    That is a very nice travel setup. You could go anywhere with what you have. Thanks for the links in the description!

    My dream bike frame and setup! Done watching all of the episodes for this Surly bridge club (from Philippines)! Thanks for this!

    I have an Ogre set up really similar. I use a wald basket with all the hardware ripped off zip tied to the rack and if I'm doing more road oriented touring I swap the cargo cages on the fork for a tubus tara rack and a second set of panniers. Such a cool and versatile bike. Hope you enjoy all your future tours!

    Love the setup! I’ve got a Bridge Club I’ve been slowly setting up for some camping eventually. It’s been such a fun bike for me.

      Nice! I’m hoping to get some more miles on this thing because my first ride on it was super fun. 👍🏻

    Great video. You only need to add a bike stand.

      I’m on the fence on adding one. I generally hate them as they rattle on bumpy stuff. Maybe I can find a lightweight one that is not annoying. Open to recommendations.

    Nice setup! Beer is good. I just installed a Surly Front Rack 2.0 on my Bridge Club. It was NOT easy to install. Should upload an install video soon

      I will admit it was a little bit putzy to figure out. But the instructions included are thorough. Once I got it assembled loosely, lining it up level took a little work. That’s when I figured out to tighten the top struts first and use the other ones to level it.

      I am considering a Bridge Club for mixed terrain commuting and maybe bike packing. Have you been happy with the bike?

    • @mattdesmondwashere
      @mattdesmondwashere  10 місяців тому

      @@MrClintscott I’m happy so far. Only have 2 rides in on it, but it’s got great geo, and is very comfortable. The amount of rack mounts are awesome. Biggest downside that I can see so far is the QR dropouts. They just make it hard to find disc hubs.

      The Surly Bridge Club is a good solid frame with comfortable geometry. I use it mostly for commuting and touring on and off road and have about 1,000 miles on the frameset. I would call the Bridge Club an ATB which sounds like what you are looking for. The price point is reasonable also. Things I like about the Bridge Club are that you can use quick release hubs instead of through axles, external cable routing, and lots of places to mount stuff. The things I do not like are the wide front fork because this limits front rack options, the fact that the largest chainring you can install is a 44 tooth and only with a triple, 40 tooth with a double, and that you can only use a top pull front derailleur unless you add a pully. But then again it is a mountain bike design and not a road bike. Hopefully this helps!

    hi Matt, quik ? did you use the fit kit for the thru axle QR for the rear rack? Great videos! thx

    • @mattdesmondwashere
      @mattdesmondwashere  8 місяців тому

      Hi. I have an axle kit for this rack but it's for a different bike and 142mm thru axle. So, I currently just have this one bolted on to the rack eyelets.

      The tent is the six moon designs lunar solo. It’s noted in the video.

    'Racks, Bags and Camping Gear' is a good title for a rap song. Ok, maybe not camping gear.
