here, but now you mention it I have been with groups of friends and wondered why they would spend hours joking and laughing at different word combinations and meanings. Now I know why.
On a previous video you helped me understand why the word 'stupid' is so frowned upon here, I also had no idea!
Keep up the great work and I look forward to your next video.
Great to read that amigo. I hope you are settling in well to life in Mexico!
Two different worlds hahaha we have a thing like in the uk that seperates south mexicans to north mexicans
I really learn more about my own country with your videos. Excelent work 💪
You nailed it, Paul!
Thanks Tio Paul for your videos, so happy when you post new videos. One day i'll visit Mexico!!!!
I never noticed the Chinese food thing before, but now that I think of it whenever my mom didn’t want Mexican food she’d always take us to get Chinese, it was her to go to eating out place. Makes sense now lol
As always your videos never disappoint!!
Great to read.
Dame la hora- dámela ahora 😂😂😂 I love it

Yeah, I kind of agree with you on point 2 to be honest. I don't generally like nanny state policies like sugar tax, although if the sugar tax is working I think it's a good thing.
Jaja, I like how you dropped in the third one.
Jaja had to really.
True Mexico hey Tío Pol donde has estado !!!!!
Just found you and my husband and I *appreciate you*! These are great videos, fascinating, informative, hilarious....thanks!
I haven't had noticed about our love to chinese food but its completely true :) Great video
Not just Chinese food but all oriental foods my amigo loco
Yeah for sure.
I'm surprised Paul always seems to eat "en la calle", pal, you surely have a stronger stomach than the average Mexican.
Rafael Ramírez hahaha i agree👌😂
It's really strong :D
??? really, i eat in the street all the time, most of us single men do since we have no time in the morning to make breakefast
Si sabes donde no hay pex.
Same thing i thought about. There i no way I could eat "en la calle" some "tacos de muerte lenta" without getting sick lol
Great video uncle Paul!
Awesome as always, Paul!!!
Hey Paul I have seen many channels with forein people trying to show Mexico but man!!!! They don't have the quality that your videos have.. I'm always gonna love your channel more!!!

Good video Paul, Greetings
Hey Paul, great video
Thank you.
You are awesome I love your videos!
Thanks!
Look at this, todos los mexicanos speaking English in the comments, we are a bilingual country, I think that's awesome
I love how you always get to capture the actual spirit of the streets in Mexico. Your videos are a reminder of all the great things we have around. Especially food, haha! I hope you're always feeling welcome in our country!
Love the way you see the little details of our daily life like that man with the knives..!! Birria is really tasty like it!!.. I think this is pretty obvious but we really love spicy things and candies with tamarind :p.. Saludos Paul.. soy fan!! Jaja

