Bought back a lot of memories seeing this and hearing the sounds. Im with MSFS and X-Plane 11 now but FS9 will always be one of my favorite sims. In fact I think Im close to snagging an old laptop and will totally stick FS9 on it and mod the heck out of it. Excellent tutorial, please have my like & sub!
I am the same way. was an FS2004 user for a long time and now fly XP11 and MSFS, though i've got some FS2004 content planned, something which I've not seen done on youtube. I will be back home and with my full simulator so expect a livestream within the next week! thanks for watching!

Excellent thank you soo much. I have a Cessna 150 home cockpit and has fs9, fsx and xp11. Surprisingly FS9 works the best out of them all. Fs9 can do EVERYTHING that a home cockpit builder needs and performs so much better than the others as you don’t need a super computer to run it. FS9 all the way!!!!

With Nvidia graphic cards, you can use Nvidia inspector with more options and i.e. add SGSS for AA transparency. However, since the latest Win10 updates, first you will have to select the value 0x004412C1 (Diablo III) in 1-COMPATIBILITY - Antialising compatibility. If not selected, Antialiasing adjustments don't work in windowed and full screen mode.
2024 and still using 2004; if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Except these awesome mods attached!
I built my whole world frozen in time to 2005, and it's always there when I want to go back. To include all the old airline traffic and retired aircraft.

I´m still with fs2004. It´s look very good with some mods. Also the iFly 737 is terrific. I prefer flying it in 60 fps than strugling in the new ones.
I love the Ifly, and with silky smooth fps, it's amazing. I also have the Wilco A320 series, and those FPS are lower because of the model, but it's still flyable. My newer video for example with the landing in Bergen with the Ifly, those are the fps I see almost all the time
Really good video, about to try these mods now, particularly loved the lighting at 22:55 on the road, the lights look like actual streetlights!
I just installed FS2004 yesterday in my Windows 10 pro equipped OS. I so want to make it comparable to my P3D V5.3!
I first experience FS2004 in July 2004 in my cousin’s PC in Hong Kong, it was partial fun and then installed FS2004 in my own desktop PC in February 2005 while a sophmore in high school. It was low quality on my end but i enjoyed it. 18 years later, I can relive those memories with the HIGHEST spec’d computer I built!
Awesome to hear! While it won't compare to the modern Sims it'll have nostalgia going for it. I run X-Plane 12, P3D and MSFS today but FS9 still has a place for me

-Real Environment Xtreme
-Ultimate Night Environment
How well do you think they would overlap with your settings? Do you think I should (or should not) add any of these? Thank you!
@@2806vick REX is a direct competitor to ENVTEX, and I preferred ENVTEX, especially now as it has been free for a few years.
AEU7 I didn't have much experience with, so that's up to you, but again, ENVTEX covered the ground textures
Ultimate Night Environment
I think Ultimate Terrain would be the better product, albeit more expensive, but provided a lot more detail than just night textures.

Hi J. I'm having problems dowloading the Orbix files from the links you provided. Both were in .rar format. your video shows they are .bmp. After downloading it automatically went to a save mode. Unfortunately I can't even open them and none of the options to open them work. The links are are from a russian source and it is impossible to google for Orbix5 to download them from somewhere else. Help.
Hello. So yes the files are compressed in a RAR file. What you need to do is download 7zip and install it. Its super simple and is a really good tool. From there you can extract the files from the RAR format. RAR compresses the files much more than the normal .zip and is more economical. However you need the 7zip to be able to access them. Once done you can continue on as normal! Hope this helps!

thank you! I am currently only using a GT430 for my GPU. however FS2004 is CPU intensive rather than GPU, and my CPU is an i7 2600K. I have 8gigs of of ram, and I found a patch so the sim can access 4gigs instead of the original 2. so in short, I have 8 gigs of DDR3 ram and a GT430.

Yea, I run FS2004 on, Windows 10, but all of my payware planes are gone. I might switch back to Windows 7 or something like that. I paid a lot of money for those planes

You're welcome! I plan to release an update version and add some payware options to it. There have been many amazing advances in the fs9 world since this video came out. Right now though my real world flight training takes precedent.

hiii, if i don't bother i like to ask you some things. I've installed "fs 04" just now, i've entered in the Menu start a flight and noticed that i can't look around while im into the cockpit and i don't undrrstend why. plus that fov changes is part of your changes to the game you've performed in this video (also into the cockpit) 6:03?
Do you have a hat switch you're trying to look around with in the 3D cockpit?
@@ShortFinal damn I forgot to mention that I’m playing with mouse and keyboard…and I suppose that with it this function isn’t possible (the looking around thing). Plus the fov inside the cockpit is really low and I have not found in settings any changeable option. I used to play with a joystick back then when it came out 😢 Ps: I know that mouse and keyboard is a blasphemy but I just installed the game to replay it without much effort
@@Ersymondequartiere312 to zoom use the plus and minus key to the left of the backspace. as for looking around I'm not sure as I've never flown without a joystick. it may be worth picking one up.

for some reason when i try to run the envtex setup file, it says that it can't run it because it has a virus or unwanted software. do you have any idea what the problem might be?

Great Video dude. Is there some AI Traffic for FS9???. I know WOAI, but you musst add them one per one lol
I honestly don't use AI traffic. I have used WOAI and what I did is i just downloaded them all and put the zip files in a folder. Then I simply ran the installer and selected all the zip files. It then installed them all at the same time.
The only other one I can think of would he ICE ai if you can still find it.

