When u wrote that, I loved it. You can't rehear what you experienced. Love the dead since 2nd day college. Saw as many shows as I could. No one gets it unless they are there. Try to encourage thru the years. I wish I was there that night, but I wish I was at all of them lol. Going to see them live is a life style. They need to hear it and experience with kind hearted people. It's like coming home when u see a show
I’ve seen some formidable live music since I saw my first Dead concert in 1989 at Deer Creek, including a list of bands and artists consisting of virtuosity in every measurable degree. This was as good as any show I’ve seen in all of the preceding years. It was different than the 7/15/89, 7/18-19/1990, 6/6-7/1991, or 6/28/1992 shows (my personal favorites at this venue), but it was equally good. I will always go see Bobby with Wolf Bros, or Ratdog, or whatever comes next, but damn if I won’t miss the cohesion this particular constellation of the post-Jerry band brought. John Mayer’s playing truly knows no equal. To have him playing with Bobby and Mickey, with his skill and feel, playing the songs I know and have loved since I was 15, brings immeasurable joy and a hint of bittersweet tenderness (or a touch of grey, as it were) at knowing that it will not look like this again. Regardless, thanks for making what I expect was my last “Dead” show all it was. I will never forget it.
I must have been very near you at this show. That was my view exactly. Row N (2nd row). A couple rows in front of you and to the left. a few seats. I remember the girl on her dad's shoulders. They were right behind me. Thanks for sharing!
The Best Show - Deer Creek (Thanks, Zalewski Law Firm!🎉 ) ;) If a gal from Libertyville, IL, who was staying at our hotel & had brief word with young man, then Grey hair mom from Chg. as you were leaving sees this, leave comment. I was half asleep at breakfast grab...we were comparing Wrigley, NOBLESVILLE ❤ Some good music downtown and good people. Oh, a single son as well. 🎉🎉🎉
Has a good shakedown, cops aren’t too bad (don’t be stupid obviously but the cops seem to not TRY to make trouble for the most part) camping within walking distance. Sleepy bear campground is always the BEST time. They just want everyone to be safe. There’s always a lot of love at Deer Creek. I’m partial bc I live close but I’ve been other places & it’s still my fave-especially in the Midwest for outdoors. The cops in the rest of the state suck but at Deer Creek, they’re pretty chill
This was so magical. People watching this don’t know the beautiful vibe that was felt there in the moment at this show. What an amazing night..
Oh, I bet they do, my friend
I definitely had a religious experience ❤ ⚡️💙

Premium thank u 😎✌💚👑💎👽💙🤙🇺🇸💀🤡
Why is Deer Creek considered such a special venue in the Dead community? I know of the 95 gate crash, but not sure why it's such a special place.
It was one of Jerry's fav places to play.