Very well deserved. :D
Another great video. You're always so entertaining and informative at the same time. 😎
Saludos desde Cd. Guzmán, Jalisco. ✌️
Fun fact, one of Mexico's most famous painters/muralists, José Clemente Orozco is from Guzmán. :)
Great video dude! Greetings from Ciudad de México!
Thanks!
Paul you are the best!!! You are almost Mexican now! It is great to have foreigners like you in our country.
Nice to here from you again Tío Paul!!! 👌👌👌
OMG!!! I really enjoy when you tell us about some facts and daily things that only happens in Mexico. Thank you guy!!!
You're the best 😎
Another nice video, thanks paul.
One thing Paul are you crazy for all this things Limes and Coca-Cola ????and yes Paul those tacos of birria that you've tried are a Tijuana Baja California Style I'm from over here and recognize them and are absolutely delicious 👍👍😊😊🇹🇦🇨🇴🇸😋😋
I definitely have more limes these days that's for sure. I hardly drink refrescos to be honest. If I need that kind of drink though, I go for Limon & Nada. No calories although I'm sure it's not got good stuff in there. But that's what I go for if I want something like that.
True Mexico
Good to hear that Paul and something else that you've mention that is really true is that we Mexicans are Crazy for is Chinese food Especially over here in the state of Baja California because of a big community of Chinese people that came over here along time ago.... But I have a question is the Chinese food over there in CDMX the Same as the One over in Baja California. The most popular Chinese food that almost everybody eats over here is Choup Suey and this Chicken made of pineapple🍍Sauce, but the pineapple Sauce is not spicy just the opposite it's very sweet..... it's so sweet that something I like to do every time I eat it is to Roll the chicken over on the rise so that the rise 🍚 can make it less Sweeter than it already is.... and also the Xung Kun which they are like this Chinese Tacos..... Well that's what everyone calls them "Chinese Tacos" but there called the Xung Kun.....????? Do you guys have that same food over there in CDMX or is it different.
I've never been to Baja but I have been to loads of places in Mexico and the Chinese food is always the same!! (unless you go some kind of special Chinese place). Loads of Choup Suey and pineapple chicken too.
True Mexico
Good to hear that because I've heard that the Chinese food in Mexico was made by an many Chinese immigrants that came to Mexicali Baja California Choup Suey the Chicken and the Xung Kuns Originated by the Chinese community that live in the Capital of Baja California Mexicali, that's why I Thought that Choup Soey the Xung Kun and every all the other Chinese cuisine are only a Baja California since it originated from Mexicali, but now I know it's the Same in all of Mexico especially over there in CDMX good to hear that Paul because since it originated from Mexicali I thought it was only a Baja California Chinese food.... I that the Chinese food you had over there in CDMX is like Chinese food in the US like the Show Mein and other foods which is different from the Chinese food that we have here in Mexico but good to hear that it's the Same everywhere in Mexico Paul 👍👍😋😋
Quizá nunca has venido a Guadalajara porque acá se venden en cada esquina y desde siempre
Dude, you’re awesome!!!!
Keep up the amazing work!
Hey Pablo! :) Terrific videos!! :)
Thanks!
Paul, I agree with you about Mexicans being crazy about Chinese food. Funny thing is that some of us Mexicans who actually study Chinese culture and have been to China, when we come back we kind of complain about the authenticity of Chinese food because in the West it is adapted to a Western palate. But in Mexico no one cares about authentic Chinese food, even if it's made by Chinese in Mexico 😂. We only care that Mexican food is authentic at all costs. But good fact you brought up!
Good point. I spent 2 years living in Beijing and as you know the food is totally different. But I still like the stuff in Mexico :D
You sure are a lucky guy sampling those dishes im Mexico City as we speak
What a great video, just as always!!!
"Dame La Hora' = "Dámela Ahora" No mams yo caí una vez con el puñetas de mi primo
es verdad ciertamente admiramos un poco la cultura de China, Japón, Corea por lo disciplinados que son, su buena comida su gran ingenio y porque tienen una gran cultura.
Paul!! 👋😎 we love your work!
Awesome videos x
Thanks! 😎
Now you understand why in Coco everyone laughed because Héctor died "Eating chorizo"
I loved the story about the waitress with her personal stash of lemons.
Congrats on 60k subs!!
Thanks a lot!!
My theory on sodas is that, as you may know, fruit water is a very traditional drink in mexican foods. So sodas are a sparkly cheap and quick version of it. See for example how mexican soda companies (Peñafiel and Jarritos) have sodas flavored as various fruits while foreign ones stick to cola, orange, lime and apple ones.
Very good point amigo.
Yeah the soda, taco, and chinese food part is true.
Really enjoyed this video, you seem like a very cool dude and respectful of the culture
Very engaging video as usual, Paul! Just one small and respectful remark. Perhaps, "Cosas que vuelven locos a los mexicanos" may be a more suitable translation for the title. That's it! Cheers! ; )
I completely love your vids Paul! ♥️🇲🇽
Love your background music and edits. 👍🏼 I don’t like drinking Soda, but you got me on the lemon part... it’s impossible to eat a Miso soup without it😝
yep, about the albur one, it is one of the best parts about mexicn culture when it comes to the spanish language, I am Mexican but when I watched Archer and found out about Phrasing I just felt so happy to see Albur in another language been used as much as here in my natal land
Hello Paul :) yes that lemon in many dishes: tacos, fries, bear. Great video as always Paul, hope you´re dealing well with Mexico´s heat those days, thumbs up hasta luego :D
Awesome video!!!
Thanks!
My grandma loves Coca Cola. When she visits us in the United States she always tells me to grab a coke before I leave in the morning for school lmao. And for the word play is so true. One example is when I’m too lazy to repeat myself & I just say “nada” which means nothing & to swim. My mom hits me with a “where? There’s no water.”
Very nice video. I really enjoy your Channel. I live in Chapala, and the original birria is made from goat. And we have like 15 different kinds of homemade salsa in the stores. Watching you made me homesick. I go back next month. Can't wait. Thanks for the great videos!
Wow, sounds so great. I've been to Chapala but it was just for a wedding event by the lake so I didn't experience local life there.
Great video!!! tío paul.
I love your accent
Thanks!
Ola Paul!. Thanks for your work and don’t forget to mention “chamois”.. 👍
Keep up the good work Paul, I always enjoy watching your channel.
Thanks a lot.
Great video, so true! :)
you really know Mexico, congratulations Paul
Hey tío Paul! Keep the great work!
Thanks Carlos!! It's awesome to have fans of my work like you!!
where is the Birria stand? it looks pretty good, I'd like to visit it next time I'm there!
Thanks for this videos!!!!!
hahaha buen video gracias desde California
Hello, I'm from Austin, Texas. I've always enjoyed watching you. I appreciate your videos. Thank you.
I had the opportunity to visit Mexico City, back in 1994, but as times have gone by,... I don't remember much of my experience, Because I losted my camera etc,.
During that trip. :) anyways ,... Thank you
My Spanish teacher used to tell my class that when she traveled outside the USA she was extreamly careful of water and which brand she bought because some sources are not completely safe for the body. This could make a lot of sense as to why soda is such a huge consumer product in many countries rather that water. I could totally be wrong because I love soda as much as the next person but this story from my teacher has always stuck with me. I love your videos by the way; because they are extremely informative and unique.
Consomé 😍
Haha tienes mucha razón con lo de wordplay, Un saludo!
Wow you tube has gone to two commercial per break interesting, good job, love chinese as well.
Nice video Paul
You have absolutely got the point. Lolol. You are a true Mexican now, Paul.
The Chinese food bit was pretty accurate! You should consider coming to Mexicali; it’s said to have the best Chinese food in the country and an entire Chinese underground town in the city centre (known as “La Chinesca”). Greetings from Mexicali, BC!
You made laugh great job tio Paul
Good to read.
A huevo birria estilo Tijuas. Saludos tío Paul
Tío Paul!!
Ya me hacía falta un video tuyo!!
Saludos!!