Let me ask. After tweaking the Nvidia spector. How you set the fs2004 display menu? You let antialising on?
I run all of my antialiasing settings through Nvidia inspector. Doesnt kill your frame rate as bad and looks better. Follow the full environment 9 settings for the compatibility.
Hi, when I try to use sweetfx it changes the directx version and the game won't run, then I have to reinstall fs2004 and start again - anyone else had this?

Having trouble with the OrbX links and HD-Simulation Trees link. Doesn’t download files, it just opens notepad and has some writing on it
The orbx links worked for me. Try them in a different browser. As for the trees, you'll have to search them on Google. Flightsim . Com links never last sadly
Great video. Just want to add about the full enviroment 9 the ( Global Post Processing ) ENBSeries + SweetFX Natural. Where exactly does the folder go in FS9 Folder? Would it just go into the main folder when i open the FS9 folder or would it go into the texture folder or ( scenery-world-texture folder ) as i'm a little bit confused and even the manual online doesn't really explain where to put the folder, thanks.
If I remember correctly they just go Into the main fs9 folder.

hello! so I have found that for some PCs a windows security update killed the ability for windows 10 to run FS9. to get fs9 running you need to uninstall this update: KB3086255
also important is to run as an administrator and have the 9.1 update and 9.1 NoCD patch installed.

how do I deal with the random autogen trees popping up all over some airports after I have installed everything?
I have had this problem but it lays within the FS9 coding. For example the excellent freeware Toronto scenery compatible with AES has trees all over it. I've tried an exclude file but it doesn't work. I have never been able to figure this problem out
Canada seems to be the one place mainly with the problem, would installing ultimate terrain for Canada potentially solve this issue@@ShortFinal
@@aallenebs it may. I have tried ultimate terrain and it took a lot of memory and made the sim crash more often. It could all depend on what you want. I myself have given up on default airports and really only fly to payware where there isn't any problems.
@@ShortFinal - Autogen to zero seems to be the only way. Had the same problem with Atlanta 1972.

thx, will definately try, but my main culprit is real life weather... how come theres no free tool to get weather data in fs2004?? i mean weather database is freely available on the internet isnt it?
also what i dont understand that my PC is bottlenecking on a i5 4670k its clearly the cpu not the gpu how this is possible with a 16y old game, should be butter smooth...
There is a tool for weather. FSREALWX works great. As for performance, could be the CPU. Also check to make sure your fps limiter is off.
Great video but I am having trouble with SweetFx working in conjunction with the Nvidia profile inspector settings. Its like the NPI is canceling out SweetFx. If I delete the NPI settings, SweetFx will work fine. Its like I can use only one or the other. Any thoughts? It may have someone to do with the AA settings?
That is interesting. You can try using the built in AA settings, or try this. See if SweetFX works while in windowed mode with the NPI settings. If that's the case get a borderless windowed app offline for free and you'll be able to play FS9 in "full screen" even though it's in windowed mode.
Thank you for your quick reply. I have tried in both windowed and non windowed screens. Do you have your Nvidia control panel set to your graphics card as default or do have it on recommend auto select? In the global settings and phys x I have both of those set to my RTX graphics as default. Not sure if it needs to be set back to auto select. I know some programs will not run correctly if the CPU graphics are not on and only using the GPU. Im only running the GPU graphics. Not the Intel graphics
I think I figured it out. Using Nvidia profile inspector, I should not have to mess with the N control panel or Geforce experience. As I think the profile inspector would take the place of either of them.

I will do long flights with my acer nitro 5 and download mods, alot like 13h flights ect. Use GPS to land :D because I don't have joystick. I could do it with mouse but then again i can do it with keyboard and GPS. Landing may be pretty rough but still. It's on my way half with downloading i can takeoff nicely too with variety of planes. stuff :D

@@RICARDOLopez-bi2jd ok. So the reason it's not working is because Microsoft shut down the real time weather servers a long time ago. I recommend FSRealWX, which is a freeware replacement for real time WX. It is free and simple to use. I use it all the time and is the best freeware option. That should solve the problem.

When you download the FS9 ENVTEX, install it, start it up, go to the help tab, and the manual is the first link at the top. Let me know if that works for you
What to do with the sweetfx where to copy??
the SweetFX will go into the main FS9 folder. I have the configurator which comes with it so you can edit the looks in real time. I got rid of ENB after it made my sim look too dark and switched to SweetFX only, which can be seen in my newest two videos.

@@cyylentt if you watched the video, you should have the active camera.zip and the crack file from the Google drive. Install active camera using the installer. Next take the Google drive activecamera.dll file and copy it into the modules folder. Replace the other file and then AC will work. I glossed over it in the video as it's not too hard to do.

@@ShortFinal Just did a full install and it looks like just under 3GB. FSX is the 20GB one. Wright flyer is fun. That Lindberg aircraft is bitch to take off in. Finally got it off the ground. Bell 206 is as bad as the FSX one. Dodosim FSX is great, though.

Thanks! Those files get copied to your main fs9 folder. If it doesn't work, you can try and get a different d3d9.dll. if it works but there is no anti aliasing, then you have the same problem as a lot of people trying to run sweetfx.
To uninstall simply copy the files again, overwrite the corresponding files in fs9 and delete them all.

@@yuep6808 you can remove the ENB series and see. Or edit the enb to remove bloom. You will have to google how to do it. Much is personal preference

No. These work for FS9 only

It was just to show enhancements. The flaps were extended to 5. Not my usual Ifly 😜
