Doc aerates the lawn in back then also does an aeration on the new seed area. This time of year allowing the soil to open up is critical. Whether is water infiltration improvement or simply getting more air into the soil. Should you pick up aeration plugs?
All my neighbors are 8:03 walking by my house giving me compliments on my front yard. I have you to thank for that!! Thanks for all the advise and great products. Dirt Booster 💪
Lambo
Doc was that a fart or burp man 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sounded like both 😂
Burp... I don't trust farts on camera anymore.
@@HowTowithDocI laugh I let out, you should’ve heard from NC 😂 😂
What brand of Bermuda seed do you use
Get a soil test Doc that will make for a good video 💯🙌🙌
Hey Doc! Love your content and genuinely look forward to it every week. I'd love if you did a video on your irrigation install; specifically how to install it on established yards in the least obtrusive way possible. I've got a Latitude36 Bermuda in front/side and Palisades Zoysia in back, been using sprinklers, and ready for a system. Thinking about doing it myself after 3 pricey quotes and them saying they have to dig big trenches. I've seen first-hand how PGA golf courses install temporary Trackman/ShotScope wiring and you'd never know they broke ground. Since you're from a golf course background, I'm curious your thoughts. Thanks, Doc!
Awesome video Doc thanks
I am considering the Billy Goat 18 inch Plugr aerator with the Vanguard engine and I have a question: If I use it 3 to 4 times a year, how do I keep the carburetor clean and empty when shutting it down? The current Vanguard engines combine the throttle, fuel shut-off, and kill switch in one lever so I can't shut-off the fuel and let it drain the carb before dying. Do you use it enough to not worry about emptying the carb?
Honestly... we don't take care of ours. Never changed the oil, never shut off the fuel, never cleaned the carb. Horrible I know, but it starts on every first pull.
@@HowTowithDoc Thanks for the info - sounds like a vote of confidence! I've heard good things about the new Vanguards.
Other than going to jail, any recommendations to prevent neighbors from letting their dogs piss on my lawn (yes, I’ve asked nicely and not to nicely)?
Need the "Good Witch" cutting your lawn with the McLane more... 😮!
Hi Doc. I would love to have you help with my backyard. It's a mess! I'm in GA, too!
I purchased a house in NC with red clay soil, balanced pH (I did soil tests through NC state). The native grass is common Bermuda but the landscaper the previous owner used put down fescue, front yard is 100% fescue now. I get quite a bit of shade in the backyard. Should I keep expanding the fescue, expand the common Bermuda or is there another option? I’m new to all of this.
Probably should have aerated the front first, then seed and straw.
I a have a pest . Really small hard to kill . I thought it was fungus gnats but not sure anymore. White, they fly and jump on the lawn . Any suggestions?
Look up LEAF HOPPERS
Is Monaco seed any good?
Yes have heard good things and have some Black Jack 2 coming
What is this..... Thing that we have? This near obsession with the land and making it grow pretty lawns and plants? There has to be a word for it. So satisfying. Tks for sharing all the tips and sharing your awesome dirt.
Nice hat!
Thanks Doc! My neighbor Hank told me about this channel. What a great continuing lawn education.
Hank is a GENIUS... of course. 😂
Wow you have three properties to keep up!
Two now.
I wish you gave some idea of the cost to do what you suggest. All your videos are awesome btw.
Doc, any reason you didn’t aerate the new 12k sq ft between the layering of seeding?
Just timing and schedule to be honest. Had the aerator down from the barn so decided to do it then.
Let me know if you need any more “friends “ to come relieve you of some of that produce! I’m an hour away and LOVE tomatoes!!
Yes, you are the man, Doc!!!!!!!! Got my lawn looking beautiful because of YOU!!!! 😊
You work too hard Doc
Love your content. You've got a really nice spread out there. Keep the vids coming!
If all else fails, perhaps the deer will eat the left over produce.
We have babies all around the house so we are putting some out for them.
Good video
Is Ryan Docs son?
Yeah he is. Why
Mhm
He's adopted... but I haven't told him.
Thanks doc I’m a simple guy who has always wanted a beautiful lawn. However I must do it on a small budget because it’s all I can afford. I’m looking forward to putting your training into practice. I will let you know in July how my grass looks. Thanks for all the videos.
Why green shocker?! Cant liquid fert do the same timing? If it’s the same ratio?
I don’t remember you talking about the rubber washer in the first video. I will have to go back and make that modification. I also don’t remember you talking about how hard it is to do this. As a retiree, I have learned the hard way. I do the front yard one day and then do the back yard the next day. It kicks my tail, but it does make a BIG difference. BTW, I compost the plugs and use them in my flower beds and elsewhere in the yard as needed.
Aerating newly germinated lawn is bad for two reasons: the weight of the aerator is going to damage the new baby grass and the area that you pull out cores is taking out any new baby grass. If one has money to throw they would aerate newly germinated lawn.
Time will tell... tune in to the bat channel next week.
Thanks Doc!
Doc is the best....
Do you put the plugs in compost
Not with zoysia or bermuda in it. We put them down by the pond area.
