I had a 1976 (I think) Renault alliance we put f150 shocks on and I drove that thing down 4 wheeler trails at 70-80 mph the sway bar fell off and it was knee to knee to keep it on the trail....a old railroad grade to haul ore that Vanderbilt built. We had all tread holding two spares on deck lid.
Car was gutted no dash no glass but front windshield, no carpet bare bones, gas tank relocated to trunk (not a fuel cell was on a budget)
Painted camo and called it "turd grinder"
What a fun time....my brother said I should have been a rally driver

Here's how TO drive a rally car in snow:
1- Stay away from the edges
2- Don't steer too hard
3- Always keep the throttle on the floor while drifting
4- "if you're not scared, you're not going fast enough"

Easy to run 8-10/10ths on dry or damp conditions, but snow even with studs is unpredictable. Average of 5/10s to 7/10 max and your still pushing the limits.

Looks like your average Portland driver when they get snow here (we’ll at least the ones that don’t abandon their cars in the middle of the road with 1/8” of snow).
Except Portland drivers only require 5mph to wreck it, not 80mph :)

After watching that, they are overrated drivers. I have done all that easily with a beer in my hand a whiskey bottle in my lap, a joint in my mouth and my arm out the window on bald tyres. Not a problem on Irish tarmac. Wee buns. (kidding).
