I,ve got one of these bikes and yeah, occasionally you will go over some bump or hole and know all about it! But it's OK, certainly not enough to dampen your enthusiasm. It's a bike that responds to a good ragging, it's light on the move, handles well. I traded in my 2019 street twin, good bike! But no regrets, still grinning. 😁
Love this channel. Here’s what I think of the bike for what it’s worth. I’ve ran my 660 in and can finally open it up. Loads of mid range torque and a lot of fun. Brakes have plenty of stopping power but after 4hrs or so the seat gives me @rse ache, big time! I opted for the silver and red but I half wish I’d gone for the black. I’ve replaced the front mudguard with gloss black as the original silver with red decals looked cheap and nasty. Apart from that I love the thing and I’ve booked six hotels in the north of Scotland for the NC500 back end of April. I can’t wait 😛 The rear suspension can be adjusted to soft while the front is fixed
Thanks for posting the vid Dan, enjoyable and interesting viewing as always! Toyed with waiting for the release of the Trident but as an impatient new rider opted for the MT07 back in December. Still tempted to take one for a test ride though!
I managed to grab a 30 minute test ride on one of these yesterday and I was seriously impressed. I thought the suspension was actually quite soft but I am currently riding an old gsxr Suzuki so I’m used to being bucked about. The bike looks great in the flesh with a quality feel, the brakes are plenty strong enough and the engine is a peach, even though the bike had only done 250 miles it was keen to rev and felt as fast up to triple figures as my mates 675 street triple, really punchy. I swore blind I’d never buy a new bike again with the money you lose during the first year but I’m seriously tempted to get one on a pcp/hp deal. Or do I buy a lightly used street triple 675r for a couple of thousand less. Decisions decisions! Enjoyed the vid 👍🏻
Great video, I have just bought 2021 cb650r which I love after watching you having fun on yours. Would you mind doing a video Trident vs CB650R and also review of the 2021 cb650r vs your bike?
Hey @EnglishBikerDan, As promised you have given quite a good introduction of this bike in the UK. Eagerly waiting for more videos on this bike in coming weeks. Are you planning to own one of this in near future? Cheers...love from India!!!
Im a big fan of this bike and the new tuono 660. I do love the sportier looks of the tuono but I'm a sucker for a deal. Despite the price, electronics, and (small) hp difference I find them to be in the same category of 'usable torque 600s'. I would love to hear your comparison better the two once you ride the tuono 660.
All looks great except that suspension, would not want to buy a new bike and then start changing springs and oil etc before I would be happy to ride it. nice informative video well done and thank you for sharing.
Nice short ride. Since you own a CB650R it would be great if you could do a comparison of the trident against your bike. Really looking forward to that.
Thanks a lot for all your great videos. They are fun and informative. I’m thinking between the CB650R, Trident 660 and the BMW F900R (They are very similar price in Germany). I have experience for one year with small 250 cc bike so now what to upgrade and get one to keep for long time. I am planing to use the bike for city commuting in Berlin mostly and on the weekends, go on longer trip trips across Germany with my partner and maybe some light luggage. I’m 35 and im 165cm Which one would you recommend or would you recommend any other naked bike? I though of adventure bikes but i really am not a fan of there appearance.
Between the Honda and BMW, the Honda is quicker and faster. It's lighter and I find it easier to ride. Smoother and so flickable. Easier to manouvre in (city)traffic. So I guess it's between the Honda and the Triumph. If you ask me!
Here double yellow lines means no parking allowed. Hope they don't mean that in the States!! Double white lines in the middle of the road denote no overtaking
I am looking forward for an A bike which I can restrict for making it A2 capable. Currently I am still rocking a KTM RC 125. There is still a year to go, but I am in love with "lower" cc café style nakeds. When comparing the Trident 660 with the cb650r, which one would you guys choose and why? Thanks a lot and have a good day :))
Today i bought my new cb650r. I took it for a test ride. I was rocking a duke 125 too. I think both bikes are the best in their category. I viewed the trident and after all the rational things and tech specs I listened to my heart in the end. It was very difficult. Honda accelerates very steadily nearly as easy to handle it as the duke and i did not feel that heavy but in stationary state you notice it. The power of the bike must be respected after the duke. My heart rate was above 150 at least but it was awesome. The decision was emotional based not rational. To restrict the bike costs 125 pounds but the full power is not intimidating.
@@sandorharaszti4359 Thanks mate for this detailed answer! Our cases are like the exact same. My heart says: "Bro, get the cb650r. The looks, the four cylinders, the quality, the lifespan. It would be, no, it IS your dream bike." But my head also says: "the new trident is kinda sick: turn by turn navigation, cool display, 90% torque all around the rev range". It is an every ongoing struggle. Good for me: I have much time to decide, since I only have the A1 for at least another year... Sad for me: I will have to wait at least a year :(( But thanks again for the answer, bro. Appreciate it very much ^^
@@munki4449 Welcome. Trident can be similar to duke regarding where and how it starts to pull. but i longed for something else.Good luck with the license. it will worth it.
Up until recently I used the GoPro mic adapter with my Hero 7. Recently my GoPro failed me and didn't record any audio on a very important day so I've now moved to an external recorder which is the Tascam DR-05. A bit more faff at times but it's good to know my audio is recording!
Thanks Dan! Will await further videos from you on the younger brother of the ST. Although almost everyone has mentioned the slightly stiff ride quality, I wonder if tyre pressure (maybe higher than recommended) is the culprit. Would be great if you could check that and also let us know the correct psi for front and rear. Cheers
Actually no. Even in rain mode the Street is quicker and has longer legs. This feels like it's own thing power wise but it does turn in like a Street Triple and has excellent brakes.
I think I recall you've had an MT-07, you have a CB650R and you've now test ridden this. So the blinding obvious question is what's your favourite ? :-D
Why is it the roads here are getting dug and re dug and dug up again it's reticula's there are raised and sunken manholes all over the place potholes channel ruts and all sorts what's goin on with all that .Liking this one I am guessing it's mostly low down performance but I will be watching with interest on your next vids nice one Dan : ) .

Great bike. A little too much high speed compression damping at the rear though, makes it very sharp through the saddle on impacts. Forks are great!

Pros and cons to both. Test ride and buy the one you prefer. 👍
I am worried about that suspension. Motobob said the same thing.
It is firm for sure but the roads I went on today were also very bad. On purpose really.

I found the front too hard for my liking. Front forks are not adjustable.
